Mike, I’m sure you won’t read this, but my advice (which is worth as much as you’re paying for it) compare this lesson to the other lessons that you’ve taught throughout the years. You had to witness some rough situations and acknowledge them to be capable of teaching the way that you do, this is no different, you have learned from it, pass on those lessons when you have taken them in. The fact that you are even getting out and showing how vulnerable you are in this moment of your life has made me respect you even more than before. I’m sure you’re fighting hidden battles, but this is true bravery in my view. When the tunnel looks dark, keep walking until you see light.

I was on board with the first 75% of your post until you think he has made himself more vulnerable now? Interesting, what makes you think that? I liked Mike so much more before the allegations, and my loss of respect for him is 100% based on the way he has handled the response. Literally pointing fingers every direction but himself. Absolutely desecrating the Utah police department. He's not taken any personal responsibility or ownership here that. i've seen. Have you?

In my youth, I went through the system for some stuff I totally deserved to get prosecuted for, and I still saw all sorts of terrible behavior on the part of the people in charge. Authority and an idea that you're morally superior has a way of making a normal person into a monster. I've seen it so many times. It seems like it's just part of the human condition.

Because they're "jealous" of his success like Mike has eluded too. Geez man, c'mon. Or...maybe...just maybe Mike f'ed up and isnt' owning it.

As a woman, I am grateful for a man who stands up with valor and integrity no matter how much mud is thrown at them. There will always be ignorant haters. They lose their power when you don't cower. Stand up to the bullies by keeping the business going. Funny thing about the internet is you feel like you know someone but when something happens, we watch to see if they are who they portrayed when tough times come. Continue and show you are who they thought and people will come back.

I appreciate what Mike has done and continues to do with Fieldcraft. Teaching people how to prepare for adversity is worthwhile. Get yourself in a good place so that you can take care of your family as they will be your legacy when everything else goes away.

Mike, I’m not sure you will see this. Regardless, of what anyone else may say, I really believe you’re a good man. I’m retired mil and I can closely relate to you, your company, your circle of friends, and your collective experiences. I recognize how difficult the recent events have been for you. First off, when it comes to people recognizing you and offering encouragement, don’t over think it. Sometimes people just don’t know what or how to interact with someone who has suffered trauma. Of course there is now way I can know this for sure but, I have a strong suspicion this experience will ultimately turn out to be a very valuable thing for you. I know it’s hard for you to imagine this but, I honestly think it will provide you with valuable insight, clarity, and understanding how emotional trauma ultimately affects people. Once the hurt and self deprecation starts to recede, you will begin to see how this life experience has provided you with a profound level of wisdom. There will be scar’s for sure but, you will be stronger, smarter and better able to help others as they navigate life’s many challenges. You’re good to go, partner. Let the healing begin!

I wasn’t looking for this podcast, but it found me. Thankful to have found it and will save it to review multiple times. I’ve followed Mike since he first hit TH-cam, some of the best advice, tech, and training vids out there. Not being military myself or in a situation to travel and drop coin doing so, his offerings were vital in helping me to get to a place to secure my own situation and be confident doing so. When his present situation went down, I reserved judgement and just prayed for the man whatever the outcome might have been. I will continue to do so.
This particular topic hits home, because I’m currently struggling with the same disconnection and working through a reincarnation in my own life. I’ve been driven by adversity for so long, I don’t know how to function without it. I’m having difficulty imagining myself not having to confront the issues that defined my actions. I am thankful those pressures kept me from allowing bad habits to overtake me. I succeeded in my own little ecosphere, but what now?
I never imagined punching through would leave me circling as I am.
Watching you guys discuss the process and pitfalls of reinvention is a help. Different worlds, same processes.
Thank you - keep hammering on.

On August 29th 2009, I fought the biggest fire in Los Angeles County history. I ended up trapped and alone, and for 30 minutes I visualized all the different ways I could burn to death. My truck was burned, but I escaped unharmed and the next day I was put into an administrative role while the fire raged on. I was delivering widgets to firefighters just below the towering column when I found out that Ted Hall and one other had just been killed. Ted was a firefighter I had spoken to minutes before I was entrapped. At this point in my career I taught tactics, fire behavior and survival to other firefighters. The day before on August 29th, I knew exactly what I was getting into, and I brought my best - but the fire won. It took me years to recover and figure out why this fire messed me up so badly.
I felt like I failed and I let everyone down. This fire destroyed my confidence in myself and in my abilities. I spoke with six different mental health professionals who made things worse. It took me a few years before I finally found a specialist that knew what I had experienced. Leading up to August 29th I had spent years studying entrapment situations from every angle. I understood what mistakes firefighters had made, why they had made them, and I took this deathly seriously. We could not make those same mistakes if we wanted to survive. But I screwed up and I did make mistakes, and the next day I was out of the fight when two of us died. Using EMDR and other therapy the specialist helped me to see that all the decisions I made were reasonable, and if anyone thought I made a mistake, or if I thought I made a mistake, it doesn't matter because in life everyone makes mistakes. But I didn't do anything wrong! And that made it harder for me to understand and process what had happened. And in real life mistakes do matter, because people died. That is also why it was so hard for me to accept this lesson. This incident broke me because it forced me to admit that I wasn't perfect and even when you do all of your due diligence sometimes you're blindsided, caught off guard, and bad things happen.
I'd experienced bad things before, but not in this way. It reminds me of when Domata Peku steamrolled Troy Polamalu, and Polamalu got up looking like a little bitch, when three seconds before he was the baddest dude in the NFL. The outcome of that matchup was inevitable. Peku was a lineman, and Polamalu was a safety. Hard work, preparation, and willpower are great things, but there are just some juggernauts they can't contend with. The more prepared we are, the more damaging the experience of getting steamrolled.
I wished I would have stayed in therapy. It did do me a lot of good, but I cut it short because I was too weak to keep addressing these things in therapy. I mostly recovered, but it continued to have a negative impact on the rest of my career. I had a hard time following orders after this. Occasionally I'd freak out like Maverick in Top Gun and disengage, but usually I'd take too much risk, fighting with rage trying to beat what had beat me. I see similarities in Mike's story and experience. It's like when Austin Powers lost his mojo, he couldn't pinpoint what the problem was but he knew something was wrong. You'll get your mojo back Mike! I hope to see you next month in San Bernardino.

15:32 This. There’s so much we can’t possibly prepare for emotionally and spiritually or familial. Where most prep courses teach pragmatism, we can only cross some adversity bridges when we get there carrying the baggage we showed up with. How we deal with family separation, grief or loss …. It’s very individualistic and there’s no threshold or limit where someone else can step in and say this is where it ends. It’s a lesson that you learn as you go that never stops teaching. Lifetime event changes. Appreciate you guys talking about this. It’s really where we meet ourselves and decide on how/why/where to proceed. Only one thing I learned is that the path reveals itself as we move forward. No right answers, just choices.

From what I’ve listened to from Mike Glover over the last few years, a trustworthy community is part of preparedness. Not that my opinion as a stranger would be significant , but it seems to me that the tight knit group of trusted friends that are men of strength and integrity whom you can turn to in moments of weakness or when you don’t have what it takes is Vital to being prepared. There is no one who is talented at everything, and therefore entirely independent, so wisdom is seeking good counsel like what is in this video. A great conversation, thank you for sharing it.

Your expertise in your field, your career and your ability to communicate those pieces for educational purposes necessary. If you think about it, we need you more than you need us. Anyone who utilized their authority to play you down, police, jail personnel or Child Protective Services, the only content they serve is to play dictatorial games with good peoples' lives. I only have great respect and admiration for what you have been through, and what you are going through right now Mike. You might feel as if you were not prepared for this, but there is no way that we can prepare for every situation we will face in life. What matters the most is how you get through this, and who you become in the future. All of the experiences from your past has moulded you into who you are today, and that was your preparation to get you through what is happening right now. You might not agree, but simply watching how you deal with this right now, gives me faith in you as a person. Thank you for your service, to everyone around the world. Your dedication to preparedness throughout years of your life has landed you in a position where you can now take the offensive posture against this ambush of corruption. Living by what you preach has given you preparedness in finances to pay for all of the assets. Preparedness in banding together with family, friends, and colleagues provided you with a QRF to administer first aid of the situation. Preparedness in mindset has provided you with critical, innovative thinking for the higher level of care in this situation in addition to contingency planning and a strategic long term approach of battling this enemy. You may feel as though you let people down or you were unprepared for all of this, but I can attest that you did not let me down. I see how years of sharpening your mindset has landed you in one of the most optimal positions you can be in after being targeted to this severity. As men, we often deflect admiration, but I ask that you consider my words as truth, and that they may contribute to your faith in winning this fight.

I have felt this way since I was betrayed by 2 POS Staff Sergeants back in early 1993 at Ft. Benning. I was 19 and wanted to be an Army RANGER more than anything in my life! I am now 51 and it still haunts my dreams and ruined the person who I was supposed to be! All I can do is keep getting back up and praying to God to put the right people in my paths to help give me some fookin clarity! It is not easy and it sucks to show an employer my DD214 that I received a General Discharge after a year of Inactive Reserves and almost 5 months of OSUT! Mike, keep your friends close, very fooking close and to hell with the rest! Reach out to Jack Osbourne, do some more on the street shtuff or get political. Maybe help Jack out with his shows? Remember this saying brother. I would rather have four quarters than 100 pennies! Love ya brother and you have been in my prayers since this incident. Always in the fight!!!

Thought I was ready for anything. put a lot of drug dealers and thieves away. Then my fiancé past away in the next. room. Took along time to get swallow my pride. Thought I was ready for anything. You get back in the groove. A lot of people look up to you.
I always knew there was way more to the real story of what you went through. I know I’ve kinda been there. People love to jump to conclusions and beat somebody down who has done good. Keep in the game Mike.

Suss means suspicious for today’s young people. Great conversation. Andy: sorry that your friend died but also remember not everyone will listen to sage advice. Just because we do while you are there doesn’t mean we will when your back is turned. Mike: 26 major eye surgeries and not one has prepared me for the next one. The surgery is easy, it is dealing with the aftermath . It is one’s ability to adapt that can get us through. We always have to learn in order to grow. You both have great content! Thanks for sharing.

Thankful for everyone's service and sacrifice to this country i love. Can not mention all involved but thank you Greg, Andy, Rob for standong up backing Mike through transition i what he decides for himself and his family Trust in the Lord with all of your heart do not lean in your own understanding and He (the LORD) will make straight your path and in all your ways acknowledge HIM. “What do you do next, when you don’t know know what next is?” that’s a very good question and one that I’ve been living with for the past few years. My husband died suddenly and unexpectedly. It felt like I was walking into a dark room, with no light, with no plans and no direction. All of our dreams and plans were shattered and never gonna happen. I still don’t have it all figured out, but I’ve learned this: you have to take care of yourself, move slow and be patient

Fellas, I love the subject on this video. I too am going through a shit storm. My company of 33 years is in bankruptcy and will not make it out. My wife of 25 years has left me. I’ve been to the ER 4 times since May for stress. But I’m blessed to have the friends I have. They are Godly men. The best advice they have given me, is to do the next right thing. And if I do t know what it is, ask for help finding out what that is. I’m far from being through this but at least I think I’m going to live through it now.

14:00 Man, Mike's question and Andy's response are SPOT ON! You can never prepare for EVERYTHING, one of the hardest things in life is learning how to choose WHAT to prepare for and WHAT IS WORTH the effort it will take. Choose wisely, give yourself room to fail, and adjust fire. It'll be painful in the short term but when you look back after a couple years you'll be glad.

Keep going. Keep talking about preparedness, find proof that those negative thoughts are wrong, Mike! That’s how my husband and I got through our similar situation. You have to look at all the darkness and still love you, and show up for you. #endure
I don’t know a single person who has come through life unscathed. From my observations I see preparedness as a mindset and it’s natural for that mindset to get shaken when a situation slips through the cracks. Faithfully walk your path until the feeling returns. Time to abandon what we thought life was supposed to be like and accept things as they are while carving that path to where it still can be. Good luck to everyone going through it.

You can’t be “prepared” for this stuff, brother. I feel for you, Mike. I went through something similar 10yrs ago. Absolutely f’d situation from a jealous ex that I did nothing to her. Topped off with her brother being a cop and my ex being a very good storyteller, and I went through 2yrs of shit just to get everything dismissed and expunged. My ex felt regretful for her actions and went to great lengths to help my cause, but she put me there by making up stories. Scariest shit in life, bro. I was paranoid for a long time, but believe when I tell you, time heals wounds. Just stay positive and control controllables. It gets better.
