I live in Perth Western Australia & we get four free skip bins a year including green waste bins exclusively for garden prunings etc .. which is then taken away & made into mulch. It's paid for in your council land rates or taxes so you don't have to go to landfill sites. People who are renting can also get the bins.

Our local council collects our green waste which is the turned into potting compost and sold.

And do they collect it for free? I assume mine gets turned into compost and sold too which is another reason I’m bitter about paying for it!

@@palmsexoticsuk2194We have a community charge which Includes a fortnightly collection of garden waste. I only give them things which are difficult compost such as bamboo stems.

Watching your videos, in Glasgow the council has a huge deficit and they are now charging £56 for a "license" to use garden waste bins then we need to pay them to actually take the bins away.
They also apparently didn't have the 100 k to fix the botanical gardens so all the tropical plants are dead and now in landfill and the place is empty.
This is funnily enough in the poorer areas of Glasgow but the west end where the rich people live they have found the money to keep the botanical gardens going there.
    Bit strange

£56 just for a license?? Unbelievable isn’t it! Not far from me in Bolton they still issue garden waste bins and collect them for free

@@palmsexoticsuk2194 for now it's still free but this is getting brought in summer / autumn as the councils skint
