How Much Did I Spend In A Semester? (Read Description)

I was curious about my spending habits at college so this last semester, spring 2017, I saved all of my receipts. This is a pretty close estimate, I spent a little more than this. I spent a total of $652.92 excluding the new camera because that is an outlier.
This experiment was inspired by the minimalists. We all spend money on things we don't need or things that we think will give us joy. However, we buy most things on impulse, or because everybody else has it, or because it is on sale without actually thinking about what we are buying. Most of it just sits around our houses only being used a few times. We can save so much money by only buying things we need or things that bring us joy and that is what I tried to do last semester and it was extremely hard.
