That was wonderful! I was spending a lot of time updating the table of contents because I'm using GeneratePress and no other plugin seems to work! Thank you, team! 👏👏👏
There's one suggestion: Enable one option in the Global setting to auto-insert the Table of content blocks on every article automatically. (as other table of content plugins do)
Hello, thank you for your comment, Currently, it is not possible to automate the insertion of the TOC block. However, we already have some feature requests and I have added your vote to our internal list of suggestions. You can keep an eye on our changelog to get notified of the latest features and updates: rankmath.com/changelog/ Don’t hesitate to get in touch in case you need our assistance with anything else. Thanks.
Great! An option to collapse the table of contents in to a hamburger menu would also be a good addition to the settings. Is that something you may add in the future?
Hello, Thank you for your comment. We have taken note of your feature suggestion. Thank you so much for the feedback and your valuable suggestions. We really appreciate them.

Thanks dear Jack (and team), but i have one more feature missing. Maybe i haven’t found it yet. Until now i used a plug in to at table of content in my blog posts. In this plug in was a feature in the settings so that i can easily ad “on every blogpost” (or different options: recipe post, how to post, and so on) a table of content after “the first paragraph” (or different options: the first picture, on the top of my post, bevor…, and so on). Is the possible with rank math table of content too? Thanks in advance, Orkide
Hello, thank you for your comment, Unfortunately, there is no way to automatically add the Table of contents to preexisting posts at the moment. You will need to add the TOC individually to each post. Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

Hello, thank you for your comment. We have received several feature requests to implement a shortcode for the TOC feature of Rank Math, and our developers are already aware of it. We have some feature improvements in the pipeline, and the option of creating a shortcode for it is one of them, but it’s not available at this moment. Hope that helps, and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
Is it possible to have one table of contents for mobile and another for desktop? ie the depth of headings shown to save space on the phones smaller screen?
Hello, thank you for your comment. No, it is not currently possible to have separate table of contents for mobile and desktop using Rank Math's Table of Contents block. The block does not have an option to customize the depth of headings shown based on the device. You can refer to this link to customize the Table of Contents block:rankmath.com/kb/table-of-contents-block/#customizing-toc-block If you have further questions, you can always reach out to Rank Math's dedicated support team here rankmath.com/support/.
Thank you, this is a great addition to the already awesome capabilities of Rank Math. How can you add the table of contents (TOC) when you use a page builder like WP Bakery? Can you add the TOC with a shortcode to your page? If this is possible, can the TOC be elegantly changed as shown in your video? Thank you in advance for your help.
Hello, thank you for your comment, Currently, there isn’t any shortcode available to add TOC block automatically. We value your feedback and will pass it along to our development team for consideration. For your other concern, Can you submit a support ticket here: rankmath.com/support/ so that our team can look into this closely? Looking forward to helping you

Hope that helps, and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else. Feel free to submit a support ticket here: rankmath.com/support/ Thank you.
Hello and thank you for your comment. Sorry to disappoint you that there is no option currently available to collapse the table of contents. If you are facing any other issues, please feel free to open a support ticket here rankmath.com/support/ and our support team will be more than happy to get back to you.

Hello, thank you for your comment, The TOC Block by Rank Math does not support toggles as of now. For TOC Toggles, you can try to Ultimate Blocks plugin. It's also fully compatible with Rank Math. Here's the link: rankmath.com/compatibility/ultimate-blocks/ Hope that helps. Let us know if you need any other assistance.
Hello, Thank you for your comment. Unfortunately, the Table of Contents Block from our plugin is not currently supported for widgets. The ToC blocks will only work on post or page content when using the Block editor. If you are having issues, you can always raise your question here rankmath.com/support/ and our support team would be happy to assist you.
Hello Rankmath team. I have a question for you. When we click on an item from the table of content, a # is created in the URL. How to remove it. Like your own site.
Hello, thank you for your comment. Rank Math's Table of Content automatically creates links for easier navigation. We add table of contents manually on our own website. If you encounter any issues with Rank Math, you can always raise your question here rankmath.com/support/ and our support team would be happy to assist you.
Thank you very much for your great tool and your very helpful guidance in your videos and articles! This is really, really great! I have one question, though: I can't find the block in Elementor (free)... is it not compatible? Have a great day! :)
Hello, thank you for your comment, The TOC block will only work on the Gutenberg block editor and at the moment, you can't apply it in classic editors or any page builders other than Gutenberg. Hope this clarifies. Thank you
Hi, i have an issue here as I do not see the table in the wordpress editor. This is mentioned " Table of Contents Add Heading blocks to this page to generate the Table of Contents".In my post all headings are H1,H2 etc etc but apparently not recognized?
Hello, and thanks for your comment. Are you adding default Gutenberg heading blocks to the page? Our plugin can only detect the default heading blocks and not ones from custom plugins or themes. If you encounter any issues with Rank Math, you can always raise your question here rankmath.com/support/ and our support team would be happy to assist you.
Thank you so much. Is there a option whereby you can apply the ToC to your posts at once? I have numerous articles which I want to add the ToC once without having to do it one after the other.

Can I use rank maths table of content while using elementor free plugin? Aparently I need to switch back to the Gutemberg editor to be able to do so. But switching back to Gutenberg editor may cause issues with my page design. Is there a way to make it work while editing with elementor free plugin? Thanks
Hello, Thank you for your comment. Unfortunately, the Table of Contents Block from our plugin is not currently supported for Elementor. The TOC blocks will only work on post or page content when using the Block editor. If you are having issues, you can always raise your question here rankmath.com/support/ and our support team would be happy to assist you.
Hello, thank you for your comment. Rank Math does not provide an option to display the Table of Contents on the right sidebar. The Table of Contents block created by Rank Math is typically inserted within the content of your post or page. If you are looking to customize the appearance or placement of the Table of Contents, you may need to consider using custom CSS or other plugins that offer such features. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask! If you encounter any issues with Rank Math, you can always raise your question here rankmath.com/support/ and our support team would be happy to assist you.
Great video and very helpful ! Can we center align the words "Table of Content" ? Also can we add a drop down button, so that only "Table of Content" words stay visible, and reader can click on the dropdown button if they really want to go through the TOC ?

30 seconds into the video one sees numbered TOC and the headings also have numbers. Is there a way to automatie the headers to get the same numbers (not made manually by entering the text in the header itselves that seems to create double numbers in TOC)?
Hello, thank you for your comment, Unfortunately, there is no way to automate adding numbers to headings using Rank Math as of now. We’ll pass on this request to our development team, and if this is something that gets implemented, we’ll communicate the same, so do keep an eye out on our changelog. Hope that helps, and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
Hello, thank you for your comment. Please note that Rank Math’s TOC Block is only available using the default block editor (Gutenberg). Hello, thank you for your comment. We have forwarded this to the relevant team and we'll ensure these details will be clearly mentioned in the video going further. Hi. Do we have auto inserted facility for Table of contents? If so, can we do it for all posts instead of doing manually by visiting each and every post.
Hello, Thank you for your comment. The option to automatically add TOC on all current and upcoming posts is not available in our TOC block at the moment. Having said that, there is a list of improvements we have in our repository, and we’ll add your suggestion to that list. If the developers decide to implement that, you’ll see it in the changelog when it’s released: rankmath.com/changelog Hope that helps, and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need my assistance with anything else.
Hello, thank you for your comment, If you are using DIVI, you can add the TOC Block using the block editor. Hope that helps. Let us know if you need any other assistance.
Very sophisticated! However, can I add the table of contents to my pages globally by selecting the number of titles when the table of contents should be used? I currently use a very nice table of contents plugin and set it to display the table of contents if there are three or more titles on the page. I have several hundred pages and do not want to have to add /table to each page.
Hello, thank you for your comment, Currently, there isn’t any shortcode / other methods available to add TOC block automatically. Hello there and thank you for this great video. I'm a rankmath pro user but I don't have the option to edit link color. I only have text and background option. Is this normal ? I don't have the option for editing lineheight as well
Hello, thank you for your comment, Can you submit a support ticket here: rankmath.com/support/ so that our team can look into this closely? Looking forward to helping you.
Hello, thank you for your comment. Unfortunately, there is no feature available to display the Table of Contents using a shortcode. With that said, this is a new feature and we tend to further improve it in the future. If having a ToC via shortcode is something we can include, we will be sure to let you know. For now, we currently don’t have any plans to add it. You can check our KB about the same: rankmath.com/kb/table-of-contents-block/ If you encounter any issues with Rank Math, you can always raise your question here rankmath.com/support/ and our support team would be happy to assist you.
Hello, I have the paid version of RankMath and it's great. But for the ToC I don't have access to the advanced settings. Just the text and background colors, not the links No section under Typography. Just advanced with anchors. But not the dimension....
Hello, thank you for your comment, The link color option depends on whether your theme supports it. You might need to reach out to your theme developer to add support. More details here: developer.wordpress.org/block-editor/how-to-guides/themes/theme-support/#link-color-control For the other options can you submit a support ticket here: rankmath.com/support/ so that our team can look into this closely? Hello, thank you for your comment, Unfortunately, there isn’t any way to automatically import TOC to Rank Math or auto-insert Rank Math TOC to all posts as of now. We appreciate your feedback and passing this on to our developers. Hope that helps. Thank you.
New customer here - thanks!! I'll echo something Di Chen requested ... would be great to see a sticky TOC for those 3k to 5k-word posts in a future enhancement.
Hello, Thank you for your comment. Thank you so much for your feature suggestion. We'll pass this on to our development and see what can be done. We really appreciate them.
i read the previous comments just now. so, no such thing as collapsing as i understand. in this case don`t you think using gutenberg`s table of content is better instead?
Hello, thank you for your comment. We haven't explored Gutenberg plugin's Table of Content feature yet. The Table of Contents by Rank Math block does not collapse by default. You can make it collapsible by adding the below filter to your functions.php file. You can refer to this guide on adding filters to your site: rankmath.com/kb/table-of-contents-block/#make-the-table-of-contents-collapsible Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
The part considering the color of the text, the background are not up to date. It now says that those option are available in "style option" but I really can't find the style option. Really can't figure it out...🤯
Hello, thank you for your comment. With the recent update to Block Editor’s UI, the block options are slightly changed. Here is how you can change the Background color of the Table of Contents block - i.rankmath.com/i/5OdPDd If this option is unavailable for you, then its probably due to the theme not supporting the feature. You can try using the default themes or contact the theme developer to further add the feature. Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need my assistance with anything else.
Hello, thank you for your comment. Rank Math’s Table of Contents Block is available only on Gutenberg. hey rank math, can I use rank math via short code because i write most of my article in classic editor, if via short code is possible please give me detail instructions.
Hello, thank you for your comment. The option to add TOC block via shortcode is not available at the moment. But we have some suggestions added to our repository to improve the TOC block that was shared by our users, and those include the support for other page builders and the implementation of a shortcode to add the block anywhere on the page. You can use the Table of Contents Plus plugin, and it is compatible with Rank Math: rankmath.com/kb/table-of-contents-not-detected/#toc-plugins If you are having issues, you can always raise your question here, and our support team would be happy to assist you.
Hello, thank you for your comment, The TOC block by Rank Math is designed to be added within the content area of your posts and pages. It may not be compatible with adding it directly to the sidebar using the default WordPress widgets. Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
Better can be set to floating and folding or unfolding, so we don't need to scroll down and up to find the content title we want, like the TOC of essential addons plugins

What about if I have been using an automated plugin for over 350 articles. If I want to use the WordPress block from now on, I will have to deactivate the plugin and all my previous articles will lose their T.O.C. Any suggestions?
Hello, thank you for your comment, Unfortunately, there is no way to add the Table of contents Block to preexisting posts automatically. You will need to add the TOC individually to each post. Hello, and thanks for your comment. Glad you liked it. Feel free to get in touch if you have questions.

If the Link color option is not available, then it's probably due to the theme not supporting the feature. You can try using the default themes or contact the theme developer to further add the feature.
Hope that helps, and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need my assistance with anything else.

Is there a way to use the Table of Content as a shortcode?
Hello, thank you for your comment.
The option to add TOC block via shortcode is not available at the moment.
But we have some suggestions added to our repository to improve the TOC block that was shared by our users, and those include the support for other page builders and the implementation of a shortcode to add the block anywhere on the page.
You can use the Table of Contents Plus plugin, and it is compatible with Rank Math:

If you are having issues, you can always raise your question here, and our support team would be happy to assist you.
