Not an intentional oversight. Intended to fail. Bill Gates funded a hydroxychloroquinte study where the "placebo" was vitamin C. clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04328961
The two problems with the CITRIS-ALI study were the significant delay in starting the IV Vitamin C and the fact that the SOFA scores of the dead in the placebo group were ommitted. So, if they had been included, he admits in another video, it would have likely been significant.
Yes, called selection bias. What was crazy about the abstract was it omitted report of the changes in mortality. Most significant outcome, much more important than the organ failure scores. The scores are an important means of gauging prognosis, but they seem to not be as accurate if vitamin C treatment is in the mix. This is probably an effect that may be highly dependent on aspects that have yet to be identified - other trials looking at patients with organ failure have either also shown a benefit or have not shown benefit (in terms of mortality and hospital time). Given there are few downsides, it seems like a potentially useful adjuvant treatment.

I'm an expert in metabolism, and let me tell you that Vitamin C is implicated in MANY pathways! DO NOT take more than 2 grams per day!! They are infusing larger doses - but only for a few days - not constantly!
@@SexyGreek26 I"ve been taking 5 grams for years ,and so has a relative, and older gentleman friend from work (who I heard it from), and he's sharp as a whip. Nothing wrong with them. This is another example of a bogus case study of vitamin C. The doctors "high-dose" clinical trial was only 5,000 mg every 6 hours for a 220 lb man. Why didn't he use 10x this amount?
It surprised me that this trial failed to show improvement in SOFA and biomarkers. I know that analysis has pointed out that they waited until serious ARDS had developed before administering 200mg/kg/day; but i was expecting at least some effect. Hopefully we see some additional work done, the only thing really saving it was that secondary measures like hospital stay were very positive.
@@assexpert Well you are correct in the sense that its the slang use of the word, not the measurement unit: "(in units of measurement) denoting a factor of one million (106)". 1 mill mg of vit c is 1000g. It depends also on what time intervals are used. Is it per day, or is it per week, or is it per dose? 200mg/kg/day is a good start, but many diseases probably need more like 500mg or 1000mg/kg/day to achieve fast clinical effect. The only objection to this that I saw raised in a discussion was to do with osmolarity, and the osmolarity calculations for Vit C infusion that I saw on Riordan Clinic's website suggest that the rate of infusion can be quite fast, approximately 20min for a 15,000mg infusion. It must depend a bit on the acidity/concentration of the particular vitamin c theyre using, Im fairly sure they said they were using buffered sodium ascorbate, as opposed to pure ascorbic acid in the Fowler trials.
@@sami-pe1no Don't believe him. IV is most likely better. It goes directly into your blood stream. Just make sure a doctor is over seeing it. Don't buy IV Vitamin C online. You can't buy a reputable product online without a doctor's license.

Many centres are using marik protocol and the results are mixed, which is to be expected with only 6g per day of infusion. This is because dosage is primarily disease and patient dependent, with bodyweight being a critical consideration. This is why dr levy would use wildly different dosages, one case he claims to have treated a bed ridden young female swine flu patient with a starting dose of 50g and then up to 80g per day...(i think, ill edit later if wrong). I think thats a good example of how far apart integrative medicine and mainstream medicine are on this treatment option.
