Nnamdi, u really do ur homework. It’s a shame Athena’s solo deal didn’t see the light of day. Keeping it 100: I never really knew Kut Klose with a strong vocal ability, so Athena’s chance would’ve made me see different. But it’s a shame how she blew her chance. And it had to be on her, since the label dropped her. Some artists in the business, as a whole, aren’t easy to get along with, I’ve heard. Many artists, & ppl of the world 🌎 , should practice humility!. “Take It Out On Me” -nice song. I gotta look for that album. Side note: I just finished listening to Athena’s album: “He Changed His Mind” is my favorite song. I salute 🫡 Tim & Bob. Damn good work. Not overproduced!. Simple & Basic. 🔥
That’s crazy I have that Athena Cage song Take It Out On Me & there is another song I loved it was called You both songs are on TH-cam. Sad that album never came out she made a lot of mistakes in her career from Kut Klose to going solo it’s to bad because she could sang her a$$ off💯
Reminds me of Tracie Spencer. Remember her Tender Kisses!! I loved Athena Vocals in Get Up On it with Keith Sweat! I just recently watched Tabitha singing with Kut Klose. I miss the 80's and 90's music!!!!!
I love Athena she’s one of my favorite vocalist of all time. This song also is beautiful but I don’t think it fits her… Like someone previously said I could hear Janet or Ciara..Or maybe even Aaliyah’s tone… For some reason Athena sounds better on songs with 808s more low end
Whoever her manager was ruined her career. They put her on a suicide mission. She was in good hands with Tim and Bob and fumbled later to get dropped. Sad case.
I definitely agree to that Music Production is so Fire I remember when Bobby V first dropped Slow Down I listen to that song for a month before I listen to the whole album 💿💯
The song is nice, the melody is gorgeous & what draws me in the most, however she's not the right vocalist 4 that song or needs a totally different song altogether (in my opinion). Sounds too much like JJackson's Making Love In The Rain by Herb Alpert. Doesn't mean JJ should sing it, it just needed it's own sound not the H Alpert sound which ppl would immediately think is that JJ singing/song? Maybe AC knew that & didn't want that esp if the whole album sounded like that & she has stronger vocal chops too. She wanted to make a name 4 herself & come n2 her own. It's a catch 22 bc she prob wanted to do her own thing & she knew she had the skills but at the same time needed to get her foot in the door w/out being a problem child. Who knows 4 sure, there's 2 sides to every story & then there's the truth, so sad to hear.
I don't think it's the song bcuz the melody is gorgeous. I don't think she's the right vocalist 4 that track, they needed someone else. Maybe she knew it too.
@@juliemcdaniel499 Yes you're right in that it sounds like a Janet record but not every record should always sound like that person. You can have "knockoff"'s and "copycats" as long as the ish sounds good and the originators get recognition then why should that ish you're typin' matter?
You're right. Athena's vocals and the production kind of reminds me of a slower version of Feels So Right or an updated version of Making Love In The Rain.
I see a lot of Gen Z people in the comments here that don't know their 80s e-soul bonafide sound. Tim & Bob capture the three best producers of the last 4 decades into one sound...that's why Tim & Bob were so bad a**: LA & Babyface....Teddy Riley.....and Jimmy "Cornbread Jr./bka James Harris III" Jam & Terry Lewis
I wonder what was going on with Athena to curse out Tim, and Bob. This song does sound good. Athena is talented. Tim, and Bob are talented also. This song sounds like Janet Jackson could of sung that song also. Keep up the good work! God bless you, God bless everyone! 🙏💜
Sounds like something Janet Jackson or Ralph Tresvant would be great on
JJ 4 sho.

I like her song "Until you come Back to me" it was unreleased " on youtube
It's crazy to know that Tim and Bob work with everybody, I still have this CD to this day and never knew that they did this work...🕛
Whoever her manager was ruined her career. They put her on a suicide mission. She was in good hands with Tim and Bob and fumbled later to get dropped. Sad case.
Tim And Bob Are Real Talented Music Producers
I definitely agree to that Music Production is so Fire I remember when Bobby V first dropped Slow Down I listen to that song for a month before I listen to the whole album 💿💯
She had a good album smh💯💯
Kind of sounds like Janet Jackson...she's amazing!

I don't know why she did not want to release that album, but the music on Athena her project was fantastic! 🔥🔥🔥
This song was amazing!! 🔥 🔥
Ummm I hate to say it but that song is very mediocre and it would have never been a single
I don't think it's the song bcuz the melody is gorgeous. I don't think she's the right vocalist 4 that track, they needed someone else. Maybe she knew it too.
Whoa I DISSagree. It could have been a single. You weren't raised on Flyte Tyme/Tabu Records electronic soul like many of us have been.
@@TheReal_E.IRIZARRY sounds 2 much like a JJackson song not AC herself. I'm thinking a song on the "B"side not so much the "A" side.
@@juliemcdaniel499 Until you come back to me" song better it unreleased also its on youtube

Keith Sweat probably should've produced her. I think he and his camp were probably the only ones that could handle her, at the time. Ego tripping.
Baby by the early 2000s Keith was falling off himself. He was barely selling himself he couldn’t rescue nobody else’s career.
Reminds me of an Amerie song.
Amerie IMHO is the late Kenny Greene of INTRO reincarnated into Mixed female form. IJS LoL
The pitch is too high for her. Teddy Riley would have been able to write to her range.
That song still sounds great.
That's crazy once you think you know people especially in the music business you don't I didn't know she was a Diva!
Maybe, maybe not, somebody could've got in her ear but it's sad though.
Tabitha Duncan has been saying Athena had this capability to eclipse out at times.
@@kevinprater7961 So basically it seemed Athena had an attitude is that the real reason why the group broke up in the first place??
I don’t think it fit her voice.
It does.
It sounds like a Janet Jackson song.
You're right. Athena's vocals and the production kind of reminds me of a slower version of Feels So Right or an updated version of Making Love In The Rain.
Exactly
That's exactly who I thought of.
🔥🔥🔥🔥 beautiful song wrong artist. Tamia or Janet would have killed this. 💯
i agree, its very tamia
It wasn't a great lead single. she was right but she went about it the wrong way.
Maybe you had to be there.. cause I'm not really feeling that song. It sounds like an album filler that I would skip more times than I listen.
Thank you…this ain’t it
Great topic, great group.
Please get that to mya or meelah from 702

Omg I didn't realize Athena Cage was in Kit Klose! I love her song Live Your Dreams from Save the Last Dance!
Yes she is.
No, Kween Wana! Athena Cage was in Kit Kat. Git it write. LoLoLoL
1:27 - 2:56 Lol Wow
Pretty Song.
I know, someone must have gotten into her ear. Sadly karma came back. Tim and Bob got paid from Capitol to get her direct
🔥🔥🔥🔥

"Take it Out on Me" is cute. Album filler at best. Someone else would've done the record justice tho. Imo, Athena's sound is Keith Sweat's creation.
You mad. That had single potential.
@@TheReal_E.IRIZARRY You sound crazy. Plenty of other comments have my same sentiments.
My sentiments exactly ..it would’ve NEVER been a single and damn sure not a hot single
