First; Every Cover should have an originality to it... Unless your intention is to do a tribute. Dude is playing a soprano sax, not a flugelhorn. Number two he is DESTROyING that sax, clean playing, chops galore... I love that he took he Kenny G. vibe and put it on a GREAT song... I can't understand all the negativity. Tell you what bothers me about this video more than anything... the audience not being quiet and respectful towards these musicians... Music is exploration... Miles would fire you if your solo one night, was the same as the night before. Jazz is invention, creation. GREAT JOB!!!
It's overdone. That's why. He's not playing in a concert. He's just doing a gig. Typical showoff. He plays well but too much showmanship. Hats off to guitarist though. The idiot that's filming is not even aware that the guitarist was playing the solo part. SMH
Well played by everybody. The soprano sax did a great job and the guitar solo was the same that Grant Gaissman did in the original recording, and that is not an easy solo to do.

This started nicely but I stopped listening when the musicality fell away. Pointless circular breathing (and trills) like this serves no useful purpose and sounds like shit. It can certainly build tension when used sensibly and intelligently in a solo that goes somewhere, but not like this. I didn't know why the audience reacted favorably. It's like being able to play trumpet "extreme register" high notes in isolation or exercises, but not usefully in a musical setting. That's a "no" from me.
