      Well I understand. However, you are not watching a Steven Spielberg production. I went to your channel and noticed you have not made any videos. Just playlists So, I will make you a deal!!! I will make sure I improve my videos and at the same time I want you to make one video of something you like. I will watch it and enjoy your effort. This is a very difficult thing to do on a budget as there is only one person producing the entertainment. There is no one else doing this. Including----- Ideas, Filming, Production and Editing, Sound and Lighting. I hope you enjoy my other productions and I truly want you to enjoy my other videos.

      Perfect. It needs more love. The coil is weak and of course the carbs needs a kit. Coming in part 2 and most likely part 3. It needs duckbill valves have you heard of those? They are on order and coming in a few days.

    A few observations: 1) your filming is great, better all the time 2) I have worked on older Poulan's (80's) and they were quite robust back when just like those Homelites. Later, after the product lines were sold to others, they became cheaper "Walmart-type" offerings'; thus my rule of thumb is "if it has an old-style toggle switch go for it. otherwise stay away" 3) when pressure testing, if you don't have the rubberized material to block off openings, use one of those business card-sized refrigerator magnets.

    • @BrucesShop
      @BrucesShop  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The fridge magnets are a great idea. Thanks a lot.

    I own a Homelite super 2 & it kept me busy tightening mounting screws & I couldn't tell you how many chain tensioner screws would vibrate loose. I spent more time working on it & looking for screws than cutting wood. I didn't know a Homelite saw would bring so much joy to a guy. I would give you mine but the shipping is more than the saw is worth 🤣. After I wised up & bought a Stihl, cutting firewood was a pleasure & not a dreadful chore! By the way if the little rubber tip comes off that's inside the oil tank the chain oil won't get to the bar. Happy firewood cutting, maybe your experience will be better than I had with those.

    Wow!!! Not even any leaks out the throttle and choke shafts!! That saw is in great shape! I usually test with the piston at TDC then rotate it one full turn to make sure she’s still sealing all around the crank and seals. It’s great when you have the right tool, I’m glad you are enjoying it!

      @BrucesShop  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well right after i remove the carb and tried it again it wouldn't hold. But i am rebuilding it anyway. The diaphragm is really hard on the #1 saw. Thanks for the tip. I still have the other saw to rest. I am trying to keep the progress equal on the 2 saws. Hard to film that way as I get rolling one one and move too far in progress. All in the fun of the challenge. Thanks again Ken. I am having fun.

    Hey Bruce, I am curious as to which version of the Mityvac that is? They have a few. Some are good for Vacuum only and some do both. Yours looks like it does both? I think I liker this over the little pump that Walbro and a few others sell to pressure test needle valves. Thanks!

    With that kind of compression why would you be concerned with looking at the condition of the piston and cylinder?
    I didn't catch where you hooked up the hose from the pressure pump.

    • @BrucesShop
      @BrucesShop  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not sure about the compression i guess I would move forward with anything over 110lbs. at 25:20 I hooked up the pressure pump to the impulse port that pressurises the chain oil tank. This puts air pressure right into the crankcase.

    • @jws3925
      @jws3925 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BrucesShop thanks Bruce! Couldn't figure out where that line went to pressurize the case.
      I've had an XL for at least 30 years. It looks like a piece of junk, has been abused and stored inappropriately. It leaks bar oil like crazy but ALWAYS starts cuts great if I keep the chain sharp and the oil tank topped up. I use it as a de-limber after the tree is down. It is lightweight and goes thru wood like an angry beaver. I keep waiting for it to die but doesn't show any signs of doing so. It is a tough little saw!
