The Norisu Nine is probably the deepest thing in the series, there were nine siblings of Ninjas who belonged to a clan whose duty was to wipe out the sorcerer. But these nines made the ultimate sacrifice leaving only one Ninja to remain and that was the first Ninja. when he felt defeated, he felt as though he let his brothers down.

I really like it when we find out there's more to cartoons than what's on the surface like how this show refuses to hint at a substitute cuss word but does confirm canonically the first ninja battled the Sorcerer alongside 8 of his friends who's graves are SHOWN IN THE SHOW with the first Ninja and Plup-Plup mourning their deaths in a flashback. Also that Randy is not only stronger than people expect but not just any random person can wear the Ninja Mask you have to have a good heart (or be created by the Nomicon during the Nomi-Randy episode).

I reckon some theories of why the Norisu Nine were chosen to defeat the sorcerer and why they traveled across the world (from Japan) to defeat him: 1) So that they would become loyal protectors 2) They would redeem themselves (because ninjas in japan are usually the enemies and they are probably discriminated a lot there) from their bad ancestors 3) They would avenge their loved ones (think about it, since they’re all entirely siblings where and what happen to their parents and relatives?) 4) Or they’ll be the ones to do it because they are the bravest in their village or probably nobody volunteers to defeat the sorcerer except and only them But yeah these just got me thinkin🤔
