The bird sounds in the song is to mimic how birds fly around people's heads in cartoons when they're dizzy because it relates to the lyric at that point which is "spinning spinning". And the idea of free birds being locked in a cage is relating to people being trapped by being normal.

Wondering what the bird has to do with it? The song is called maniac, everything in this mv references back to that word. The drill is something psychiatrist used to use for lobotomies back in the day to “fix”insanity. The bird references the book One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, a book set in an insane asylum. They reference screws because when you are different or odd you say you have a few screws loose, and this song is about unleashing your inner true self so they reference Frankenstein because he created the monster who in reality is a reflection of his true self. The two worlds in the mv represents the fake world we live in and mask ourself in while the dark shift world is our inner self constantly hidden. Stray Kids never do anything half way and Nothing is ever random; every aspect, image, choreography, reference has meaning. 3RACHA are producing geniuses. Period.
