  • Finally back on my recumbent trike. It's more fun than every, because now my wife is riding with me. Rode the Spruce Railroad Trail, a newly paved, 10-miles trail along the north shore of Lake Crescent and up into the mountains. Beautiful!

    I like your new trike! My Tricon is awesome, but the EA that Utah Trikes added to yours sure looks completely integrated. Nice ride, and nice to see Mama enjoying herself!

    Just a thought; might Moma's trike have her rear derailleur clutch disengaged? If engaged, it should keep the chain taut, and prevent chain whipping.

    Hello David,
    I'm like you, I have an AZUB Tricon and I would like to motorize it with the Bafang motor
    Where did you find the battery holder and the fixation.
    Sorry for the translation, I'm French and like many French people I'm bad at English.
    Sincerely

    • @daveyJ213
      @daveyJ213  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Jean! I ordered the battery mount from T-Cycle. Here is the link to their web site: t-cycle.com/. I think the part might be sold out right now.
      Also if you planning to use the Bafang motor, make sure you order the torque plate from Utah Trikes: www.utahtrikes.com/PROD-11620817.html. You must use this devise in order to keep the powerful Bafang motor from rotating in the bottom bracket. Good luck and take care.

      Nice! ICE was one of the trikes I considered while shopping. Which one are you getting? The AZUB ride fantastically; solid and reliable. I've had no problems at all with the AZUB. In general just keep things tightened up and you will be fine.

    Absolutely beautiful!
    I've never ridden a recumbent trike - how did you take the plunge on those? Have you been satisfied with the trike setup?

    • @daveyJ213
      @daveyJ213  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Man, I could go on for pages with an answer, but long-story-short: we LOVE the trikes. They are fun to ride and VERY comfortable. Old bones and joints like that. You can't go 100% of the places a mountain bike would go, but for long distance trips and bike/camping they can't be beat.

    Which e-mod did you install on your trike.

    • @daveyJ213
      @daveyJ213  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We have a Bafang on the 20" TRIcon, and the 26" Ti Fly there is the Shimano system: www.shimano-steps.com/e-bikes/europe/en. I installed the Bafang myself, but purchased the Ti Fly with the Shimano.

      @@4162bike www.bafangusadirect.com/ Make sure you go to Utah Trikes and order ($75) their Heavy Duty Torque Plate. Let them know you trike you are installing it on. This part is essential to keep the motor from rotating in the bottom bracket. This video show how it works: th-cam.com/video/KJ3u4a5jrp4/w-d-xo.html.
