Stephen wasn't a great singer back in the day, as it was all about attitude with him. He's even worse now and not doing the songs justice. No high range at all.
Its the cell recording man, You never attended his concerts? Also they put his vocals to let AI mixed well with it. Cannot be that naive to think its 100% his live vocal here. In some parts he sounds almost like on records 40 years later. They all use AI now. Check out the last Judas Priest you think Halford still sound like that live? C'mon time for a reality check
It's the cell phone recording. The band (except Stephen) sound checks before every show. Live, it's balanced. Sounds fine. Regarding the other reply ... Pearcy doesn't use backing tracks. What you hear from Stephen is Stephen, for better or worse.

I saw Stephen earlier in the year in St. Charles, IL. And he was amazing. He sounded great, was in great spirits and put on a fantastic show.

@DG191145 true,soundcheck are always well done during his tour as there is zero schedule pressure.
They can play hours before the show start.
He’s right in front on the band.. The PA is on the side of this.. I always ask people when they film to step back about 20 feet. lol.
It never sounds that great when you're that close to the stage...as you back up, the sounds come together and it sounds much better.
