Wow, this was indeed an insane game. It's really interesting watching a basically-no-creatures deck sideboard 4 goyfs, and actually use them. I would have never thought of that cause it feels a bit anti-synergistic, but actually you can have so many card types in your graveyard they grow really quickly, especially with milling. I'm also quite new to lantern so maybe this has been done before, but it's still insane to me! I wonder, would this work using murktide in the blue version? Similar idea, 2 mana creature using your graveyard. Although while you can play early goyfs and grow them as you go, murktide needs to be all at once, so maybe a tad slow? Side note, that shadowspear play in game two was absolutely wild, I loved it Looking forward to more tarmogoyfs in the future, they seem full of potential!
Goyf is a relatively new idea, but an interesting one. As for murktide I suspect that the blue version doesn't have quite enough spells to grow it, although flying would be nice. Will try it!
I asked before but I wonder why you brought Shadowspear g2. May be fine and I'm just missing something, but they don't have much you want to trample over other than mana dorks I think in g3 getting Needle over Lantern was a tunnel vision punt. Look at you hand and consider if the did draw Emperor (I habe paused the video before seeing whether they did or not). You have Bridge, Lantern (if you want it) and 2 Shredders vs his 2 lands in hand akd irrelevant board. You just win very often from there imo
Was sort of bringing in shadowspear with the goyfs as a package, but yes they do play a lot of dorks, trample would have been good g3. I think you're definitely right, got a bit too focused on winning with tarmogoyf game 3.
