3RACHA felt pressured to put out songs after God’s Menu era afterwards. I do hope they are not burned out. Han even said it was difficult for him to write for Maniac. I am a bit scared for the kids, they are so profilic when it comes to producing and writing their music. I find this album is a new era for SKZ music, a departure of GO LIVE, IN LIFE and NOEASY trilogy (SKZ love their trilogies). It is more stripped down and at the same time, very SKZ-like. It is hard to describe but when I hear a SKZ song I know it is SKZ and 3RACHA.
I think skz is smart for making their songs short. It makes the listeners want more. I listen to it so many times because I keep wanting more. It’s a great strategy for musicians in my opinion.
A lot of requests for songs like god’s menu and sorikkun Stray kids: - from the beginning it is our game - one by one they follow Damn Nobody can replicate them though especially sorikkun for me. Such a masterpiece. Their lyrics cut deep too and that alone tells
Every one say thank you Chan, changbin and Han for such an amazing song imagine being good at everything and producing songs for ur group to have as a come back on top of that
The thing is Stray kids doesnt stick to one thing, they make sure to move on while keeping the same Stray kids styke. They can’t keep having the same loud noisier/louder songs Every single comeback then they can’t expand there music father if thats there only brand. So with MANAIC they came with a different vibe while keeping that Stray kids energy that put a-lot of pressure on Stray kids shoulders. But it seems like Maniac is doing the job right since its doing good on korean and global platforms than both god menu and thunderous combined. The whole album is cohesive too, and Stray kids always out do themselves each time.
i like maniac as much as back door (my fav tt from skz). skz just experiment with everything i mean they can make another gods menu and thunderous but they are unconventional group so their release always feels refreshing
For a mini-album (that usually has like 3-4 songs in, SKZ gave us STRONG 7 songs) this title track is perfect. I think they were aiming for the US market more with this "mini" come back and I think they made it 🤟 Can't wait to hear what they cooked for us with their 3rd full album when it comes out! 🤩
I like how the sections sound so different from each other in MANIAC, the verse has this brighter and "major scale" sound, while the rest of the song is way darker and deeper, I'm really curious about the harmony and how they played with theory on this one song. I'm also excited about the production course but I'm afraid I won't be able to afford it, anyway I'm sure it will be great and many good producers will come from there.
they usually have a concept/music change after a few comebacks (usually after 3). i personally really loved it cuz it wasnt as strong and intense which is more my style
I just notice Skz songs are hard to cover in terms of singing it's like their songs is only made for them.Since they have different kind of voices from Felix deep voice to Seugmins honey like voice. And the rap parts are insane.
Personally, I like maniac more than "God's menu" and "소리꾼", just because it's something new from them. The previous two songs were about the same in terms of the overall vibe and partly the structure. Maniac sounds more fresh to me… And by the way, every track on their new album sounds very fresh and experimental. For example, the first track VENOM, with this kinda hyperpop style synth, sounds very crazy… p.s. Really exited for the production course!
I agree. I think what it is though is that God's Menu was more known internationally, and Thunderous was super popular in South Korea. However, all 3 songs follow a similar musical structure, at least to me. But, I would argue that MANIAC sounds more polished which shows a lot of growth from 3RACHA and Stray Kids as a whole. This is also a very different concept. In an interview, Changbin said this mini album was more relaxed and matured but they are still very much themselves. So MANIAC isn't necessarily fresh or new, it is just cements how much of the noise music/mala genre Stray Kids have mastered to the point where this is the Stray Kids' sound. God's Menu, Thunderous, and MANIAC all differ to an extent, but they still connect to the Stray Kids' sound, thus making them more noticeable and distinctive amongst the crowd. (But this is my own observation, I think Charmer is a good example)
@@employeeattheffc9874 Maniac definitely doesn't give the same vibe as God's Menu or Thunderous at all. Not the same structure or sound base. I'd say God's Menu, Back Door and Thunderous have the same sound structure.
A detail I really like is the mechanical drill-theme that can be found throughout the song. In one of your previous video's you pointed out that using original sound effects is mandatory in K-pop, so that made me notice the drill sound at the start of the chorus. The theme also surfaces in the lyrics ("a screw loose"), the dance (they turn around their axes, and seem to be screwing something into their heads) and I see them holding an actual drill as well :) I totally agree that the chorus seems a bit stronger than the verses, but I love the song a lot!
A veces me dan ganas de llevar curso para ser productor y de esa manera apreciar profesionalmente y a profundidad la música, en espacial de SKZ porque amo su trabajo.
I love Stray Kids very much! Maniac is a veeeeery strong and catch song. It's smth new from them I think. Other songs are amazing as well. Lonely st sounds so wonderful 💞 тт ps I'm New on your channel. I like watching you very much!! You're very cool!!!
thinking why maniac song structure seems out of place like the verse is not what we expecting from what we here from the chorus teaser and pre chorus is not actually melodic but just a rap part then cut off to anti drop and they have this melodic bridge were stray kids rarely uses in their title track. Wondering why? Its just simple the album is ODDdinary its ODD.
I'm always impressed with how much of their own writing and production they do, and I think they're brilliant, both musically and just as young men.. I've only found them recently I've really become a Stay the last few months, and I adore them. I do like this new album, but for me none of the songs are better than those other two songs, BUT, that is 100% okay with me!! I don't want there to be expectations of constant topping of previous hits on any artist, because that's just nonsense pressure. As long as they're making music they're proud of, I'm proud of them too. And I certainly have still listened to this song a bunch lately!
Yeah! Production course! Totally excited for that! Could you maybe already tell us if there are any prerequisites to get in? Like a certain level? Also, would using a particular DAW be necessary or convenient? I am currently deciding on which DAW to buy and learn, so it would be great to know which DAW to start using in advance :) And last but not least: a time slot that would be doable for Europe would be much appreciated ;)
Hello, I'm an artist based in France currently working on my debut album. After listening to your work, I'm impressed by your talent and feel that your style could be a perfect fit for what I'm aiming to achieve with my project. I'm heavily inspired by the musical universe of Stray Kids and aspire to create songs with sophisticated and dynamic beats, much like theirs. I believe your ability to craft compositions rich in texture and energy could really bring a special dimension to my album. In order for me to seriously consider a collaboration, I'd like to discuss the following details: Terms and Rates: Could you please provide information on your rates and standard working conditions for creating beats for a full album? Mixing and Mastering: Do your services include mixing and mastering the tracks you produce? If so, could you provide details about this? Exclusivity and Rights: Will the tracks you produce be exclusive to my album? Will they be registered with SACEM to ensure proper copyright protection? I'd also like to understand what rights I would hold over the tracks, considering we operate in France. I truly appreciate your time and consideration. If you're interested in this collaboration or have any further questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me anytime. I'm excited to discuss this opportunity with you and see how we can work together to create something truly special. Looking forward to your response, Best regards,
that’s because you didn’t get the message from the lyrics. those switches between different places have a lot of sense if you simply pay attention, it’s not “trying too hard”.
it wouldn't be easy to understand what skz wants to convey if you didn't follow their story from the start, that's what unique about skz they will do another music that is related or continuation to their previous music, they have their own storyline, also try to understand the message of the song so you can understand the whole mv 😊
its going back and forth between the two cities that are mirroring each other. which is why the world is upside down when theyre doing the street dance scenes. half of skz are in one city and half are in the other until they start to merge together while becoming oddinary. watch the trailers and teasers and it makes sense. esp if you watch the other skz music videos that come before it in the storyline.
i dont understand how everyone liked this song. idk if its just me but i find the beat changes so sudden like there is no transition they cut the verse's beat and then bird noises drill noises and then chorus's beat. dont you think that this song feels disconnected? i love skz's music and NOEASY one of the best albums ever but this title track idk
Same here I was expecting more ?it's different and It's not bad but since they spoiled the chorus in teaser it took away all the excitement 🙃.....I like only the chorus in the whole song ..maybe for a title track it didn't reach my expectations. Don't come at me lol been a stay since debut just my opinion for this comeback ....
As others have commented, this is the next era. The God's Menu era ended after NOEASY (well, technically I believe it ended as of the Scars MV, as that has the same era-changing epic collective feel as Levanter when it ended the Cle era and led into the God's Menu era). And true to form, that means the sound in this era will be another evolution of SKZ. That's literally their "concept," in as much as SKZ have a concept: "We're starting young and inexperienced, and we're going to take you along with us and let you watch us grow up and mature and evolve and learn and change even as we stay true to the core of ourselves." God's Menu era -- the era the majority of people seem to have met them in and thus the sound most people seem to think of SKZ's static signature sound -- was the flex era, the clapback era, the "Oh, we're loud? Let us show you exactly _how_ loud" era. The Maniac era will be the next evolution, showing them continuing to mature, to polish their sound, to experiment as always with sounds and structures they haven't done before, to keep forging their own path forward through the yellow wood no matter how much continues to be thrown in their way and regardless of what anyone else wants regarding how they shape the music they use to express themselves. If this had the same vibe as God's Menu, Thunderous, or even Back Door, it would have been a failure of their intent. Those songs belong in _that_ era, that stage of their growth. Now comes the new era and their latest level of maturity and growth. And this will, presumably, play out across three Korean-language albums (and the occasional single and Japanese release) before the _next_ era begins, in which they'll have a new set of life experiences to draw from that will shape _that_ sound. Remaining true to themselves and disregarding outside influences while also growing and changing is the literal ethos of SKZ.
I think Stray Kids are such a unique group, after over a decade of listening to kpop I never saw a group like them
3RACHA felt pressured to put out songs after God’s Menu era afterwards. I do hope they are not burned out. Han even said it was difficult for him to write for Maniac. I agree like it was short so there's a tendency that you will play it on repeat 👍

Just want to say that 3racha (bangchan, changbin, han from stray kids) made ALL of their song
the whole album is so good
Every song in this album sound like title song

waiting for the production course
oh i love your perspective
I am so keen for a production course!!!!
Felix is my bias the one with the deep voice he’s Australian along with the leader named bang chan with the blue hair.
Thank you so much!
No comments, only wanted to see your reaction to the whole album. I am no expert, but I love the bsides and really wanted to know your opinion

riff, hook and leitmotiv mean the same?
yes
No riff is a repeating line or phrase of musical notes. Hook is the chorus. Motive is a phrase of musical notes
pls react to charmer
Please react savage aespa
