I know I ain't the only one having my underwear constantly destroyed by discharge stains and numerous sweating that makes me feel gross and unclean. Not to mention the name calling, messed up pH balance (Which can happen with or without sweat), UTIs and yeast infections.
What a great way at to make a delicate topic more approachable for young women. Wish this video was around when my daughters were starting there periods.
I have a period story. So once in yr 7, I was in a lesson and I thought my period was over, and we had run out of pads at home, so I had nothing for an emergency. I felt that feeling like a waterfall just went into my pants. I panicked and wouldn’t move for the rest of the lesson. I told my friend who was luckily sitting next to me at the time and she had a spare pad. Once it was time to get out of our seats, I didn’t move. It had stained my trousers but luckily wasn’t on the seat. I tied my jumper around my waist and headed to my trusted thatcher with my friends. She gave me a few more pads and gave me spare pants and trousers. I was so lucky to have my friends and my teacher there with me❤. Sooo that’s my story!
I'm 10 and my doctor said that I might get my period soon and I think she's right because one time I dropped some ice cubes on the floor and I started crying, but my mom was there to comfort me ❤
@@kennedydunning I’m 10 and the same thing happened to me! I told my mom I thought I peed the bed but it was a puddle of sweat and my mom said “one day, it’ll be blood” I’m scared :’(
Don’t be scared. 💕People make periods out to be scarier than they actually are. 🙄After a few times of having you’ll get the hang of it. Your mom just wants to prepare you, it’s just disguised as dramatic comments. 🥸Usually, your first period, will only be a little bit of blood. But if it is a lot don’t worry, you may feel cramps before it comes and can put a pad on to prevent leaking. And if you leak, no worries happens to literally EVERYONE. 🙋🏽♀️Nothing a little cold water, cleaner, and paper towels can’t fix! And remember this comment section is a safe space to return to with questions or comments! You can even dm me on Instagram @directed_by_kennedy_dunning if you want to talk more privately! You got this. 🤩❤️
I got my period at 8 years old, in second grade my stomach suddenly started hurting but I didn’t think much of it and then I had to pee so I went to the restroom and looked down… I started panicking I knew what a period was because I always joked about it with my older sister and my mom I didn’t know what to do though, so I just picked my pants up and tried not to cry. I told some of my friends and they started asking a bunch of questions, I didn’t feel comfortable telling my teacher at the moment because he was man so I thought it would be awkward he was a really nice and funny teacher he started doing pushups in front of everyone, my stomach started hurting more to point I started crying but I was trying to suck it up, and then we switched to our math teacher’s room, I started crying while I was in line so my classmates started asking what happened but most of them were boys so I didn’t tell them. It was a free day so I kinda just sat there. A couple hours later, it was pick up time so I waited for my mom to pick me up she always picked me up late so I had to wait. And then she came to pick me up I said “I think I got my period” and she got really worried a couple days later she took me to the doctors and the doctor I got was very nice she told me that this type of stuff is normal. She was amazing and really helped me understand what was happening to my body.
I got mine at 10, and when I first saw it I was like “wtf? Whatever” and then I finally told my mom lol I was so chill about it because my mom always tells me about this before I get it

Bro, I have a story. So actually, this year in school I leaked a little. IN HEALTH THOUGH, THANK GOD. Never forgetting that though lmao, I EVEN STEPPED INTO THE HALL TO TELL HER. 😭🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
i’m so glad we’re starting to normalize periods- it shouldn’t be an uncomfortable topic that no one dares speak about, if someone with a uterus is bleeding they should be able to say “hey do you have an extra pad or tampon?” without someone calling them gross-
I feel like every girl should see this even if they have not had there period yet. Every girl should be aware of what happens when they get older. Great video!
i could relate to the one pad thing when I first got my period at school bc there's only 4 minutes to transition, the bathrooms are always full, and they put bathroom passes and you're only allowed 4 per quarter (this includes hallway passes like if you need to get something from your locker), but as a female or anyone in general you shouldn't put a limit or ask female students can they wait or why they didn't go during a certain time
Yup, sounds like my old middle school exactly. Something needs to change. Building an environment like that, where you’re supposed to learn, being worried/frustrated with your period shouldn’t be a thing.

7:12 I got a box from a company Ruby that that has a bunch of period stuff in it. And it actually had a few pairs of re-usable period underwear, I use them all the time.
I started them the night before the first day of fifth grade (I’m in fifth). My mom was helping me brush my hair (it’s very frizzy lol). I was already grumpy and so was my mom. I called her over, I wanted to cry after looking down and seeing blood. I knew I had to stay strong and kept in my tears. She came and was kind of anxious but handled it like a boss. She told my dad and very late at night went to Walgreens to get me pads. She quickly taught me how to use it. I love how my dad was not weirded out bc he only has 3 other older sons and I’m the only girl. I spent the night in bed just listening to Hamilton and I guess I was just happy to know that I’m healthy :)
I consider really nice of you to make a video about periods since they aren `t usually talked about. And distruibiting information about the topic and the right products and care. I got my period like a month after I turned ten. I was in 5th grade… 💀 story 👇 So one day while I was at school my stomach started hurting really bad and everything and I started crying because of it and I ended up going home early and when I went to the bathroom I was wiping and saw the blood… I screamed bloody murder. I had no idea what was happening to me and I was terrified- it’s been almost three years since and I can’t forget how I screamed bloody murder for my mom because I thought I was dying… my mom went to the store and came back like 10 minutes later and gave me me some pads and explained what was happening and what to do. Once in middle school I bled really bad through my kakhi skirt. Every girl in the class tried to offer me their sweatshirt to cover it, but I was honestly so done and just didn’t give a shit

I just got off mine 😌 I love this video it’s so helpful, this is so relatable in most parts 😭 on the other hand OUTSTANDING job on the hard work! 😊 hard work pays off 😄
YALL! I got mine at 12 and im 13 now going into high school. Here is some tips! Advil or Tylenol can help with cramps, but if it’s feeling really bad, then I suggest drinking tea to help or you can use some heating pad and I strongly suggest using reusable period Underwear because instead of having to waste products by using pads or tampons using reusable pads can be really good for the environment and it can last for around 16 hours before you need to wash them again! Hope this helps ❤️
When I got my period, I was 10, it was around 7:49AM. I just had pulled an all-nighter. I did NOT have the energy to deal with stained pants, getting up and putting on a pad, and just dealing with it in general. Luckily the blood didn't get onto my sheets. Yay...
Don’t be scared! 😭People make periods out to be more terrible than they actually are. 🙄Yeah, cramps hurt, your hormones will be a little wonky, and there is some blood to deal with but it’s just a part of having a uterus! 🤷🏽♀️Once you get it a few times, you find what works best for you. 💕And it’s a designated time in the month, where you should rest/take care of yourself, in any way that best suits you! ❤️
Love this video so much we need to normalize this some people think its disgusting but its a normal thing that happens to all girls. Don’t be ashamed!💗💗💗💗
I hate it so much when women would judge you for say if you had period stains or something. Was so pissed at it, I'm glad women are starting to normalize it. Great video to teach it.
this video came on my recommendations and when i started watching it i was caught be surprise when it said made by kennedy because thats my name💀 i love this by the way, it deserves more attention
I struggled with an ed for a long time, enough that my period stopped, so I’m always grateful whenever I have my period. It’s absolute hell, but it’s nice to know my body’s functioning better.
I'm going to a waterpark in a week and my period usually last a week and it's supposed to start in 2 days and usually heavy and painful and I only use pads so I really hope there is some type of miracle for my period to end before that
I got mine at 11, I’m visually impaired and was with a male TVI at the time, went to the bathroom every 5 minutes, I also have polycystic kidneys (thanks dad) so my first thought was that a cyst must’ve burst and I was bleeding out, that’s the most logical explanation my 11 year old self came up with 😅
My mom had breast cancer and she takes Meditation to make her period go away. She just got her period after a couple years. She is pissed at almost everything me and my brother say. I’m gonna say nice for a couple days because I don’t want to get thrown 😭✋
my first period was when i was 10. lemme tell you it was HORRENDOUS. i was about to go to bed when i realized my underwear felt rlly wet. i thought nothing of it and went to bed. i woke up and was getting ready to change into my regular clothes and start my day, when i took off my pants it looked like an actual crime scene and i started to cry 😭 i was holding the underwear and running around my house screaming to look for my mom and i go into the kitchen and just see my dad looking shocked at me. long story short my dad was the one to help me through it cuz my mom was at work 😭 if anyone thinks this is gross, i never really knew about periods when i was younger cuz i have alot of brothers and no sisters. my mom never taught me about it (she wasnt aware that i would get it so soon so no hate to her) but i thought i needed to go to the hospital lol
Loved this video, I personally get extremely bad gender dysphoria from it sometimes (I’m gender fluid) but videos like this are great to help us feel a bit better about it all.
My little sister was sleeping on my bed while I was on the top bunk and she was bottom bunk, and when we woke up (reminder she was 9 at that time and she is my lil sis) when we woke up she saw a puddle of blood on the bed and she screamed which woke my up and I looked down to see what it was, obviously, as a boy, I got freaked out too but I had to be calm infront of her since it wouldn’t make her more panicked and we called my mum and she ca,r in and she told my lil sister it was her period:) (I’m watching this because I want to understand more about what women go through and in any case if I can help since in the future I want to work as a doctor, but yeah thanks for reading if you did.)
I'm so happy I found this because umm I got mine really early when i was 8 and I still don't know a lot and im 10 now and hearing other people from there period life it help me feel like I'm not alone in this tysm for making this And I got one funny story to tell that happen to me 2 days ago I'm on my period rn so 2 days ago I had one monster flow I bleed way to much and i was at my grandma's house so I didn't have any pants or underwear there so I went to the bathroom cheated myself I had so much blood and lucky for me I had am oversized shirt so I wasnhiding it the whole day untill I got home and that was at like prob 10 so I got home and I changed for bed and the next day I go back the same thing happens u was tried I was lucky again I had a long shirt let's just hope it don't happen today
Oof lucky days. Remember to bring pads with you wherever you go. Maybe keep a stash at your grandma’s if that works with you! And thank you so much for the support ❤️
Thank you for talking about the environment for the sake of the earth rn, we dont have very much time to roam this earth. Our great grandchildren will probably not know what an earth is.
Im twelve and I've had my period for almost 2 years, and I STILL remember when I got mine! I was at a fundraiser meeting with a few other girls and I felt something leak and I thought it was no big deal, until I got home, went to the bathroom, and saw everything. I freaked out but now I just remember it as a funny story😄
I totally remember being nervous because of the noise 🙋🏽♀️but two things to remember. 1. It’s more important for you to put the pad on than to worry and not just because other people may hear it and think something about it. 2. They mostly likely won’t think anything about it because they may have their period and/or understand that’s what happens when you put a pad on. Don’t worry about it! Put that pad on so you can be comfy at school ❤️
So, I actually got my period in 4th grade, and like- I had NO idea of what it was, so when I got home... I was like changing and all that out of my uniform and like yk- and I literally screamed, lol. But, yeah.
I love how you are alao trying go normalize periods! I watch 3 others who help sm with advice but now you make a 4th one! Before, when i didn't know these videos existed, I was so scared and nervous for my period that i sometimes, on my bday, would check my undies to make sure there was no blood after my sister gave me the talk! I don't do that now as it is, but I haven't gotten my period yet! I'm nervous to watch periods around my family and idk a way to fix it! My mom knows I have pantiliners because I put them in a drawer next to her period drawer in her bathroom! Do you guys know any tips for wanting to watch periods but don't have headphones and is nervous? But I still love watching these for advice❤💋❤
Thank you so much! So sweet! 🥹One thing you can do is to tell your mom that you’re interested in learning more about periods since you’re growing up and want to be prepared. Maybe she’ll be understanding and won’t question the videos you’re watching. But if you think she wouldn’t react that way or you find the idea of that conversation a bit too embarrassing, you can try watching the videos quietly in the bathroom or before you go to bed. I’m here for any question you may have. This is a safe space. So cool of you to reach out!!! 💕
I highly recommend period underwear! i know it can be expensive but if you have a heavy flow period underwear + a pad is perfect, and i’m sure there are some cheaper ones as well.
Omg are you from forks? My grandparents and extended family lives out there in forks and La push on the reservation. It's great to see your sweatshirt representing where my dad grew up! Even though you probably just visited because the twilight
I wish I was from there! 😭It looks so dreamy!🤩 That’s so amazing that you have family there! 💕I’m a huge fan of the Twilight Saga/Movie Series and my sister bought me the sweatshirt for a Christmas gift 🎁!
6:11 Around that time it started talking abt period waste and the photo in the top left gave me a flashback to when I was like 8 years old I was at a beach with my friends and I found a tampon inserter or whatever it’s called in the sand so I picked it up and walked over to the adults (there were boys and girls) and asked what it was. After like a minute one of the moms took me aside and explained, so I threw it as far as I could and rinsed my hands in the water (I couldn’t wash them) Traumatizing knowing I touched something that somebody stuck up their area😭😭
like if your on your period right now, so I’m not alone😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

You made it through girl! 👏🏽 and thank you so much!!!! 💕❤️
JUST GOT OFF MINE TOO AYY
2:20 the punching your stomach due to cramps is so relatable ✋💀 i thought only i did that
whats that supposed to do?
@@Omgitscami no damn idea but it just happens 💀
HAHAHA sameeeee
Very helpful. Thanks for sharing!
Lucky I got mine at 10 😞😞
this was a bit too relatable with never changing the pad in school, still need to learn to stop being so scared and to just change the damn pad 😃
Yeah! Don’t be afraid! 🙌🏽🩸🙌🏽
yeah girl same! I used to be so scared and would open it really really quietly, but now I’m just like “oh whatevssss” and rip it open :) you got this
When I got my period, I was 10, it was around 7:49AM. I just had pulled an all-nighter. I did NOT have the energy to deal with stained pants, getting up and putting on a pad, and just dealing with it in general. Luckily the blood didn't get onto my sheets. Yay...
this literally is my fav short film on youtube other than “bras.” loving it 😇
omg thank you sooooo much ❤️
@@kennedydunning no worries!! i loved this!
Love this. Thanks for making it.
thank you so much !!!! 💕
I haven’t started my period, but I’m scared. So many girls complain and my friends about how bad and terrible it is. I just feel very worried.
@@kennedydunning ok thank you!
This is too relatable. (Well the start it) Also great job on this!

I hate it so much when women would judge you for say if you had period stains or something. Was so pissed at it, I'm glad women are starting to normalize it. Great video to teach it.

ayyyyyyy I love that name lol. Thank you so much Kennedy! ❤️
That alarm clock makes the same noise as mine so whenever it goes off in the video I jump and "wake up" 😭
I totally get you. It’s so scary. When I was editing the video, I would literally mute those clips so I wouldn’t jump 😭
I love the regular show t shirt!!!
thank you!!! one of the best shows ever!
I struggled with an ed for a long time, enough that my period stopped, so I’m always grateful whenever I have my period. It’s absolute hell, but it’s nice to know my body’s functioning better.
I'm going to a waterpark in a week and my period usually last a week and it's supposed to start in 2 days and usually heavy and painful and I only use pads so I really hope there is some type of miracle for my period to end before that
That sucks ! I’m praying for a miracle right with you! 🙌🏽💕
"yes, you heard right. ONE FUCKING PAD"
😂😂😂❤️❤️❤️
this is such a cool video, I really enjoyed watching it
thank you 💕
I got mine at 11, I’m visually impaired and was with a male TVI at the time, went to the bathroom every 5 minutes, I also have polycystic kidneys (thanks dad) so my first thought was that a cyst must’ve burst and I was bleeding out, that’s the most logical explanation my 11 year old self came up with 😅
My mom had breast cancer and she takes Meditation to make her period go away. She just got her period after a couple years. She is pissed at almost everything me and my brother say. I’m gonna say nice for a couple days because I don’t want to get thrown
😭✋
my first period was when i was 10. lemme tell you it was HORRENDOUS. i was about to go to bed when i realized my underwear felt rlly wet. i thought nothing of it and went to bed. i woke up and was getting ready to change into my regular clothes and start my day, when i took off my pants it looked like an actual crime scene and i started to cry 😭 i was holding the underwear and running around my house screaming to look for my mom and i go into the kitchen and just see my dad looking shocked at me. long story short my dad was the one to help me through it cuz my mom was at work 😭 if anyone thinks this is gross, i never really knew about periods when i was younger cuz i have alot of brothers and no sisters. my mom never taught me about it (she wasnt aware that i would get it so soon so no hate to her) but i thought i needed to go to the hospital lol
the ONE thing i like about my period is using a heating pad it feels so effing good
Omggggggg I loveeeee those ❤️
I’m 10, and I’m currently in puberty. I’ve been getting told I’m gonna get it soon and get a lot of stuff about periods. Is this a sign?

Thank you so much. 💕Now, that’s just horrific. Poor girl 🥺
@@kennedydunning no problem. and yea, but one of her teammates gave her a pad and they had an extra pair of pants

THIS IS SO COOL I LOVE THE FORMAT
hehehehe thank you!!!! 💕
I love the stories on the periods as I'm a 10 year old girl.
I love hearing period stories too. I’m 24 now and still do! ❤️
This is so sweet of you. Supporting your siblings is one of the most important things we can do. ❤️
I'm so happy I found this because umm I got mine really early when i was 8 and I still don't know a lot and im 10 now and hearing other people from there period life it help me feel like I'm not alone in this tysm for making this
And I got one funny story to tell that happen to me 2 days ago I'm on my period rn so 2 days ago I had one monster flow I bleed way to much and i was at my grandma's house so I didn't have any pants or underwear there so I went to the bathroom cheated myself I had so much blood and lucky for me I had am oversized shirt so I wasnhiding it the whole day untill I got home and that was at like prob 10 so I got home and I changed for bed and the next day I go back the same thing happens u was tried I was lucky again I had a long shirt let's just hope it don't happen today
Oof lucky days. Remember to bring pads with you wherever you go. Maybe keep a stash at your grandma’s if that works with you! And thank you so much for the support ❤️

When I’m at school I’m always nervous because I have to change my pad, and it’s makes so much freaking noises.
Why’d I get recommended this while my period just started 💀
they're watching you hehe
Same I woke up to cramps and this is the first thing that was recommended 💀
This helps me a lot i am on my second period time and i am feeling confident because of my mom is always there to help me
That makes me so happy for you! It’s always great to have family support ❤️
So, I actually got my period in 4th grade, and like- I had NO idea of what it was, so when I got home... I was like changing and all that out of my uniform and like yk- and I literally screamed, lol. But, yeah.
I’m so sorry little you had to go through that :/
@@kennedydunning yeah, but sometimes we have to get through things. :>
true that
I love how you are alao trying go normalize periods!

Around that time it started talking abt period waste and the photo in the top left gave me a flashback to when I was like 8 years old I was at a beach with my friends and I found a tampon inserter or whatever it’s called in the sand so I picked it up and walked over to the adults (there were boys and girls) and asked what it was. After like a minute one of the moms took me aside and explained, so I threw it as far as I could and rinsed my hands in the water (I couldn’t wash them)
Traumatizing knowing I touched something that somebody stuck up their area😭😭
“yes you heard, one fucking pad.”
