His music takes me to a place that is so private, spiritual, so beautiful, without harm or prejudice, without malice or envy, without out boundaries, without politics, without religious standards yet standing in the very presence of God......He was a gift that didn't get to stay with us long enough....
The quiet expressions on the faces of the Aborigines touched my heart deeply. Why? They’ve been subjected to more challenges because of colonisation - prejudice, unemployment, alcoholism, domestic violence ... but praise God, He draws near to the broken-hearted, the humble and those who seek His face. He gives them hope in Christ Jesus and the peace that is beyond our understanding😌🙏💕
How ironic that he is singing a Christian song in a language the Christians who converted them forbid them to use. The Aboriginal people actually have more than 60,000 years old beliefs to better keep them together than a hyocritical Christian one. Gurrumul had a very spiritual singing voice and style when he sang of the Aboriginal spirits and beliefs. RIP Gurrumul.
Glory to God 🙏💞 Im Aboriginal & I know without a Doubt that Lord Jesus is REAL As I've seen visions had dreams of Michael Archangel & Myself & have both heard God's Voice at the same time We love because he first loves us , I pray for all our Aboriginal sisters & brothers too come to know how much Lord Jesus truly does love them Amen
this man is incredible, every song, every line and every word of his songs gets under your skin. I love the aborigines and I love Australia I would have loved to get to know him. RIP you live on forever with your songs

Didn't quite get the Gurrumul fuss until I saw this video and music. This visual match up to the music is an absolute masterpiece and goes to a deep, deep emotional place. For me there is a profound emotional core to this music that lies outside time or literality - so there is no need for a translation as I don't need to know right know what this means or meant to Gurrumul - though usually I'm an avid prospector for any nuggets of info on what has inspired great songs. At present the music suggests a lament, perhaps for a people whose spirit has been all but terminally broken through neglect - or maybe for a whole country. Yet it may also be an anthem to change - preceded by the deep and certain knowledge that the time has surely come to recognise that the need for change has never been greater. This music is no raging battle anthem though - rather it is the oh-so gentle yet insistent call of a visionary in whose music we must recognise a call to both personal and national healing. Heartfelt thanks to all who made alive this transcendent piece of art.
Such a beautiful sound. The thing that has impressed me the most is his pure Aboriginal spirit and has shown me a glimpse of how beautiful a people they are but harmed by our western intrusion into their lives. I hope God gives him healing to his vision so he can see his beautiful world of his people. This really has touched me and have watched this video countless times.
I was sleeping this afternoon Indian standard time I just don't know why this song was playing on my mind. Jesus forgive my body mind and soul and take me into Heaven when my time is up.
aww ive only just heard about you and im so happy you led a life doing what you loved, i too have congenital blindness and im happy to say that i also sing 😊😊😇😇 blessed for the gift of singing 😊😊RIL XOXOX
Sit quietly. Close your eyes. Open your heart centre. While listening to this song, allow the hand of Jesus, or whichever Great Spirit with whom you are connected, to reach right into your Being. Blessed be. Thank you Gurrumul.
Lindsey, my friend. There is only one great Spirit and He is not an "it." He is not the universe or cosmic consciousness etc. He created the universe and is distinct from His creation. His name is The Holy Spirit. He is the Spirit of Jesus Christ. God has created all humanity out of one blood and there is one way to be saved (we are lucky we have that, he owes us nothing. We have rebelled against him in our sin and darkness.) We must turn from sin, trust in Jesus Christ dying on the cross and taking the punishment which our sins have earnt us. Believe who Jesus said he was in the Bible. Dont create a false God to avoid your accountability to the one and only creator who has revealed himself in creation, conscience, the Bible and in Jesus Christ: "I AM the way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father but through me." John 14:6 Go well.
@@theamcknight6968 Im a man hahaha. I can understand that. I love God more than others opinions of me, and God deserves to be honoured and recognised as He is. For His and our sake. Otherwise, its not respecting Him as Creator and redeemer nor us and our need to trust Jesus so that we can even hope to stand before His Infinitely perfect presence with all of our sin.
Peace, grace, a glimpse into heaven in this amazing clip. I would love to see a translation in English for me and assuming other first nation speakers might like the same in their languages? Forget just that, I reckon this would be loved in Africa too and who knows how far this can (and should) go across the world.
The history of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders connection with Christianity captured in the most beautiful way. A traditional story teller and what an important story to tell.
As someone that grew up in Australia, I experienced the Aboriginal people, tryed to understand the prejudices and challenges faced by them. This is a deeply moving, sobering song for me. Rip Gurrumul. I hope many Aboriginal people carry on representing a magnificent culture like this man.

You are such a beautiful soul and your music reflects your culture and character in each and every positive way. Miss having you here on this Earth but your legacy will live on.
A beautiful song of praise, deeply feeding in the open spirit. God waiting to fill everyone of these beautiful people with completeness in Him all the healing and fullness of His Love. Please don't blame the past it will only feed it ,look forward ,focus pray fully on Jesus and ask Him with all our hearts to intervene for these beautiful people and heal and protect them all so they are in there rightful place.
