It'sAGundam you went from console to pc and never looked back. Great, glad you found your preference but it goes the other way also. Nothing wrong with that. I was strictly pc from the release of the first tomb raider up to the release of crysis 2. I got tired of the pc cycle of buy the best video card out, find out driver for card is fucked, month later driver bugs fixed, 2 months later there are better cards on the market. Felt like the pc market was just intentionally raw dogging it's customer base. So I bought a console and never looked,back. Yeah the guy you profiled needs a pc or a reality check but my point is, one platform is not superior to another. It's preference. Fuck the pc master race, fuck Sony ponies, fuck the Xbox fanboys waiting in line to gurgle Phil Spencer's baby batter. Pick a platform you enjoy.

It'sAGundam I would love to play on pc over consoles although ps4 has some great exclusives. But when I comment my question with pc gamers I never get answers. So I'll try one more time! Where can I find a ryzen or 1080ti for cheap? What antivirus,malware and protection programs should I use that are free? What sites besides steam can I find games? And how do I use older games such as ps1,2 and Xbox and 360? I needs bios for them all but the emulator sites never seem to work on their bios. Maybe I'm doing it wrong I dunno. My hopes you answer my questions because rags, beardedwonder and so many more hasn't answered anything.

Ive had Nintendo, MS and Sony consoles over the years, I only own 1 console each generation for 2 reasons... 1 I can't afford to support more consoles...2 even if I could there's no time to play everything on more then one console imo, right now I'm playing on PS4 as MS lost me this generation even though I was 360 all last gen, Blindly following a company is ridiculous! Go where the games u like are simple.
Agree, I got ps4 but I have it to play games with my buddies that dont have capable PC's. I dont expect much from it and when a new one comes out I wait a year until its 50% off, so at least then its partially worth the investment....lol
That game runs like garbage on my 8700k with a 1080Ti and they expect a note book CPU to run it at 60 lol.

Maybe at 4K it would be hared to run the game at 60fps, but its still VERY doable on PC, since there are options to lower resolution/graphics/ect. So yeah, i do blame consoles for being closed platforms, with no freedom to choose their own experience. I have no issue running Fallout 4 at 1440p 60fps Ultra, and with mods.. Something the consoles will never experience with that game apparently..

I'm glad they started doing these mid-gen console releases. It's part of the reason why I finally switched to PC and there's no way in hell I could ever go back. And if a gtx 1080 isn't getting getting 4k/60, they're out of their f'ing minds thinking a console will lol

With every new video I see some trends in the gaming landscape which I fear are inevitable at this point:
1. With every marketing induced iteration, consoles get more similar to PC.
Not only in hardware, but also in their superficial differentiation of ultra / mid-range / low-end target experiences within their own brands.
2. Future games have to be better optimized. Not because we gamers want it (god forbid), but because the console makers will demand it to not lose their faces.
See the whole 720p / 1080p / HD buzzwords, which are meaningless in the console ecosystem as soon as the usual resource hog of a game on PC comes along and behaves that same way on consoles.
3. There are more and more "gamers" out there with genuine mental problems.
Instead of realising and treating their illness, they publicly cry into their webcams.
I don't like where the mainstreaming of my hobby is going.

I'm a guy who owns a PS4, PS3 and a custom-built PC. Going custom isn't all that hard, and the level of difference between some console and pc games is mindblowing, Take a game like classic Vanilla skyrim. That shit boots up instantly on my PC, unmodded. And with mods, my game looks WAY better than any console version, could hope to be. I own the consoles, since I've been a Sony guy, since the PSX. Which means, I did indeed experience that terrible drought in games, when the PS3 came out.
I knew I made a better choice going wit ha PS4, over an XBOX, when friends I knew, were telling me months later, how they just stopped using it, and it was gathering dust in their bedrooms and living rooms. Every time they had an exclusive they went and ported it to PC, kinda negating the need for an XBOX. =/

It’s just an improved system, it’s a final tier system...it’s no different than the pro, the pro could have played in native 4K but Sony didn’t want to price out half their people’s...at this point though, the software really out does the hardware...The differences between the systems is so minute to the average eye that to those who can’t afford all the consoles you have to say “am I interested in really good exclusives or not?”

pretty sure it's because the consoles are holding gaming back. having to scale down most games so they can play on the outdated hardware in these consoles prevents the AAA games devs from making truly badass games. go back thru gaming history. even as far back as PS1 and PS2, they've been less powerful than PCs, but the main games are all made for them. how many "AAA" games do you see coming out that are PC only? i can't think of any. if they made one, it would shatter the illusion that these consoles are worth existing.

It's all about the money, because they can make more with multiplats and/or exclusives to sell their own systems/platforms.
the only blizzard game not available on console is WoW, right? overwatch and diablo 3 are both on console and were made with console in mind i'm pretty sure. and i don't think blizzards games are really "AAA", so i never considered them when thinking of AAA PC only games. i think Larian Studios makes better and higher quality games than Activision Blizzard. but that's just opinion.
the fact still remains that game devs making games for both console and pc have to scale back the scope and depth of their game when designing it to make sure it can run on the less powerful hardware of the consoles. less powerful processors, graphics cards, and less RAM all affect game performance and how much can be put in the game.
There is also StarCraft ;) but yeah beside that there's only WoW and that is considered AAA+, due to the subscription model.
Like I already said, I can understand your point, but keep in mind the difference between a console and a pc at the same price range isn't that much.
You would need a high end gaming pc to even run that "high quality" PC exclusive and most of those "downscaled" games can run with better graphics and framrates on PC anyway.
Ofc they could have made Skyrim much bigger and much better, but in the end they had to compromise something...just an example. It's all about money and profit in the end.

For $500 you could have a gaming computer in an Xbox one x.. if the devs would offer it.. his attack on the marketplace is thrown at Microsoft and consoles.. when it's really the developers choice to charge for mods. Xbox one x was a great purchase for my son. He has a gaming PC too, but when his friends come over.. it's clear what system he plays with his friends. When he plays online with his friends, that system is safer for him.. from my prospective.
It seems silly to treat this Xbox like a pc killer. It's designed for a unique market.. let it be judged in that market. Why try to apple and orange this? $500 won't buy you a gtx 1080ti. But it will buy you the best console on the marketplace..

LOL, did you even read what I said, Im getting 90 IN VR. If I was just running it on my UHD monitor, I'd be getting 120 fps. And the 1 X is closer to a 1060, but it's CPU is still underpowered.. and AC doesnt even run at 4k on 1 X, the hell you talking about
irgy7869 your right I guess. All the shit I seen put it between a 1060 and 1070. The processor power has never been an issue in any game. Not when it comes to graphics.
Also my bad on the AC, was thinking on F1. That got an update awhile back for 60/4k native.
What 4k headset you rocking lol? Because the only 4k headset iv seen, doesn't track head movement beyond left right and up down, and that's looking.. not moving

I was talking about my screen, headset is standard Oculus, and yeah F12017 and Forza 7 do run at 4k 60 on the 1X , I actually own one myself. My laptop is a monster for laptop, its got a i7 7820hk 32GB of RAM and a GTX 1080.

Gundam, looking at the XBOX One X starts off with the PSU which can output a max of 245 Watts.
Straight off the bat Micro$haft fucked up the design.
The "cooling solution" cools not only the CPU/APU but also the GDDR5 RAM.
This heat is then transferred to a shitty vapor chamber radiator which will be heat saturated in no time and the air is fed in by a blower cooler, whereby its source of cool air is not exactly plentiful.
So when it is running that SCALDING HOT air is then passed through the PSU to vent out the back. Now the least that will happen is that the PSU will lose 20%-30% of the maximum power it can supply when it gets hot. So of the 245 Watts the PSU could supply it will only be able to actually supply 196 to 171.5 Watts.
However power supplies tend to die when they are subjected to temperatures above 50 degrees Celsius which is going to happen pretty quickly IF YOU FORCE SCALDING HOT AIR through the thing.
The fact that the TIM (Thermal Interface Material) is essentially rubber means that the cooling of the CPU/APU is ineffective - which probably doesn't make much difference seeing as how the bloody piss poor little radiator is going to get thermally saturated in short order anyway.
So when we take everything into account, when the XBOX One X is running the PSU will OPTIMISTICALLY be able to output 196 Watts.
The 12 GB of GDDR5 RAM will consume 60-80 Watts of power and the other parts of the system (HD, Optical drive and USB) another 15-20 Watts.
Let's be optimistic again and say that of the 196 Watts the amount of power available to the CPU/GPU which comprises the APU will be 121Watts.
The RX 580 (which the GPU portion of the APU is supposedly based on) will consume around 300 Watts under gaming load.
Now subtracting the power needed by the 8GB of GDDR5 (40-56 Watts), that would mean the RX 580 GPU consumes 244 Watts under gaming load - which is about the same as what the PSU of the XBOX One X can supply in total.
I'm going to go with Scottie here and say, "Ye canna change the laws of physics" and state categorically that any and all claims made about the XBOX One X by Micro$haft are complete and utter bollocks.

FYI, I have an Xbox One S 2Tb Launch Edition. I also have a 4k tv. When you hook it up, there is a need to ensure you are on your right TV port for 4k HDR and 60 fps. My TV has it as Port 2 for example which threw me off. After I got it on the right port it stated it wouldn't do 50fps as it sees it can run at 60fps. Any game that can support only 30 fps will run at that, games that can support 60 fps will run at that. You are supposed to get 40% more perfomance from the X, meaning load times mainly I would say. You can get a hair more speed fps on average on optimised servers, but let's not forget that the S is impressive already. On PC, Forza 7 Load times vary wildly from system to system. I saw an average of 1:38 secs regardless of Fullscreen vs windowed etc that are supposed to remind the game to load the next race. (My PC has an 8 core 3.5GhZ Processor, 16GB Ddr3 ram and a Radeon RX 480 8GB Ram Video Card. Yeah not a 1080 TI or Titan but it should do the trick.) On S, it has loaded many races in the time it took to show which place I finished and give me my credit rewards. So, 40 % better than that won't look like much imo right now, until you see games only made for the extra boost from X and not really fully playable on the S.. which would be a sad day for everyone. My thoughts and experiences.

I mainly play on PC and use my old rusty PS4 for the exclusive or casual games when friends come over. Just enjoying the both worlds.
To be fair, Gundam. I play PUBG a lot and I get an average of 100 fps (min of 70 and max of 140) at 1440p with a mix of ultra, medium, and low.
Either way, it's always fun to make fun of Nxtgen720 who's name is perfect for an Xbox fanboy because that's the resolution they get... 720p.
Edit: That performance is on a 1080 and a 7700k. A decently close comparison for my average framerate in a shooter would probably be Titanfall 2. I don't do a lot of multiplayer so I can't really compare it to much.

My main appeal for console gaming is simple - for the MOST part, when you buy a console game, you know you can go home and play it. You know it's gonna run on the console, and run the way it's (intended).
When I had a significant income in the past, I delved into PC gaming, but regardless of the PC elite "u can build PC for cheaper dan consol lul" community, I still found myself spending more money on PC gaming via upgrades, hardware, ect.
I prefer a more casual approach, i.e. console.
My approach is - if I want to play the game as intended, console. If I want to play the game with mods, my PC.
My questions would then be; when did you build the PC, what upgrades did you make, why did you spend 1.5k, and did you not know that updates and game downloads are a thing on console?

Alright so I get that there are perks to playing on a pc. I built one myself early this summer and I love it. The games I play run smoother and look better overall than their console counterparts. Plus I can mod the fuck out of them if I choose to. The thing that I don't understand is why all of these elitist kids feel compelled to tell everyone how "superior" they are to those who happen to play on console? Yes, your machine is more powerful than a console but it's still exactly like being a fanboy.

This is exactly why I'm building a pc now , its Sept 9 2019 my deadline is cyberpunk 2077 so April 14 I think? 2020 I've got time so I'll buy a little here and there and get high quality components, I've started educating myself and I've got like 8 months or so , and I believe in that amount of time I will learn everything I need to know about building a pc so I'm done with Sony after my first experience on pc I'll never look back lol

I know this is old..but back when the Xbox 360 Arcade came out i got one and played Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion on it. Those FPS used to tank so badly and i used to get so irritated..
Not long after i saw the console for it was. The last good console i had was the PS2 slimline. Simple..fun..transport friendly. We knew it was primitive but that's what made it super fun! It didn't pretend to be something it wasn't. What a wonderful little machine that was..ah memories..

You know what Gundam, that is why the PS4 Pro exists. Sony recognized that completely bridging the gap this generation with current hardware and economy of scale was not going to happen. IE performance and affordability never quite crossed at the right vector. Now you will will never catch me saying the One X is a bad console far from it and I mostly respect Microsoft for showing us home brewed hardware, their engineer team dictating the hardware build. The day everybody said it was a true 4k machine is the day I knew that was a lie. Not even the first 5 games that announced compatibility and optimization hit that target, much less 60fps. To add insult to injury almost every game on Xbox is a multi-plat so in turn they never get to see the extra steps needed to get the One X optimized to the metal like you would see on an exclusive. Most devs or publishers are going to dial up the details for the X and run the same checker boarding that they have dialed in for the larger install base for PS4 Pro..(14 million estimated, literally almost half of all Xbox One's ever sold) with the exception of excellent companies like Crystal Dynamics/Others? that may have worked out extra optimization deals with Xbox for really nice results. Tomb Raider does look substantially better on the X. Or you get 4k but you have some frame pacing issues, 30 fps and horrible screen jutter. Pub G...yeah people with two thousand dollar pc's cant run that game without issues. One thing I can say about the X and the S at least they are not hideous to look at and are a great size to fit in your entertainment space, you would have never caught me buying the original launch device....lets be honest it was weak, large for no reason and hideous..on top of that size it had a huge external power supply. The S is the console I was looking for and that is the one I ended up with. Its a great console, I dislike the UI and I am waiting for some games. Just finished GOD of War yesterday and it was such an enjoyable treat, like slowly eating your favorite cheesecake with a side of violence and epic story telling...LOL Thanks for your insightful ranty style with a huge measure sarcasm on the side.

I have console and PC. What really makes me choose PC as my preference are the types of games. There are a lot more hardcore experiences. More tactical shooters and sims, and the strategy games. I love the strategy games that have a campaign with one explicit objective and everything else, the battles and stepping stones to get there all your choice, like Fallen Haven. Some of favourite games I felt were ruined when they started to include the console(not because of hardware limitations, but mentality). Ex: Mech Assault or SWAT: GST
The only console I own is a switch, because it's a switch and they are neat and portable. My PC is king
I think I played games on PC before console. Childrens games that were more for learning because that's what we had as lower-middle class in the 1990's. Then was getting N64, GBA, PS2, Xbox (the first model) along the way after they had been out for a bit, then eventually Xbox 360 for myself and a few different laptops (one I need to see about replacing the screen on so it can be used). I don't have anything newer than Xbox 360 Slim, not because I know PC is better in so many ways, but because I was an adult by the time Xbox One, PS3, etc. came out, and I spent much of my adult life being homeless, and even when I did have a place to live, I spent less than what those consoles cost for laptops rather than a new console that with the games available on it that I would play, I would probably only have like 6 games across Xbox One, PS3, and newer, which I wouldn't consider worth the investment and space, especially when being homeless or frequently having to move.
But why did he buy an Xbox One X, though? I thought he had a $12,000 PC... Remember that?

I do think that pre built pc purchasers do seem to get a bad rep. I, for example went out and bought an acer nitro 5 for about $670 after tax. I know close to nothing about PC's because i just always grew up playing on consoles. Now I'm just starting to get into pc gaming. I just went out and bought a pre built because i didn't need a super computer or anything. All i did was go up and ask the techs, "hey can it run this, this, and this?" And they said yep. So i bought it. And sure enough it runs Space engineers, warframe, and other games just fine. And that's all i needed. I dont have alot of time to even play games and what time i do i like to play with my buddies or chill alone. So the way i see it is the extra charge for a prebuilt pc that is overpriced is paying for convenience. Like going to a restaurant and paying $11 bucks for a burger and fries that you could have done at home for round $3. It's a big difference, but it's also a big difference in convienece of having to season, grill, and clean. Or study, price search, and source specific parts. That and i needed something portable as i travel frequently to and from hotel and such. So having a tower was kind of out of the question anyway.
