I love this knife. The size and deep carry is perfect for around the house or walking the dogs at the park in my shorts. Its like nothing is there. But I agree its a bit too small for my main carry to work or out in public for the day. Id carry the kershaw iridium over the Bel air then

@@zx6guy bro if you like the bugout I bet this thing would feel right at home in your hands. Roughly the same size. I think my sweet spot is that 8.5-9 inch range myself.
@apex_alchemy_knives Speaking of the Bugout, have you gotten a chance to test benchmades 20cv? Maybe I missed it but I’d be curious how that came out. If it was soft (like seemingly everyone else treats it) I’d have to say you might be right. Also, yea I usually prefer something bigger but I when I’m in the office I need something more “civilized” if you follow me…
I like the style and how deep the pocket clip is because I don't like showing that I have a knife. I like my knives on the larger side , the Besteck Swordfish, Spyderco Military because of my tripple x hands . For instance at Home Depot no work gloves can slip onto them.
Nice review..liking your honesty unlike some tubers obviously on a payroll! I disagree with ya on the thumb studs i like a bit of purchase but thats personal pref. Totally agree on the needless jimping at the bottom inner spine...for slim scaled knives I'd really like to see some jimping at the rear on the upper scales as thats where the tips of your fingers rest if putting some pressure into a cut and we grip more with our finger tips. Agree with your thoughts on your preferred blade shape tho..Im mostly carrying a petrified fish trilobite at the moment and the egos and cutting action with a rev tanto are super comfortable (it has nice chunky scales/handle depth). Subscribed 🙂
@@stujm73 thanks for watching , and subscribing. Courtney loves this knife and hope she comes out with her own video on it soon. She doesn't experience any of the issues that I do so I'm sure it's all personal taste. 😎🤘
Thank u for the honest review. I had honestly considered selling my dlt exclusive deka and buying one of these but not any more lol. I hope the holidays went well for u and urs.
@@SteelAddicted the perfect knife for me isn't going to be the perfect knife for most people. If you enjoy the size of the deka, you may want to consider this knife.
The only thing I don’t think I’d care for is the size… I had a Kershaw Covalent which is a crossbar that has seriously sharp/uncomfortable edges on the crossbar that I had to take a ceramic rod to ease the edges. Everyone says they want deep pocket clips and Kershaw gives us deeper pocket clips and you complain?! 😂 I hope you and Courtney had a good Christmas 🎄
I like the looks of the thing but I had a chance to get one in hand and hated the size of it. !00% agree about the cancerous lump sticking off the backend of it ...feels weird in hand when you close it...kinda feels like its teetering back and forth balanced on a pair of ballerina shoes.
It's a great knife, but it is a touch on the small size for sure, even compared to a Bugout/Deka. Nice for around-the-house use, but it is just a bit too small for bigger tasks. That said, I had one, sold it, but now I want that MAGA version lol 😎 let me know if you want to sell 😁 I have the OLBW Launch 16 and boy does it feel good in the hand. It's a beast next to the Bel Air.
Ya i dont like the pocket clip or the scales personally. Rather have a bugout. Detent was that strong either and it had lock stick, I'm retuning it. What's your favorite knife for cutting through DEF jugs? We got a different brand at work and they crazy thick, killing edges like crazy lol
@@juanvaldez6321 fortunately we have blue def at our pumps at our DC...but I'd be curious how rex steels would hold up to those def jugs. Like a nice slicey spyderco pm2 with rex45 or 121...whatever you can get them in. I would imagine bohler k390 would be good with it too. Honestly though...I just don't know and I'd be a liar if I said I did. It'd have to be somethng seriously thin and slicey though...even with milk cartons or oil jugs.
@apex_alchemy_knives i have a rex45 smock and the 76 in pm2 but def is corrosive to non stainless over time. I wipe down my s30vs right after and it hasn't patinad yet but I hit them with dry paper and then alcohol wipes. But s30v edge gets dull after a month or so. I just got a magnacut para 3 lw and I hate the scales so I probably won't use it much until I get some different scales
@juanvaldez6321 yeah s30v is stainless and it ain't gonna be able to handle much abuse. Those high alloy hyper steels are all carbon steels...I've been carrying my rex45 for awhile. A little patina but no rust to speak of. I wouldn't be scared of using them at all.
