Great review. Thank you. @ 19:45 you mentioned "adding some hooks to the hallway wall would be a welcome addition." Note that the stateroom walls have metal backing. We brought and used a few dozen magnetic hooks when we were aboard the Viking Star for the 21/22 World Cruise.

Hi hi you two ! Thank you so very much for this wonderful video and narrative which are always well spoken, fair and detailed. I have not yet sailed on Viking Oceans, but we plan on doing so for a 2025 October New England-Canada 14-night itinerary on the Viking Mars. To your question: I wish to cast a 'vote' for whether or not we'd prefer a love seat or 2 chairs. We feel sitting side by side on a loveseat is not befitting of a great conversation space. Whereas in the Viking arrangement of 2 chairs, there's enough extra side space to move them and angle them more in a V-fashion. If this room had a full-size couch, it would be an equal arrangement for convo's. I have been a Subscriber to your channel for quite a while and always look forward to viewing all your videos regardless of new-uploads or not, as they are all relevant !

Hi Chris & Rickee. I hope you're both feeling better by the day. My previous six Viking cruises( 2 trans-Atlantic crossings on Sky & four Bermuda on Orion) have been exceptionally wonderful. I'm expecting my trans-Atlantic in December aboard Neptune will be the same. The mature dignified classy yet relaxed atmosphere of Viking is in a league all their own. Looking closely there are differences in the ships. The stairwell in The Restaurant leading down to Manfredi's & Chefs Table has a unique art piece or painting. I prefer the ships without the Dome on the upper level of Explorers Lounge, leaving that space open for additional lounge seating. The newer ships in the fleet have windows that open up along the padded loungers on the side of the main pool, hopefully that will alleviate the stuffy air when the Magradome is closed. Looking forward to part 2!

I was on the same cruise. We felt like Most of the staff and cruisers had Covid. Viking Rocks.

Everything in your mini frig is included in the suite price and replenished daily. You don’t need the drink package for this. If a penthouse veranda or higher suite is booked then beer, wine and small alcohol bottles are also included. We cruised the Viking Sky in 2018 and did not have the drink package. We only paid for beverages at the bars, not what was in the stateroom.

However, if you are in the lowest category stateroom it is not filled up but you can eat and drink what is in there free of charge. Just not refilled. Is that correct?

Thanks to the presenter for disclosing their exhaustive cruise experience. As was stated, this is bound to give a unique perspective, in several directions. We are near the other end of the spectrum in cruise experience, although our two river cruises were both Viking.
Speaking strictly from my view, while this reviewer’s experience is certainly encyclopedic, the level of attachment to the cruise industry (regardless of the level of compensation) is going to create a bias that passengers like us simply cannot share.
It does escape me why the discussion of airlines and hotels, since the title of the video only includes Viking Mars. In my view, these should be discussed in a separate video.
There is great detail in this video, and we look forward to our 2024 cruise on Viking.

We all have bias and I don't think there is any way around that. That is why we recommend getting information from multiple reviewers.

Thumbs up done 👍 I'll be doing a Viking Star cruise next year and will have a deluxe veranda room. Hopefully it will be as good as you presented it in this video except for the shower room leak. 😃

Was on Orion and Sky. Did not have issue with shower door leaking. Also if you use that vanity remember to check it before disembarking. I think I left a bracelet in there :-(.

Thanks for the great reporting. My wife has the same issues with “firm” beds as Rickee. If you request it, the cabin steward will put a “pillow topper” on one half of the bed and, for my wife, this takes care of the bed being too firm. For our next Viking cruise, I have requested that this be done through the “My Viking Journey” website. We’ll see if it works.

That's a great idea. Not sure why we did not think to ask for that. Good tip!

Great review, much appreciated as we are doing a cruise on this ship later this year. I have a question though, is there a hairdryer in the bathroom? And is there a hairdresser on board? Thanks in anticipation!
