1. "You ain't got it, King. Rook(ie)!" The King and the Rook are chess pieces. If you don't have your King, you've lost the game.
2. But the way he says "Rook" has an ad lib behind it that makes it sound like "rookie," meaning you're new to the game or your skill level is low.
3. The Queen's Gambit is an opening in the game of chess that makes the opening player look like they're sacrificing a pawn, but their opponent cannot take it without being disadvantaged the rest of the game.
4. Queen's Gambit was a super popular Netflix series. Coast Contra on their way to super popular.
5. "Put myself in position for checks" means he's moving into a position that get's him really close to winning the game and forces his opponent to make a move he would not otherwise make.
