2.4l is only in the Vibe… the 2zz has all the business to be in the XRS… it’s only 1.8l pushing pretty good power, with forged internals… it’s the perfect engine for the XRS/GT… it’s only after ‘09 that Pontiac popped the 1.8 out.
I've been considering an 03 Vibe GT. I thought the seating position was pretty high in these cars, but it looked like you could barely see out of it! Or was it just the camera angle? Nice video though!
ya the clutch disc as been change and now I don't know why so it's never completly open...maybe have air in oil line...so at 8200rpm it's hard to change....
This things were like my friends moms, all of them. Cheap, all the options and always had the throttle open waiting to guzzle more gas. If you... know what I mean.
the power delivery is all wrong for a car like that. Not enough torque for the weight. I mean its amusing car, reliable, useful car but the engine seems out of place. There is a Vibe GT in my driveway but we stole its 2ZZ(still pulls hard with ~190,000 miles), put it in an MR2 spyder, now the vibe has a 1zz and a 6 speed and it feels spunkier around town.
They don't weigh that much, 2500lbs. There are much heavier cars with less torque that are just fine and they don't have 6spd manuals. If you do the vvti mod that lowers the engagement to under 6k it transforms the car.

you are right ...it's vibe standard with 2.4 engine 5 speed manual transmission in option (158hp 162tq) less option than Gt so less weight...

What was your 0-60? I can get like a 4-5 sec on my gf but I don't have a turbo or charger

The Vibe you're running against in this video isn't a GT by the way though. From the looks of the side skirt and wheels.. its a base model.

I have only push harder on shifter for enter next speed... harder for transmission on second run.... so go hard or go home...lol
