As a Sicilian, I loved the movie. I was born in Sicily, raised in Brooklyn, lived in California, LA , Orange County, and Riverside County. Most of my friends were Mexicanos, even when I moved to Dallas. This movie came out in 1992, I saw it on video in August of that year. In 1993, Bound By Honor came out (later named Blood in, Blood out), and I went to see that with my girl, and homeboy "Chuy", and his ruca. It was a bad ass movie. But having done time in TDC (Texas Department of Corrections) from '81 until '89, we understood that Hollywood did some touch ups. But still a bad ass movie. I do have to speak on one topic, being Sicilian. In real life, Scannelli would have made the deal to have kept his son safe. Italians have no significant numbers in the Cali prisons. But if he did not, he would not have sold uncut dope to his customers as a way of revenge for his son's murder. Scannelli would have called a few families back east to assist with revenge. They would have checked with the prison guards to see who was involved and they would have gotten names. Those individuals would have relatives turn up missing and then found dead with knives in their asses. Then the same people would have killed Scannelli for dealing dope. A 360 circumfrence of killings that started with Scannelli and ends with his murder.

The guy is still the same guy you see in interviews, it's just his stature is not how it's presented in movies. For example another one is Antonio Banderas, in Desperado he's depicted as this big huge Mexican of a man but in real life he's not tall at all. It's a trip on how movies can take you for a ride.

He was divorced, dont know why he was a hard worker and a well spoken moral man.
He didnt tell me this with anger towards his wife or her new husband.
Mike was worried for his 9 year old son. He said he gets to be eith him every other weekend, not enough time to guide him to live the right way.
I still think about him 20 years later, how did things work out, how is he, how is his son.

Contact from this guy in particular would take the entire TH-cam yards by storm I don’t care what anyone says everyone or at least the vast majority want to hear the sky. We want to hear his life story misconceptions, myths…. Especially myself being born & raised in SELA growing up in that area at the height of his power I know what he was about

Two of my teachers in prison spoke the same way as him. I used to listen to them and say you guys should be on PBS… Most of the men in my family were constantly in and out of prison. I was sentenced to 12 years at 17 years old. I broke my chains I changed my DNA cause of the two teachers I had in prison. Family treated me like shit when I came out of prison and waited for me to go back it’s been 8 years and I still haven’t went back… Sometimes I need my teachers cause I’m lost but I have to Remember what they showed me and recreate and re teach my self to survive cause all I hear is no no no
