One would be amazed the lack of knowledge of big TH-cam posters not knowing what is meant by “port”, and “starboard” sides of a ship. This video was spot on. Thank you!!!
Except for the last ship disaster. The audio says the ship suffered a gash on the Starboard side, but the video shows the gash was on the Port side. I watched it twice just to be sure I had heard it right the first time. Port is the left side and Starboard is the right side of a ship. The video clearly shows the left side of the ship being gashed. Oh well, I guess 14 out of 15 is pretty good.
@@williamromine5715 Yes, I had to watch that bit over again. The gash was shown to be on the port side but capsized on the starboard.
What about the Minnow??? "The weather started getting rough
The tiny ship was tossed
If not for the courage of the fearless crew
The minnow would be lost, the minnow would be lost"
What gets me is that the Minnow WAS lost. 😲
Sea Diamond segment included photo of Costa Concordia. Two different ships sinking in two different places in different years. Still dramatic and traumatic for those onboard.
Came here expecting to see the Exxon Valdez.........
Was expecting a segment on the Mont Blanc, a cargo ship full of ammo exploded in the Halifax harbor after being hit by another ship.
What sad, mostly needless disasters. 😮😮😮
A fascinating & very informative video upload. Thank you for all your hard work in researching this upload. Another great video from a great channel.
Andrea Doria and Stockholm.
Andrea Doria sank, Stockholm was repaired and renamed several times, still exists today.
Before this gets popular
Please don’t think your humor in the Carnival Triumph ‘breakaway’ went unnoticed. That whole narrative had humor in it that appropriately took advantage of the facts presented. Great job!
Cool video charlie sheen. And this is why orcas have been attacking boats probably
I can't unhear the voice and not picture Charlie now...
So the ship that ran aground in the suez canal that interrupted the trade of dozens of nations didn't make this list??
Think this was a repost compilation from earlier videos. The latest instance on this one is august 2020.
Maybe, Top Fives concluded that it was neither a collision nor a mistake. 😉
Why would an insurance company employee get time in prison?
If a ship is registered to multiple countries, multiple companies or somewhere remote and unrelated... it means it's either running illegal material or is unsafe... or both... and the operators know it.
If you are referring to the "Arvin" segment, it was registered under different flag countries, at different times, under different owners. Not suspicious. Unless you are referring to a different segment?
@@thomasmoeller3446 I am referring to ANY ship. It has been a known tactic to avoid responsibility/blame or insurance for centuries. It is still used by most countries today, especially to avoid sanction restrictions.
What do you mean. Can you give some context.
I would just like to point out that you said it tore a gash on its starboard side and the video you made is of the port side (#1)
Can't blame Carnival Triumph trying to escape Mobile, Al. Have you been to Mobile, Al.
Port of entry for Fire Ants and in the 1980's was the VD capital of the USA. Only two of the many reasons to try and escape Mobile.
But, yea, blame it on the wind.
Why does the narrator say that the ship struck the "Delta" support of the "Bay Bridge", but the video shows nothing but the Golden Gate Bridge? I caught some mispronunciation and irrelevant pictures to the description, too, but still some interesting videos.
It’s just sad how much damage is happening to our oceans.
Yes it is however, did you hear about the new way of cleaning oil out of the ocean? They use soundwaves pretty cool
What mysterious thing caused the MS Costa to crash so suddenly?
Just want to make a small correction. M/V Arvin wasn't aground. The ship was anchored awaiting the weather to calm so they can pass Bosphorus strait.
Love the pronunciation of "Tan-zany-er"! It's Tan-zan-ear!
Was gonna make a similar comment but then saw yours. I only made the comment about the narrator talking about a ship striking the "Delta support of the Bay Bridge" and then showed nothing but the Golden Gate Bridge area. Two different bridges.
😢
Safety can't prevent stupidity. Also double hulls tankers
How did you get through 15 of these and not include the Exxon Valdez incident or the ship that wedged itself to block the Suez Canal?
13:15 COASTAL CELEBRATION, INSPIRATION OR RENAISSANCE, (BC FERRIES)
The Cosco Busan's collision with the Bay Bridge was due to the bar pilot being drunk. Needless to day he lost his license. Too bad you did not mention that significant fact.
Why are you showing footage of Concordia while describing Sea Diamond, did you think we wouldn’t watch that close?
You left out the HMAS Melbourne and USS Voyager collision that sank USS Voyager....
Sorry.... only half right!.....The aircraft carrier HMAS Melbourne collided with and sank the HMAS Voyager in 1964. Five years later the HMAS Melbourne sank another destroyer, the USS Frank E. Evans in the South China Sea.
I know Costa Concordia got that. Titanic got collisons on the iceberg lmao
I bet Dali is the biggest one now
shame on ms costa concordia
Your voice over said the ship hit the Bay Bridge, but the photos show the Golden Gate Bridge. 🤷
So if you T-Bone another ship do you exchange insurances or something lol I'm trying to figure out why these big boats are always hitting stuff they're at the top of the freaking boat, and how could you not see the pier? Or another boat? Oh my gosh I laughed so hard I
Profit, peofit profit !!!
Oops
Costa Concordia was not an accident,it was an idiot captain showing off to his family.
Port, left, both 5 letters.
Ummmm… are you sure? Count again please, and remind me not to let you handle a cash register!
Port..... Left. Four letters both.
Isn't it funny that the biggest ships are owned by the poorest countries, that basically wouldn't give 2 hoots about safety, environmental issues, or any other consequences of any disaster?...
They just shrug shoulders, go "meh" and move on.
Two of the victims of the Costa Concordia were a local couple from here in the Twin Cities, Minnesota. They never traveled anywhere because they were raising their children and putting them through private school and college. They had literally waited to take their “trip of a lifetime”. They were the only Americans killed in the tragedy, all for the captain’s stupid stunt of steering close to shore to show off.
Good thing that a-hole is still in prison.
You ought to research the facts before you hold one man responsible for the disaster, there are many factors that caused this and the aftermath.
McStains name should be removed from all ships and any memorials or other places it may be . He left a stain everywhere he visited . He was a complete disgrace .
show the clips
the insurance agent who got thrown in jail had nothing to do with anyone on the ship causing it to round aground. making examples of people doesnt work.
why they dont offload beached ships is dumb as fuck. there was literally nothing stopping anyone from offloading the oil. being to lazy or its too expensive is never any viable excuse. if its needed. its not too expensive.
i dont get why people freak out so bad when oil spills. it was pulled out of the earth and can go back into it. one areas dead animals isnt tragic
Titanic and Estonia are easily world's most famous and BIGGEST ship collissions and mistakes and by the way my birthday is in september 28 just in a same day with a MOST terryfying ship collision/mistake Estonia what is in my opinion even worse than Titanic, but Did you guys heared about of Costa Concordia's Collission/Mistake, it's not that famous like Titanic and Estonia but it's one of BIGGEST ship collision/mistake in history too. History of shipping have been learned to us we have to make MORE safier and STRONGER POWERFUL ships. I'm glad here in Finland a ship architectures and builders are making safety ships in Rauma's Telakka, my uncle have been in building My Star ship what I wan't to try and I really wan't to try Norway's fjørn cruise ship cruises too. Ships are humanity's most AMAZED traveling vehicles, with these we use way of the water. 🌎🌍🌏🌊🌅🚢⛴️🛳
Whutup, fellow Libra. Ever hear the whole story behind the Titanic? Who was all on board, how it changed industry, and the court trials that came after? Competition eliminated, mob/gang mentality, cutthroat business.
@@aaronh1372fellow libra is a new story for me. 😮
@@Leo-pd4fc Yeah, why u "Leo"?
You are BOTH completely wrong! 😡
It’s obvious that 1980’s Robocop would smash Cyberdyne Systems model T-101 Terminator Arnie!!
You bunch of Robophobes!
