Great concepts to practise so striking the ball correctly comes as a habit. Keeping the head still is an excellent point that seldom gets mentioned. Mike Way, Harvard Squash coach who has coached world champions, also emphasizes the importance of keeping our head still through the hitting zone. Once you start doing that, you realize that you weren’t doing it before.
Very helpful video. Most of the time, when I whiff the ball or don’t make good contact with it, it’s because I lifted my head to see where the ball would go before I actually hit it. Thanks for making the video.
Great clarification of 'keep you eye on the ball.'. Work with your video person to get them in a position so the viewer sees the action of the hitter from a better angle. That will improve your video game. Thanks.
Thanks!! I'd like to see a video on "So you've got your first paddle" and explain, from a very high level (low detail), ALL the most important fundamental skills (like this one) along with why it's important.
There should have been close ups on Nathan’s eye before, during and after contact with the ball to really emphasize the need to track that ball with the eyes.
One of my biggest mistakes is lifting my head before contact. I needed this vid. Thank you !
The explanation of "why" we lift our eyes before contact might be just what we need to get it right

SUCH a great description of a VERY important element to our game. Soft shots require good contact to go over the dang net. ;)

Such a beautiful pickleball court setting! And thanks for the tips!
yes

I am going to practice that tomorrow morning. Simple advice that will dramatically help me out. I miss too many balls by not focusing.
good advice regarding focusing on the ball/paddle contact.
Awesome Video!
yea, gorgeous layout there! and a great lesson on "watching the ball". It will be fun to add this awareness to my game and become more consistent.
Excellent and thank you. Keep up the instructional videos….Thx you

Excellent and agree with the above comments
Exactly what I needed!
Very helpful! Thanks!
I’d like to see a video of a fast volley down the line to your backhand- footwork- paddle position- ball punching- etc. thanks

I needed this badly
When I hit the ball to the opponent which way should I move
Your videos are good….things that we all could do better
Take a look at the KillShot Pro training paddle if you want to work on keeping your eye on the ball. Mike
Nice GRYP paddle
Good content but camera position should have changed to see Nathan head and eyes from front to see him doing what you are saying

Let’s see how this works in real speed
WHY are you almost constantly spinning the paddle in your hand? Hate to be petty but that is most irritating.
Sorry that you're so easily irritated!
It actually helps people keep a loose grip thru a game, so chill out Mr. ADHD.
It's the equivalent of clanking tongs when holding them.
