  • The Reunion Scene of Dil Chahta hai is one of the most iconic scenes in Bollywood, but for you to feel that emotion, there's a lot that has already been fed to you in bits and pieces, and through subtext.
In this video, I break down smaller elements that add to the overall impact the scene has.
If you've noticed such details in other scenes or want me to break down another scene - iconic, good or cringe - then do drop a comment and let me know!

The character of Sameer (Saif Ali Khan) is blending in the frame as well and still manages to attract attention. It was a great break down. Please try the last court scene from the movie Shaurya.
Hope you build a community here.

Yes, I noticed. Not sure what if the grey and orange T-shirt was on purpose or not. But I didn’t think too much into it.
      Thanks so much!!
I’ll definitely give the shaurya scene a shot but that whole movie and especially that scene is a copy of ‘A few good men’ - great movie starring Tom cruise, jack Nicholson and demi Moore.
I’ll review the scene and compare it to few good men and if I feel they’ve done a fresh take on it, I’ll definitely try and find some insights on it and do a video!
I feel you might like my dark knight breakdown as well. Please do give it a watch and let me know your thoughts!
Thanks so much for the support!

@@BantermanBhatt Yeah the movie is a copy, but the scene and the entire movie was adapted well in Indian set up, which a lot of remakes/ copies have failed to achieve.
Dark Knight breakdown is always a treat. May be try breaking down some other Indian directions as well - 'Udham Singh', 'Joji', Bhramayugam'.
I think Randeep Hooda did a phenomenal job behind the camera in 'Swatantra Veer Savarkar'.
      Totally your call

Those are some very good mentions actually. I’d have to wait for bhramayugam to come out on ott. But definitely feel udham Singh and joji might have something. Super deluxe has been on my list as well.

Are you an author or cinematographer something, like these were very meticulous details. It will help me to write a book with much more depth!

So I’m neither. But to give you a bit of a background about myself - I’ve worked as an assistant director on a number of projects, and more recently have started directing as well.
Prior to getting into this industry, I used to work in the investment management space in New York City. Did that for 6 years and eventually quit that to pursue filmmaking.
But I’ve always had a huge passion for cinema and even before getting into the industry consumed a lot of content/information and taught myself a lot of things.
If you want to reach out regarding your book feel free to email me at bantermanbhatt@gmail.com and we can take it from there.
