This is an unreal video. One of the best I have seen. The problem with the face is something that I just can't get my head around how little justice the gopro is doing in showing the true steepness and pitch of the terrain. Watching that segment I just can't figure out why it looks so much flatter than it obviously is considering how much of a challenge the face was to a pro skier of the caliber of Tanner Hall.
Yeah Gopro's don't show the real steepness of things or even the real intensity of crazy lines like that but Gopro's are still my favorite camera of all time
+Jason Fournier I know right. I film footage of a double black anti looks like a blue. I think the only way to tell in this videos is by looking at the tree's angle on the slope.
Video of the Day! Tanner Hall reflects on the turbulent journey of his 2013-2014 winter through the hallowed backcountry of British Columbia, an adventure made even more impressive by the fact that every run was earned by foot power.
This video is amazing, just shows us enthusiasts that pros are just like us when it comes to stomping big lines. Nice to see that even someone like Tanner Hall has to try a few times to get thing right. Gives me hope that i can be as good one day!
Good for You Tanner.. Showing that its NOT always pretty and so controlled with a sick music score playing in the background... Sometimes you do get yourself into some pretty gnarly situations and have to take a few minutes use your head and figure out the best way down.. You have absolutely nothing to prove to nobody with the skills you posses.. God Bless My Brotha
HOLY CRAP! Boarder here and I have to say, man that is some awesome stuff. Riding that wall that looked like near death and you turned that into art. That cliff drop that took 3 attempts! WHAAAAAT? You dude are the man. Loved this on so many levels. Inspirational. People don't get how much this sport is no matter what you ride. Much respect.
This is one of the best backcountry ski videos I have ever seen. Went straight to my heart! Thanks for posting. There is nothing better then being out there facing your fears and the steep lines :) Yeah!
This really humanizes an incredibly superhuman set of efforts. Very, very impressive! Anyone who has experienced THE FEAR of standing on top of a run that can literally kill you will appreciate the feelings that must have been overcome. Go Tanner! Deep, deep respect.
About 5:25 gives you an idea of how steep the slope that he is falling down... For me Tanner is the best and most passionate skier in the world, truly inspiring stuff!
I haven't watched a Tanner Hall video since he broke both legs at Chad's Gap. It takes a different level of mental fortitude to be the best. This video is cool for 2 reasons. It doesn't just show the highlight runs, it shows the process of failing and it shows the mental thought process to accomplish these epic runs.
This shit was so honest, much respect to Tanner. Getting that "oh shit, i am going to die" feeling, and then pushing through it and dropping your line, that is impressive. I can not really tell from the gopro footage, but I bet these lines were insanely steep.
You are such an inspiration to me, i wish i could be more like you , i am so scared to leave my comfort zone and face my fears. "Stuff goes wrong but when it goes right its a beautiful feeling" 👍. Thank you xx
At that first part, I was like, "Yeah, I might be able to ski this, if I could pick a different way down and have my time." Then with the pillow line, I was just like uh-uh. Not gonna happen. And then it just keep getting worse! This guy made it look so easy though, what a Pro! Major props to you, man!
Wow! Tanner this is so raw and honest. We need more athletes putting out content like this showing the world that it's ok to be scared sometimes! Thank You!
Awesome, love seeing the human side of the pro's, they appear fearless in the movies so it great to see they have the same doubts and emotions as us mortals, just on a much more intense level. Id love to see more like this, especially from Tanner, his passion for skiing is amazing and gets me pumped to go do something stupid like this
Where can I find the animation of this movie, which at first is at 1:30 and 3:45 ----------- Где можно найти анимацию из этого ролика, которая вначале идет, на 1:30 и на 3:45
This is amazing, it gave me chills watching him say he thought he was going to die. What a hero, this guy has some huge balls.
Hell me too
I was scared for the dude
KB Musick That moment of pure fear that overwhelms you. I've been there and I have so much respect for this.
I was in a situation like that scared shitless but made it out.
I think that's the dopest feeling ever. I think it's a crazy person thing because I have no limits
Still one of the best pre season vids to watch to get stoked!
go pros do no justice to the steepness of any runs
You can tell he is almost sitting down
@Hyper Nomicals 4:06 only shot where you really can see how steep it is but you're right lol

+Jason Fournier if I have my info right it is because the fish-eye "ruins" it.
For real you know when a guy like tanner hall thinks he's gonna die it's insane and those trees HE WAS ABOVE THEM THATS A CRAZY DROP LIKE WTF.
+Jason Fournier I know right. I film footage of a double black anti looks like a blue. I think the only way to tell in this videos is by looking at the tree's angle on the slope.
The guy has accomplished more at the X-games than anyone. What are you on about?!
These are unbelievably strong skis, if they are capable to handle the weight of your steel balls.
man the go pro makes all these runs look like blue squares
yeah but you can tell how steep it really is by the way the powder reacts to him turning.
Video of the Day!

+Wooby Doobs????... What was rude of me???
The best GoPro video I have ever seen. So much heart.

It's like u can almost feel the adrenalin just by watching the video it is so freaking epic.
Absolutely Speechless.
This Is Skiing.
go pro, for the hero 5, please try to find out a way to show how steep terrain is
on god lmao
Incredible. No more words needed
reminds me the first time i entered a black piste by mistake
What is that?
This comment is too good lol
Entered a black diamond/black piste by mistake
3 of my Friends couldn't ski but were on a black piste by mistake and they decided to just slide down the piste without their skates :D
long story short... there was only one way out hold tight and stop at the bottom
This is one of the best backcountry ski videos I have ever seen. Went straight to my heart! Thanks for posting. There is nothing better then being out there facing your fears and the steep lines :) Yeah!
it looks so much less step than it actually is
dahl thats gopro
exactly
I know, I keep thinking. Damn I could do that, but then I realize this guy is a well known pro, it’s definitely harder than it looks

“Stuff can go wrong, but when they don”t go wrong, it’s a beautiful feeling” Brave words for a very brave man
YEEAAAAAAAAHHHHH !!!!!
I thought he was saying yam
I miss winter so much now
Yeah i fell you. :(
The season in French alps just ended, now i'm so f*cking impatient for next season aahah
if you've never thought you're gonna die in the next moment, u didn't go crazy enough while skiing...
Nepomuk Roth lmao no
I died a thousand times watching this.
These are the kind of GoPro videos i want to watch!
"Yeeeeeaaaaaaa!!!!!!" *avalanche occurs*
hands down one of the best gopro vids ive ever seen!
There're only two possibilities: he's crazy or he's crazy but his craziness is pure happiness.

If you watch the whole thing this is just mind blowing. Great job!
holy shit that is insane! it's a shame its hard to see the sheer steepness of the terrain through the GoPro
dude cant even ski straight without stopping
that came out wrong.
Amen to that
secretcctvcamera did it work?
Same 😮
This guy probably cant ski
Had to watch it twice. I can tell this guy has a major love for the sport
Still coming back every year for this one! ❤
This video never gets old! Tanner is a maniac.
Make more vids like this! They're just amazing. Really love them.
Terrific video and narration. What an amazing, frightening line down that face. Great job, Tanner.
Surely my favourite edit. I already have seen it about 3 times and i can still watch it totaly amaze *.*
This video perfectly describes my dream :
Spoderman does not dream
Carphi2000
T_T
Then go for that dream, what's stopping you?
Weedzor
the country where I live, school, money, and so on :
I'm also in school, but going for a trip in December to Aosta Valley in Italy to go skiing!
YYYEEEEEEE!!!!!!! YYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!
Antoshka Kartoshka It's YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE BOI
Damn, these lines are incredible
i got goosebumps while he was screaming in the end- his will for experiencing life!
Skiing is so amazing 💚💚💚💚💚🎿🎿💙💜
Im so inspired now. I get scared once in a while on the slopes too but then when you realize you can do it, its the best feeling ever
So awesome to see somebody so multitalented. X Games gold and an amazing big mountain skier.
This shit was so honest, much respect to Tanner. Getting that "oh shit, i am going to die" feeling, and then pushing through it and dropping your line, that is impressive. I can not really tell from the gopro footage, but I bet these lines were insanely steep.
Tellement bien, ça nous rappelle que skier comporte des risques ! Magique cette vidéo
totalement d'accord ^^
Tanner, I love you man! Beautiful frightening lines!!
please make more of these series !! they're so good
Wow, that was epic!
Skolbor auch hier :3!
Jo klaar! :D
This man has earned all of my respect.
I love to he's so stoked after every run! I hope when I establish a career for myself, I'll enjoy it as much as Tanner!
His screams are full of satisfaction and pride that's beautifull
that last quote is so true. it does fell great.
You are such an inspiration to me, i wish i could be more like you , i am so scared to leave my comfort zone and face my fears. "Stuff goes wrong but when it goes right its a beautiful feeling" 👍. Thank you xx
It looks so mellow. The only time you can at all see the steepness is when Tanner leans into the snow on the highside.
At that first part, I was like, "Yeah, I might be able to ski this, if I could pick a different way down and have my time." Then with the pillow line, I was just like uh-uh. Not gonna happen. And then it just keep getting worse! This guy made it look so easy though, what a Pro! Major props to you, man!
this video amazes me each time i watch it, and makes me want to push the limits
it looks so easy how he can handle his ski in this deep snow!
he must be a really good skier to drive like this.... respect!
Wow! Tanner this is so raw and honest. We need more athletes putting out content like this showing the world that it's ok to be scared sometimes! Thank You!
You are a badass. I wish I could go skiing, you are amazing.
You are an inspiration.
U are my inspiration im going skiing in two weeks to America and I'm crapping myself I'm so screwed but you made me feel so much better xxx
Finally a very awesome skiing video, that not stop just after 20/30 sec. More video like this please (I know i dream)
One of the best freeski vids
Awesome, love seeing the human side of the pro's, they appear fearless in the movies so it great to see they have the same doubts and emotions as us mortals, just on a much more intense level.
Id love to see more like this, especially from Tanner, his passion for skiing is amazing and gets me pumped to go do something stupid like this
Very nice video!
I have watched this so many times
The word epic just is not enough to describe this video!
Amazing video. Just watching is breathtaking. I wish sometimes I will able to have a such experience.
Woooow! You be crazy man! That was awesome!!!!
Just Epic,
So incredible you hardly notice how steep it really is!
3rd attempt to this day is still one of the most iconic moments in backcountry skiing
Music made it feel like a much better vid!! This is my 2nd dream in ski
Look guys! A good gopro video without any broken glass!
One of the best videos. Awesomes lines.
At the first look, it looks like a tiny cliff in the video, but after I made up my mind... It's HUGE!
Tanner, totally BA edit! Congrats on moving Armada SKI Co. to Park City. Great Move!
I was suprised the skis stayed on when you tumbled! Amazing
A man who seeks to find his limits will one day exceed them. However it will be a hell of a ride.
I just got a gopro hero3 for the holidays and I hope to ski stuff like this!
Inspiring to say the least....
Thanks for the epic video.
Wow. Just incredible!
This video is so EPIC !!
This is so awesome😩😭👌🏻
Wow he's nuts, and amazing!!! That looked like somewhere I wouldn't want to be.
YES! REVY!!! I skied at revelstoke before, great mountain!
Where can I find the animation of this movie, which at first is at 1:30 and 3:45

Amazing video !!
This is ART ! love it
This mountain is amazing !
Didn't even think some of that stuff was possible.. Tanner you gnarly bro
Love his passion for skiing! Tanner fkn rips,
Every skiier knows that feeling of when you beat an intense line, and you just scream in joy
That second run down the face was unbelievable.
Gotta Love Crazy Back Country! Gotta Love GoPro!!
Wunderschöne Bilder und absoluter Wahnsinn: Tanner Hall lebt seinen Traum! ;-)
Tanner Hall is very inspiring! Trying to get at that point on skis. I even started my own TH-cam channel.
This video really inspired me good job man! :)
