VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
Tom and Jody wanted to start living before retirement age, so they took it into their own hands! They sold their large home, downsized into an apartment, then self-converted a 2005 All-American Blue Bird bus to call home!
The layout is functional, with a spacious living room that lives as a dining area with a couch but also transforms into spare beds for additional guests. Tom loves to cook, so the kitchen took priority with detailed thought and customized elements. The slight angle of the counter leads to the upstairs, where the bathroom and bedroom are.
A gorgeous mosaic shower sits under a skylight next to a DIY compost toilet and mini sink. The bedroom has a full bed with plenty of drawers underneath for extra storage space. This rig has a massive roof raise, custom exterior storage, and a hidden garage in the very back!

Wow. You guys beat us to it. We are 54 now. We realized we had the opportunity to make the big change late fall last year, like now or never. Plan is in motion, and down payment for a huge bus parking (17x50 Ft with some retaining walls) constuction has been made, so no turning back now. Sifting through our 💩, and omg !! So much 💩! We need to drop about 80% of our stuff so we can fit into my tiny house, which is not even done, and needs TLC. I can not wait to rip this bandage off & get moving. You tiny bus Home looked amazing ❤ I like choices you guys made. I am looking all ideas for our future bus home. You guys seem great, perhaps we meet one day somewhere in amzing places. I admire all the van lifers and nomads out there Bless you but I know that this life is not for me. I don’t mind traveling but I don’t want to take my entire house with me. This lifestyle looks interesting but I like to be stable. I could probably live in a tiny house in a community as long as its on a foundation and I could have a stand-up loft. I look at the prices for tinies and they cost more than my stick built house. Enjoy your travels and be safe.

Don't feel bad if you ever lose a window. I had an airstream land yacht and hit a massive pothole that could not be avoided in rush hour traffic on the interstate in El Paso. It pierced my oil pan and smashed my double length sofa window right out onto the car next to me. And that was Airstream factory installed!

At the time this was filmed we did not have a TV. Actually we went our first seven months without a TV and kinda liked it like that! But then all the spring rain kept us in more and we finally broke down and got one! 😂 still just using hot spots when we need internet !

My chihuahua 🐾 and I vanlife fulltime but he was taken 4 months ago in Colorado by Centennial animal control. He didn't bite anyone, they were just trying to tow my van, and saw my pal believing he was abandoned. I was at my job Amazon(peak holiday season at the time), and when I got back to my van, he was gone without any notice of WHERE he was. I have been paying thousands of dollars in shelter fees every couple of weeks so he won't be released or euthanized. He needs dental work done so they have charged me with 'failure to provide minimum care.' My next court date is on the 27th of Feb. I've researched for animal attorneys too but most attorneys are for divorce, traffic cases etc. I built my shower, I have a dual burner stove, fridge, piano, guitar, -20 sleeping bag and EVEN my tiny pal does too, his is -10 from Amazon. PLEASE, SOMEBODY HELP BRING HIM BACK TO ME. I am autistic and he is my best friend. :(

I am curious to know the gas mileage this bus gets
It all depends on how fast I drive. In the beginning I drove our bus like a mad man..70-75 at time faster. At that speed was getting about 7 miles per gal. I now drive at a steady 60 miles per hour and get almost 12 miles per gal. Saving money and enjoying the ride!! Good luck
So much for being poor anymore with all these rich folks taking over this lifestyle. 30y ago you could come up and out of poverty. Why rich folks need to take over everything. Can't even live in a treehouse even that becomes a rich folk thing too. Camping now has been jacked up even for primitive if you can find that anymore. Dang.
I don't even have money for driving license and no one to travel in the buss in . You basically need a skills to drive and also basic knowledge of repair the buss because if it breaks in the middle of nowhere with extreme weather you might die .
So you're going to begrudge people who have worked hard most of their lives, including PROTECTING OUR COUNTRY BY BEING IN THE MILITARY, because you think they're rich? DON'T BLAME THE MIDDLE CLASS FOR YOUR WOES.
