Got this recently too for my x470f, was a pain to get the bios updated but did it in 3 stages. Got a Corsair aio for it, and was on woods at 230fps. Cpu reached 79c. Corsair icue wasn’t working so I got a different aio (arctic 360mm) and a Corsair 7000x to put it all in. Gpu went from 83c to around 60c max. Cpu now never goes above 50c. Insane chip, it’s a shame you can’t overclock but it is what it is due to the l3 cache taking up some space. Meaning it runs hotter. Overall it’s an insane gaming chip and perfect for tarkov. I would argue it’s the best chip for tarkov right now. Edit: forgot to mention what gpu I am using. It’s a 3090

@@YoungBoom3r I’m doing it 😂 I watched some videos on Gamers Nexus and Linus Tech tips comparing the 5800 x3d to other recent CPUs. streets low FPS comes from the networking code, so testing offline is actually worthless. I get 90FPS when I play at 6 AM, there are no players in the lobby, I never hear anyone else shoot. I play at 6PM and there are shots on the map, my FPS stays around 50-60.
Nice man, I've been looking at this chip as well only heard good things. I'm on a 3800x did you need to change any bios settings.or is it just fit and go?
I believe you need to update your BIOS or something if you are upgrading chips to a newer generation. I could be wrong but everyone who upgrades seems to have to do an update before installing the new cpu. I still use my Internet i7-6700k so I’d need to upgrade my motherboard as well and I cba with that 😂

Tweak how you get in street that fps. I did get yesterday same cpu and my was 70-60 but other maps super street and lightehouse not so good gpu i have 3060
Too much paste can insulate instead of dissipate but the pressure of the squish usually levels it out okay. That squeeze is why you don't need to glob up the sides though. I do a thin square half the size of the processor within it, smooth it out with a dead credit card or put a tiny dot between the square in the middle and the corners. The cleanest was when I just smoothly put a thin layer over the whole CPU with a credit card. It needs to be super thin so it doesn't ooze out the sides. If you can see paste and no metal, it's thick enough. I don't think processors are very sensitive to paste. They're probably more sensitive to not tightening the cooling device onto them tight enough to disperse it. I wonder how many companies use torque values...
