Lovely lady great passion! On my doorstep i live just north of Aberdeen. On my list to visit this year. I had a few nights in this area last year, some good road cycling in the area also, if you want to challenge yourself , Clatt to Alford always clears the cobwebs. Keep up the great work Cameron. Thank you.
Hello Cameron - on the back of this video we booked a 2 night stay at the Grampian Campervan Campsite as we were looking for somewhere reasonable to stay in the area to catch up with family and friends. This is the first Aire we have used and is an absolute gem of a site. Mieke and Jan were extremely welcoming and friendly and Mieke is exactly as she is on your video - very bubbly and enthusiastic of their site and the local area. Even though she was busy she always took the time to have a chat with us. The site is in a lovely quiet location with lovely views. The toilet/shower block is now up and running - 3 very modern, spacious individual rooms with lovely hot and powerful showers. There is also a well equipped kitchen area for dishwashing / making a cuppa. You can pick from a menu of options or agree an all in price with Mieke. We only needed the pitch and use of the toilets/showers so paid a very reasonable £15 per night. Definitely a site we would recommend and will return to again in the future to explore more of the area.
Used to go to Aberdeenshire a lot as a kid. There are so many places of interest to see. The folk are really friendly. It’s good to see another aire open and I’ll keep it in mind. Not sure about your diet All that UPF😂
Hi Cameron, great video, the scenery from the tap o' noth was stunning, and anybody listening to the woman would want to go to her aire and hire a campervan. Her enthusiasm was infectious.
We will definitely be visiting the Aire on our travels up to Shetland. Idahoan mash is our favourite so simple and tasty. Thanks again Cameron for your video
Well Cameron, the missus is just oot the door and top of the shopping list is the Idaho package o' tatties. I'm sure we can buy them locally here in Las Vegas. Thanks for the heads up, could smell the bangers, crazy what the internet can deliver.😉
I agree with you about being snug in the van while it's cold/wet/windy outside. I'm just back from Galway and it was great, though many places were closed for winter.
This is a useful facility for van users in the area. What I would like is more simple camp places for tent users. All I need is parking for my car, a toilet, water supply and a flat bit of grass. I can survive without a shower for a night or two but if that could be supplied too then that would be ideal.
Thanks Cameron and I reckon I could get my 7 metre motorhome in there? Great to see these facilities opening up. Was parked at Ardgarten last weekend in my small van and minus 6 outside and lovely and warm inside the van. Can’t beat it Dave
Happy New Year to you and when I saw you had put up content about Aberdeenshire I was trying to work out where you were from the roads. Donside is just outside my area of expertise being a Deeside loon not that I don't know where you were as I had an American friend from school in Aberdeen who lived near there whose Father was also in oil. I was always jealous of him as at the age of about 12 his domain was the third floor of the house three bedrooms a toilet and one bedroom was covered in Scalextric track and more cars than I knew existed. A good little business going there.
I keep my horses just the other side of the Suie and come past the campsite on my way to Wardhouse for feed or to leave rugs for washing. Mieke is fair picking up the Doric! That road can be prone to whiteouts in winter.
Good to see more options for stopping places but I can I ask that you make clear whether or not these aires have toilet facilities? We caught on to the Idahoan mash a couple of years ago too. Not always the easiest thing to find though. The Co-op in Aviemore has recently stopped selling it. My veggie Missus won't be happy with bacon flavour though 🙂
With all due respects it is an aire, not a camp-site. Meike stated in her interview what facilities are available and that toilets would be in the next phase of development. The price per night is clearly stated in the information above. £10 per night plus £4 for EHU.
I thought this looked great and looked at their website. £10 Pitch per night £5 Bathroom and utility facilities (2 people and £1 for each additional persons) £3 per wash £2 per tumbledry £4 Electric hook up £5 Black waste disposal £2 Grey waste £2 Fresh water £5 Black waste disposal So for one nights stay using the bathroom facilities, hook up and both waste disposal and fresh water it costs £28. Is that not expensive for an aire? uppose you could just stopover and pay the £10 though. 🤷♀️
Very useful intel as always. I rewatched your video on campervans. We are new to this & two yrs ago bought small motorhome. LWe think it’s too big for what we want & want to get a camper. We will do usual search but any recommendations anyone has on dealers with good range - prepared to travel - live in Edinburgh. Got motorhome Knowepark Livingston. Ideas welcome
I think it's a question of just looking around and seeing what's on the market. I have a VW campervan, a T6 chassis, and I'm delighted with it but there are some very good conversions on Ford Transits and Hyundai 1:800, although I don't think that particular van is made any more. I first saw my van on Auto Trader. Much depends on whether you want to buy new or second hand. There is apparently a big move away from larger motorhomes at the moment to campervan size so the market is probably quite competitive. Just be careful when considering the conversion. There are lots of home-made conversions out there, some terrific, others notyso good. If you do buy a home-converted campervan make sure it has all the gas and electric documentation to make sure it is safe. Without that paperwork you'll have a difficult job when it comes to selling it on. It's probably worth check the Motorhome Man TH-cam Channel. Usually lots of campervans reviewed there and you'll get a good idea of what's available.
What a delightful host. So enthusiastic and welcoming.
I love the way her accent wanders around from the Netherlands, to Scotland, and confusingly, North Wales...🤩 (I have dutch family, and live in Wales)
Amazing how the ‘Dutch couple’ have picked up so much of a Scottish accent
What a great jolly host, thankfully she’s in the correct business. 👏🏻❤
Superb series Cameron, keep up the great work. It’s good to see that more aires are becoming available and your vlog’s are a superb introduction.
Lovely wee woman - I’m sure their business will continue to be a roaring success
another nice video Cameron and aire owner did a fab job on sharing all the good things about both her campsite and the local area 👍
Having a diary in the vans is a great idea.
Several videos of yours I’ve watched are of supreme quality Sir grey beard!! Thank u .. well done. !

I admit it’s not an area I visit but need to change that. Loved the enthusiasm of the owner.
Thank You More Aires Please Regards
Great to see a good prices Aire having just come back from France where they do it oh so well
Looks a cracking spot

What a great facility.
This looks like a fabulous place. I love Aberdeenshire ❤❤. Thanks for this.
Tap O Noth has a fascinating history, lovely part of the world. I live in Moray, great camper location.

I can’t wait to visit this one. Love the area - so beautiful but so overlooked. Love the owner’s Dutch / Aberdeenshire accent :)
Your aire reviews are incredibly useful Cameron
what size ridge monkey were you using, thanks.

another great video, with great tips, what size is your ridge monkey, being used to the northwest, must try over that direction!!
If you're cold in your van put the heating on, being wrapped as you are surely you wont feel the benefit when you go outside...😊
My local hills.
I always add a wee dod of butter to the tatties just lifts them a bit
Add some nutmeg!
Thanks Cameron and I reckon I could get my 7 metre motorhome in there? Great to see these facilities opening up. Was parked at Ardgarten last weekend in my small van and minus 6 outside and lovely and warm inside the van. Can’t beat it Dave
Hi David! No problem at all you’ll manage! 😊
@@MiekeGuijt-dz1ur thank you see you soon

Very nice but as yet no toilet showers or wash up… nor did you mention the cost per night

Where did you get the dinner plates from?
" Whore di yi pit it aw "
" that wis some platefi "
great blog as usual, will try to get up in 2024
Aye, hikingfthe hills give you an appetite.
I thought this looked great and looked at their website.
£10 Pitch per night
£5 Bathroom and utility facilities (2 people and £1 for each
additional persons)
£3 per wash
£2 per tumbledry
£4 Electric hook up
£5 Black waste disposal
£2 Grey waste
£2 Fresh water
£5 Black waste disposal
So for one nights stay using the bathroom facilities, hook up and both waste disposal and fresh water it costs £28. Is that not expensive for an aire?
uppose you could just stopover and pay the £10 though. 🤷♀️
@@aileenl7227 That’s the idea. You’re not forced into paying for facilities you don’t need or want.
