Lil John was really aware of the importance of his presence. Not just as an entertainer but the historical significance of why he was there.
In 2020 lil john boarded a 6 am flight on election day to get back to Atlanta in time to vote because his absentee ballot didn’t arrive in time. He wouldn’t have missed this for anything.

All the songs were relevant to the state somehow. Either the artist was from the state (Stevie Nicks from AZ, Eminem from MI), or the song selected had some connection to the state (Country Roads for WV, Sweet Home Alabama) or some other connection (Bill Clinton used Don't Stop by Fleetwood Mac, hence it represents Arkansas, while Biden used Higher Love, so it's there for Delaware).

The whole roll call was pretty epic. Possibly the greatest state roll call since they started doing it.
Thinking about it, though, it may simply be that way because there was less divisiveness in the party than there ever has been, short of renominating a sitting president. There's not going to be any hard politicking this year. Everyone is united behind Harris. Everyone is really clear on goals like reproductive rights, religious freedoms, and what our country was founded on, basically just do the opposite of whatever the GOP is doing and they've got the platform. So they can just focus on basic policy questions and then party all night long.
This is gonna set the stage for future DNCs. Every state will try to out do each other during roll calls and I'm here for it.

I also don't think the polls are as close as they say they are--the polls have been way off since Barack Obama was president! The method of polling hasn't caught up to today's technology--many people aren't answering unsolicited calls either. Polls aren't taking into account fundraising--Trump brought in what? $139 million for the month of July? Kamala brought in $300 million during the last two weeks of the month! Her campaign now has $500 million on hand. The RNC is well below that. Kamala has the excitement, momentum, money, and a growing coalition of Republicans and Independents joining Democrats. We saw numerous Republicans at the DNC speaking out and many more speaking out in the news. How many Democrats do you see speaking on the Republicans' behalf? All they've got is MAGA, and that's why they need to enact their voter suppression tactics. They need to keep the numbers down because we outnumber them. In Trump's words, "by a lot! believe me."
I think people will TURN out and it really will be a landslide. The excitement is real.
