Suarez has a huge football IQ. He has a knack of getting himself into the right place at the right time. His style of play will provide some great learning opportunities for the younger players.

Regarding Inter Miami’s celebration for Messi. Absolutely AWESOME. I’m looking forward to watching the celebrations and friendly match - Saturday in Sydney.

Perfect add for Inter Miami, Messi is incredible, there is no one like him in the world, but... he needs players who can understand how to play with him in attack, play creation, passes between lines and quick wall passes. Messi, Suárez, Busquets and Jordi understand each other perfectly, Campaña will need to keep the pass. I can see Farías play but not very often, he needs a couple of years of football to stop making so many mistakes and break team momentum. Suárez injured refused to go to the bench to continue playing, super competitive. We need that fire to fight for every ball. By the way, if all MLS teams are afraid of Miami when Messi plays imagine Messi/Suárez. We are going to see many teams putting 11 goalkeepers + 11 from the bench + coach staff to play🤣

🤣 Soooo true. Agree with everything you said. Taylor I suspect will adjust very well and quickly with Suarez. He’s already shown his potential with Messi. Cremaschi has shown a couple of flashes too. With the benefit of preseason training with the full team, they should hit the ground running next season. Exciting times 🙌💪🏽

I love if Suarez will be an addition to the team! He will not be the same but still the same. Playing football is about coordination mentally, physically and the 4 fathers if Suarez will come has that coordination with 3 fathers.

Its great, but concerned hell be about injured a lot. Also they need that god damn central defender.

He’s played a ton of minutes this season and avoided major injury. I think some of these older players really understand their body well and understand how far they can push. Hopefully we develop a good enough rotation where we don’t push them beyond that point.

Does anyone know if the CB Leandro González Pírez (currently on loan at River Plate) is any good? I assume he'll be back sometime soon. He seems to be starting consistently at River Plate

did you all see tonight what is the problem???? Atackers need to get the ball, and they don't get it where they should, onlyplayers who gets a pass to Messi are alba or busquets...Suarez needs 5shots to make a goal.. how wil he score???he would have 5shots in 5games...this is not looking good...

I know this is fan podcast, but from a journalistic and interest standpoint, it would be helpful to get some additional viewpoints - so I will provide it. I love the unbridled enthusiasm about Suarez's signing, but I can't help but feel you guys are overlooking some important things.
First, let's address the commentary on getting players to take pay cuts for the opportunity to play with Messi and company. Yes, from a pure fan standpoint, that is absolutely what we would do. But keep in mind that these players are professionals in a sport where their primary earning years span maybe a decade, if they're lucky. When you're a top tier player earning tens and hundreds of millions of dollars a year, taking a 50% pay cut may not heavily affect your lifestyle. MLS; however, only has an average salary of about $500k. Asking someone to take a 50% pay cut out of that during their limited earning period and expecting them to live off that for the rest of their life with no guarantee of any career after is asking a lot. If I were a professional in the MLS, I would not do that to myself or my family, regardless of whether or not that meant I could play with some of the best players.
Piggybacking off that, like I said, the career length of an average soccer player is about 8-10 years. You're getting excited about Voltroning a 2015 Barcelona team together that was in their prime nearly 9 years ago. Needless to say, all these players (Messi, Suarez, Busquets, Alba) are well past their primes. There's no doubt that they are still incredibly talented high IQ players who can create moments of magic that can turn the tide of a game, but there's a reason why there's a prime in sports. As you age, your body doesn't wear down linearly. The aggregate beating you take in your formative years wears more heavily and you become more prone to injury. It sounds like from your discussion that you're assuming injury concerns are down to luck. It feels like you're not only discounting the age factor, but also you're not taking into account lifestyle, diet, training, playstyle, travel, and numerous other things. I'd be more concerned about the travel, as flying across country to play in a game is much different from taking a 1 hour bus or plane ride to play a game like most of the players from European leagues are used to. Some of the MLS pitches are still artificial turf, which will only hurt a player like Suarez's chances of staying healthy all season. We already saw this issue with Messi and Alba this year from their muscular injuries, and it's only going to be worse next year.
This brings up the next issue, which is Tata's preferred style. Tata likes to implement a high press, with full backs carrying the ball forward like wingers. The major issue with this tactic is that it: (1) leaves you vulnerable to the counter and (2) requires a lot of running. Apart from Busquets, who has to do limited running as a defensive midfield pivot, a certain work rate would be expected out of the remaining players. You can build around a few stationary players. For example, in the World Cup, the Argentina squad was built around Messi. His relative lack of mobility was made up by the hustle of De Paul behind him and Alvarez to his right (and who was just everywhere around the pitch). You're not going to get the same coverage by Suarez, so they're going to need to rely on their superior football skills and IQ to keep possession up the pitch, otherwise a good counterattacking side would have a field day against this lineup. The counterattack can be somewhat mitigated by quick and decisive center backs, but I don't really consider Miller or Kryvtsov the most rapid or skilled of CBs - or at least I wouldn't trust them to protect against a counter.
That being said, Miami's overall defense is fairly weak. I can see them struggling against teams willing to park the bus in front of goal and wait for the counter. If anyone goes down with an injury in the defensive starting lineup, it's ever weaker. All their youngsters who are stacked in the midfield, who thus far haven't really impressed me defensively. I can just see this team dominating a stretch before running out of gas to do anything effective like what happened post-Leagues Cup. I know the Suarez move is to make fans and Messi happy, but if I were Miami, I would have invested into some fast and strong legs in defense.

A lot to digest here, thanks for the in depth thoughts!
As far as the salary/paycuts go, I don’t think there will be hordes of players chomping at the bit to take a reduced salary. We simply posed it as a discussion as it would not be surprising if there were a couple MLS veterans that signed up for one last hurrah. That said I think they will be outliers to some extent.
Aging stars: It is what it is, these guys are old. But we’re also talking about skill level that at their baseline is a level or two above many other players of this league. The schedule congestion - combined with Tata’s tactical preference in how we play - with all the competitions Miami are playing in will need to be delicately managed, no doubt, and injuries will inevitably come up. However, fielding a starting XI with these players will make us one of the best teams in the league when at full strength.
We no doubt need to bolster our defense to defend counters. We saw that as our major weakness even after adding Messi & co. We mentioned LGP who is on loan at River Plate. I also imagine IMCF will be active when the transfer window properly opens in adding more bodies at CB and wingback.
We have a lot of talented youth in the squad that should continue to develop, especially under the tutelage of these behemoths of the game. At times, they will need to provide the spark. So long as we can have contributions elsewhere, Miami will be in the top tier of the table no doubt.
