As a born and bred New Yorker .. it didn’t matter. There were always those players when they came to the Garden you’d look forward to them. And Iverson was def one of those players who the Garden “loved”. I always heard about this speech but I didn’t think I’d cry 4 separate times listening to it. Like him one of the best ever.

He was never afraid of being vulnerable and people loved him for that. As a teenager watching every game i could on tv my mom would always sit down and watch with me. She fell in love with him and pointed out moments through out his career that his effort , heart, confidence , his ability to be humble were great qualities to emulate. And of course all of us have flaws even our heros.

Voice from fan in China: I still remember the moment when I watched my lifetime 1st NBA game with my dad in our living room. That was Philly vs LA final. I didn’t know NBA quite much at that time. But I do remember there was a guy in white jersey fighting his best against the other team. The other team was strong but that guy just never gave up. He was a real fighter. Later in my life there were down times when I just felt like I couldn’t make it. At moment like that I would think of that guy in that final game. AI’s spirit keeps inspiring me. Now I’m 32 yo and have a doctorate degree with a decent job. I love you AI!

Allen Iverson was always very vulnerable and thats what won the hearts of Philly fans. Iverson created an atmosphere at Wells Fargo center that didn't exist before him or after him. Truly a special player and person who i think always tried to be his absolute best. Admitting when he was wrong , he was extremely relatable and honestly a good role model when i was a teenager.

It makes me smile so much when I see people get to this point and all they can do is give thanks and credit to everyone who loved and supported them along the way. At the end of the day we're here for Allen. But he knows the whole story of the people who helped him to get there. Sometimes talent isn't enough. You need to have people in your corner who love and support you. And everytime we see an athlete like this they have that. And they should give thanks because not everyone in the world has that.
I heard a saying. The graveyard is filled with potential. But Allen Iverson didn't die or throw it away. He used it. And to this day he inspires me. He's the Answer.

A lot of our mom’s can always see something deep in us that we didn’t even know we had. Allen had and still does have a lot of fans. But he kept it real saying he also had a lot of haters and doubters as well that didn’t want him to succeed. Congrats 🎊🍾🎉 Allen you deserve to be a NBA Hall of Famer!!!! 🏀🏀🏀🏀

Genuinely one of the most underappreciated talents to ever play the game. I've been fortunate enough to attend my fair share of professional sporting events, and none more entertaining than watching Allen play in Philadelphia. The guy was brilliant.

In never knew Allan Iverson had such amazing qualities to deliver this type of speech... Emotional, deep very deep, honoring and thanking God first of all - i mean sincerely thanking not just as some do - and than all the other important contributors in his life and career...
Wow, Allen, you are not just gifted with sports talents, but with a great heart, after all you went through and how satan was pulling you to the bad side of life.
Big up, bro, congratulations and God bless you 🙏🏽

Iverson. So much respect. As a player, and as a man. And yes, as a role model. This dude did the work. In his own way, sometimes. AI is an inspiration to all, sports fan or not-- a passionate guy. He speaks like he played. Straight from the heart.

September 1 2024 just watching his entire HOF speech...amidst tears, laughter, shouts of joy and downright pride as i saw and heard the man he grew into. Knew of him first through the incident that almost ruined him. Later through bits of his college and NBA time. His speech is one for the history books and needs to be immortalized on film. Such a rich history of a life. Pray continued blessings for him and his family.
