  • Forehand Topspin Made Simple | eBaTT Tutorial #39
    This is a two-part program aimed at beginner, intermediate, and even advanced tutorials, giving you three basic fundamentals required to process a high-quality forehand topspin.
    We all want to have an amazing forehand topspin which possesses plenty of spin, extreme speed, and huge power like Ma Long for example. But unfortunately, we are not all world-class! Nonetheless what we can all possess is the simple essentials required to have a solid technical base that will aid us in matches.
    Tip no.1
    Understanding that the most important thing required to process a high-quality forehand is a solid foundation from the ground which is your legs. Where your legs are based will define the quality of your forehand. If your stance is square or hyper square, your power and efficiency will be dramatically decreased. It's vital to be slightly off square when playing a forehand topspin. Having your playing hand leg slightly back enables you to rotate your waist and generate energy from the ground giving you more power for your forehand. Today's game has evolved into superhuman speeds and thus you may be hampered if your playing leg is too far back.
    The foot position is displayed in the video and you can choose which suits you best, I personally recommend for new, young and developing players to try and adopt a slight off square stance.
    How to transfer the wait:
    We naturally use our bodies as tools but often do things naturally and don't understand how something is being done or should be done once asked. Therefore I have given you a simple exercise to move an object of your choice, I suggest doing it slowly and you should feel how your body uses certain muscles and transfers the energy from one location to the other. If you are still struggling to feel how your body is working, then try to pick up a heavy object and you should feel how the muscles are put to task. Please be safe, I don't want any injuries on my conscience (Smiley face lol)
    NOTICE:
    Your legs can be anywhere to play a forehand topspin and at times you will be completely out of position and your legs will be in the wrong place. In this situation, you must do your best to execute a positive stock but your aim is to build a solid foundation that enables you to execute the height quality stroke possible.

      @@ebatt8803 What I find most interesting is the stance nowadays, only half a foot because TT is so fast. I am also someone who relies on his FH. What you describe I also experienced, because I try to turn my waste to generate power, there are a lot of times I am too late for the next ball. I find myself having too little time for the next stroke. I only play TT for about 3 years, late 40s so my technique is perhaps also not perfect also. :-)

      eBaTT I had my leg length/position correctish lol. I focusing to much on rotating my waist and not using the legs nearly enough. Picking up the bottle and placing in front was a great way to simplify the weight transfer. Hopefully at some point you show how to use your legs for BH, it just doesn’t make sense to me how to generate power threw your legs with BH.

    Great explanation, but im still questioning what the difference is between more rotating vs pushing the ground in the weight transfer. What would be more optimal

    • @ebatt8803
      @ebatt8803  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      daniel theunissen rotations gives you a little more leverage and can prevent injury. Legs provides force from the ground up. Stand flat footed and punch with some hip rotation then punch using your legs but not hip rotation notice the difference and then combine both 💥🏓💪🏼

    Hi! I'd like to ask you a question. I started playing in a more serious way some weeks ago, but I only have really old bats with almost no grip. Is it so different to play with a new racket or is it just in my mind? Thank you!

    Hi coach, I have a question. Do kalestenics helps players to have a good rythm and good motion of movement? Is it also helps players to have a good balance?

    • @ebatt8803
      @ebatt8803  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think Calisthenics is an amazing form of exercise to develop your body’s strength. Therefore I don’t see any harm and only positives. Yet I don’t do much of it myself so I can’t give any definitive answers on this occasion.
