  • For this classic reading vlog I am annotating Don Quixote by Cervantes. This Spanish classic has been on my TBR but has always intimidated me because it is 1,000 pages! I have always heard Don Quixote is humorous and light hearted, so I was optimistic this would be a classic book for me!
I love annotating classics because it helps me engage in the themes and writing style. Cervantes really surprised me with this books. I love when a narrator breaks the fourth wall and speaks to the reader and is self aware the story is a book. Don Quixote and Sancho Panza are very vibrant characters and I loved their banter and revelations about life.

Thanks for elucidating through the use of pedantic annotations and close critical readings Deadpool's great, great, great Iberian grandpa found in a four hundred-year-old dusty tome, the prototype of The Matrix's nonlinear narrative structure

I love your tabbing system! I'm planning to read this book at some point. I've watched The Man of La Mancha musical, so I know some of the story. I'm very hit-or-miss when it comes to meta-fiction stuff and breaking the fourth wall. By the way, I don't think there's anything wrong with rating purely based on enjoyment. This was helpful for my own expectations!

Wow I bet the musical was super fun! I’m inconsistent with my ratings because sometimes I rate it high because I recognize it’s great even if my enjoyment was at that level, or vice versa. But at the end of the day, I just go with my gut. I’ll be curious to see what you think of DQ when you get to it one day. It was very special and unique!

A 3.5?!?! Darn! I do see exactly where you’re coming from tho. But girl when you said you were tabbing insanity, I thought “you better buy a lot more tabs” 😂

@@andreafaulkner5306 that’s amazing! I can see it being 5stars too because the characters were so vivid. What did you think of the ending??
