Ikr.
Unicorn Power My parents met in The Neatherlands. I live in Argentna which in some places has bike routes. THEY ARE NOT ONLY IN HOLLAND! Although they are really famous for it
Malena Lara Well, the netherlands is number 1 with bicycle roads.

Damn, looks waaaayyyy too crowded there. Then again, it's NYC....
Yep population of over 10,000,000 it's huge!
It's manhattan. If you come to queens the 2nd New York City borough it's completely like a suburban place, houses, no buildings, pools, gardens, 2 people on the sidewalk per 4 minutes, everyone knows each other on the block and a big airport nearby.
Roberto Quesada I've only visited manhattan and I absolutely hated it. Which is odd because I was 13 and my trip consisted of Washington D.C. then New York. Before the trip we were asking our parents "do we have to go to D.C.? then we got to D.C. and there was nobody there I mean it was a ghost town and we loved it. Then we got off the amtrak in NYC and it was like a movie, someone getting arrested, car horns, random person playing drums in the street, and taxi's everywhere, and my sister of course got splashed by a car driving by. Being from oklahoma the super fast pace of new york was too much we wanted to go back to D.C. lol. We did do some awesome stuff in NYC though saw "The Producers" on broadway and visited the actual top of the empire state building, not the visitors deck but the 103rd floor and the weird upper atic thing above that. Manhattan is cool but just not for me. Sorry for the long reply.
Luckily I go above everyone! *thwip*
Roberto Quesada yeah nothing's like the city, but then again, here in Brooklyn it's a little more crowded and urban than Queens is, also I'd say Brooklyn is the 2nd NYC borough, GO BROOKLYN! lol
Holy shit, weaving in between all of that traffic *nopenopenope*
ikr
I read your comment as "open open open" lol
But it could be fun
Guys look, it's GTA in first person.
Don't forget about the middle finger
I live in nyc and I can confirm manhattans like this ALL DAY...
1:20 I remember there being a level like this in Mario Kart 64. XD
Toad's Turnpike
Toad's Turnpike
Yeah, it's in Mario Kart 8, too. Great course.
pffftt, Mario cart.. clown... you can't die playing Mario Cart... If you ever had this job, we used to take odds on how long before you were in hospital
Huxley Dadog He never said that this job is easy, did he? He just said it reminded him a level of Mario Kart. Which actually means it is hard, like in a video game. The only clown here... You know what I'm gonna say ;)
Meanwhile in the Netherlands
Oh wow that's scary. I love biking and I love cars, but biking onto oncoming traffic through cars? I think I'll pass
Welcolm to nyc lol. And trust me I've seen people do worse things than just bike in ongoing traffic in nyc
Welcolm to nyc lol. And trust me I've seen people do worse things than just bike in ongoing traffic in nyc
Lol
Lol
Is it just me or the messages on here showing up more than once?
I wonder if the pay is worth it.
Depends on how much the person is willing to pay
tummy lice His name is Paris. When you say you are "gay" for someone, it means you'll come out for them, and that you'd be interested in being in a relationship with him/her, if they were willing. Its more of an expression than anything though. If you're gay, your gay.
Basically, ***** was trying to make a joke. And no, I'm straight. xD
tummy lice Someone said I'll think you'll love Paris if you're a sight seer. ***** said that technicaly if you're a sight seer, you'd be gay with him. The joke is that someone said that you'll love Paris (the city) if you're a sight seer. The punchline was that Paris Vids (a human) said that if you're a sight seer then technically you'll be gay for him, because the first part of his channel name is Paris. So, its taken out of context. Do you get it now?
***** dude really? I just made a comment curious about how money they make and when I check back, this thread has descended into madness! Wtf is goin on lol
This actually looks like a fun job..
Geoffrey111995's HD Productions but then you could sue them
Geoffrey111995's HD Productions yea that too
Geoffrey111995's HD Productions oh
Geoffrey111995's HD Productions oh
I've always held some sort of respect for bike messengers. I think they're brave, adventurous, risk takers, in superman top shape. They're pretty cool.
1:44 ....what if you just follow the rules people on bike's/motorbikes are meant to follow and drive like you're in a car.
Then you'd be broke and never earn anything at all, as you'd be way way waaaaaaaaaaaaay too slow.
im a doorman living in nyc. i love our messengers !
"It's up to you to live in the world that exists, and not wish it was a better world." I wasn't expecting something that insightful from a buzzfeed video haha. That's amazing advice, I enjoyed watching this :)
THIS IS GIVING ME ANXIETY
wow
These are the videos I watch Buzzfeed for
I deal with messengers everyday in the city It's not NYC, it's just Seattle but there are plenty of them out there. I drive a large construction delivery truck in heavy traffic downtown. Before I watched this I was usually a little pissed at messengers. Thanks for the insight I have more respect now and will be more careful.
I love what he says at the end: "It's up to you to live in the world that exists, and not wish for a better world."
i would definitely watch a mini documentary on this
I'm from Toronto; but I love NY; it's just so MASSIVE...so much to see and do....intense, rich,...crowded...overwhelming...mind blowing.
I've always wanted to go to NYC! My cousin lives there and she can go shopping any time she wants. It's so beautiful, I can't wait to go there!
They need a whole separate lane for bikes so they dont need to swerve around all the time
There are bike lanes on major avenues, but not on other streets :)
Not enough room.
Ok. Ive never been to nyc or any other big city. My parents cant afford trips like that so ive never flown a plane at all and the coolest place ive been to is disney world but only once cause they saved money for 3 years
Grey Johnson that's okay. One day, you might be able to take cool vacations to new places when you grow up!
I'm gonna be an artist or graphic designer when I grow up. I don't know if that gets me a lot of money cause I haven't looked. Also about the poor thing, I have a big house but its just that my parents spend most of their money on groceries and the bills so yeah thats why they cannot afford things like that
I live here i here in New York, and i can confirm that yes, it does always look that hectic. LOL
Riding a bike in New York had been one of the best experiences of my life! If you ever go I recommend you to try it :)
We don't need a hash tag genital thing
"one with the traffic" shit man so deep, thats some yoda shit there
nothing compared to riding a bike in Indonesia, India, Bangkok or other countries like that, where motorcycles are everywhere. This is child's play.
You're child's play.
Mohammed Tuha :(
jk m8 XD
true story, man (or woman). I live in Indonesia and I was almost hit by motorcycle several times when I ride my bike. and it's not even in a big city.
Wow not a job I could do.
WOW.. That is INSANE.
Greg is just straight up. Awesome.
Wow what a freaking exciting job!
Bike messenger is an awesome job!!! Challenging, health, exploration, and income all in one package, which is awesome!!!
Seeing this after Premium Rush REALLY hammers it in!
Being a bike messenger is my dream job.
Good video. Makes you appreciate bikers and what they struggle with on the road.
This reminds me if premium rush
I want to be a bike messenger because of that movie
I wish they would make another movie about bike messengers but not with some stupid ass plot about immigration letters.
That movie was fun and real bikers made it so very relatable, but not very realistic. Like one bike cop chasing Joseph character all by himself, or all that stuff happening in the course of just an hour and half...
x9x9x9x9x9 Search youtube for "Line of Sight"
***** Willdo! Thank you!
Born and raised in Brooklyn ,NY one of kind place :)
Im an avid cyclist and i was cringing the entire time. These guys are insane and brave to me
I really want to go to NYC!
It isn't that great
Mike Blaid is fellow newyorker and can confirm.
I'm going next Tuesday :o
Dont listen to them . It is great. No other place like it
It's not as cool as people make it out to be. The only time it's fun is when you know what you're doing and where you are going. If not then you're not going to have a good time.
Makes me want to watch the movie Premium Rush all over again. I know that being a bike messenger is no picnic but to watch this is so cool
It's honestly a lot of work but it sorta is a beautiful thing. I love biking the city.
I live in NYC, and this was very cool to see.
I see bike messengers all the time in Manhattan, but to see/hear their point of view was interesting.
Awesome video
I respect the shit out of bike messengers! They keep the city moving so thanks guys!
As a biker from Texas, watching this video made me very anxious!
wow an entirely different perspective on such a subject.Kudos guys great job
Greg makes it sound so glamorous...
They passed by my house!!! But looking from the bikers perspective is totally different than watching them pass me by on the streets. It's such a dangerous job, especially with how some drivers are in nyc.
Oh my glob, I miss NYC so much... my heart is still there! Great video, it reminds me "When I get you alone" by Robin Thicke! :)
This sounds amazing but dangerous at the same time. I don't wanna get run over by a car and die.
I THINK THEY ARE THE UNSUNG HEROES OF THE BUSINESS WORLD
Greg Ugalde is a badass!
Looks interesting for a bike messenger despite weather conditions.
That looks terrifying
Why not just use souped up mopds? Just as skinny as bicycles, still can pedal if you want, can hit up to 40-50mph, and get like, 80++MPG.. That would sure increase productivity, allow more deliveries per day and never get the rider tired.
Just as maneuverable as a bicycle too.......
Not being a New Yorker myself, but still living in a city with it's own heavy congestion and messengering services (San Francisco), I have always wondered one thing about bike messengers; what is the dead of winter like for them? Do they just pack it up and wait until the snow thaws?
They switch to dog sledding haha
My boyfriends a bike messenger in NYC and he still works the same hours. The only difference is December is he gets paid more (higher tips), wears more clothing and eats hotter food haha. In NYC you don;t have to worry at all about icy roads because the street cleaners take care of that every day. You only have to worry about riding past a few snow banks and riding while it's snowy.
Nope, I got buddies that ride in the snow, some just use bigger tires. Manhattan is usually well maintained in terms of plowing the snow so you can still ride your bike in the dead winter.
Winters are nothing like the Midwest or upstate and further north. We rarely get snow before January, and other than one or two major storms it comes and goes pretty quickly. And average temps are 30s and 40s for nyc in winter, so overall it isn't that bad. It could be much much worse
Jodie Fox In December and maybe mid January, yes. But once that snows hits, Mother Nature is officially in GOD mode.
This is the Buzzfeed I love! Not stupid fact videos.
Wow, New York City looks fun.
This was really cool to see. I live in San Francisco but I love New York City
Won't lie, premium rush is one of my favourite films.
So they just break the law and go through red lights? That's dangerous to not only them but other drives..bikers have the same rules that any vehicle has on the roads
As a cyclist in the Netherlands, this seems so bizarre to me. We have cycling paths pretty much everywhere, even in the cities it's perfectly safe to go use the bike and a lot of people do use the bike to travel as a result.
Why don't they just ride on the sidewalks?
Because that's about as illegal as taking your car on the sidewalk.
+HipposHateWater It's also illegal to ride against traffic, but obviously they don't care about that law. Just watch 1:19 where they are obviously going the wrong way on a one way street.
because people exist
HipposHateWater really? Nyc sucks
Need like a longer documentary or something on this topic, I'd watch it.
This makes me want to watch Premium Rush
Same here c:
reminds me of cole from infamous
Lol Young Nick=Dave from Happy Endings! haha xD
I would ride my bike from my home in the bronx to the city during the summer. it's hectic, but really fun.
You guys are AMAZING!
That looks terrifying, exhilarating, and freeing all at once
This video makes me so anxious
WOW U GUYS ROCK! Please be SAFE.
My man Young Nick has a new mixtape coming out called "Bike Life".
This is actually not that dangerous. Look at how slow the cars go becuase of congestion. You cannot control other road users, but they are pretty much locked in the grid. Basically there isn't any room for a lot of spontaneity. Of course you have to worry about not being squished between two trucks or run over by a turning vehicle. However, all in all it isn't much more unsafe than small suburban places. I've biked like that my whole life. Biking in the wrong direction may even be the safest choice as you have the full attention of all the drivers. The bike laning system in NYC is horrible and usually even more dangerous than driving in the middle of the road or against the flow. However, it does not make any sense to have personal cars (not including police, ambulance, delivery, etc) in Manhattan. Everything would be faster, especially ambulances and public transport.
I was lukewarm on moving to NYC just to work at another big hotel in my big hotel chain.
But...
This job is perfect for me..
Dat message at the end though
Hey that guy Greg was in the tv show Triple Rush about messengers. Ashame that show got canceled.
This was a super dope video BuzzFeed.
The delivery company that I work for uses a rocket ship.
I used to do this job in the 80's when you could make good money. Then fax machines came along and eliminated an entire class of deliveries (like press releases). I quit long before email eliminated even more types of deliveries. People I know who still do this are making the same (or less) money that I used to - but I was making that in 1986 when my rent was $180/month.
Kudos to these guys and girls. Mercury would have a hard time keeping up with them!
This on a NYC BMX rider would be way crazier
You guys are awesome.
Im driving like this through my own city everyday, because I'm always late for class, I should do this if I can't find a job somedays.
Young Nick bouta drop his new mixtape. XD
Oh my god the weaving is so scary damnnnn. These guys are good.
NYC LOOKS SO COOL
Been to NYC (mostly Manhatten) myself the last think that would come to mymind is biking there.. i wouldn't even wanna drive anywhere in Manhatten...
You know I've always wanted to a bike messenger or at least a runner.
:) Seems fun to be getting paid while doing something I love: Running.
I recommend the movie premium rush! It's about being a bike messenger in ny
Pedaling all day while dodging cars and people... Isn't that *tiring*?
Wow. It takes courage to do that! I would get hit by a car straight away lol
That looks like so much fun.
imagine the stamina level on these guys damn thats like everyday never ending exercise
I once went on a bike in NY and it was scary as hell
Wow I'm genuinely surprised that Premium Rush was't an under or over state of bike messengers in New York
This video made me anxious
As an avid mountain biker and occasional commuter/BMXer, I would give my left nut to spend a couple weeks of my life as an NYC bike messenger. Ok maybe not my left nut (or right) but it would be an experience that far exceeds African safaris or European backpacking. Any ideas? I'd LOVE to do this!
+Paul Is just go there and do it
I see lots of them during fashion week.
reminds me of this movie with joseph gordon levitt ... premium rush :D
Ive lived in Miami and NYC but Miami is better. Its cleaner, the natures fresher, the buildings are better and cheaper. I miss Miami.
I bike in Philly everyday and this is exactly how it is. You put your life on the line because some assholes don't care about bicyclists and wouldn't care less if they hit us and left us to die (which happens way too much).
This is why I live in Washington, D.C.
Not TOO MUCH traffic...
Well, I'm not a messenger but I feel the same way biking in New York!
