You can start in Guage 7 by building from scratch!! Simple battery loco is a car battery, and starter motor; and gears and bike chain ⛓; and wheels from 4" round pipes, with larger flanges welded inside. With steel bars for axles. And pillow blocks for journals!! Then steel frame. But wooden body!! Several videos on TH-cam. Also Angle iron "L" for rails. And welded to steel flat stock for ties. This also is used for temporary panel tracks at hobby shows. Or you drill pilot holes 🕳 in angle irons and attach to wood ties with Hex head screws and power drill with batteries!! Best Wishes!! Have FUN!!!
It can be even cheaper than HO if you really want it to be. Think about how much one might spend on HO or god forbid Lionel and then think about how far that could have gone toward building a live steam loco. It's a multi-year project anyway so the cost gets split up to a more manageable level.
Some people sure put a lot of thought and effort into putting together this beautiful operation. And that's not counting the time and effort that went into the locomotives and cars that get to operate on it! Spectacular! ❤❤❤
OMG, awesome video, beautiful equipment. If I had a big farm with a lot of land, I'd definitely get a couple of these steam and diesel. Thanks for posting it. Have a blessed weekend, everyone
Always wanted to get into this level of model railroading. Could never figure out a way to afford it. Love to see people having fun.
Believe it or not 1.5 inch scale is actually cheaper to get into the g scale or most table top scales

Beautiful daylight express
Nice wistle on that Silverton Northern unit at the beginning. A GS-4 too! Always nice to see a new video from the steam channel!

Silverton had a great whistle on that Mogul.
OMG an Iron Donkey, I LOVE IT!!! 7:34
The little guy on the Shay is cool
That’s one busy mainline.
Best trains in the world now my friend
Look amazing I would love to ride on one
@1:28 I spy a Trainmaster in that shed.... any videos of it running?
I’m sure I filmed it at some point but I wouldn’t be able to pinpoint an exact ILS video in our Live Steam playlist.
😅Any details on the Silverton Northern would be appreciated. I really like the look and size of it.
I like the Rutland 730 locomotive and daylight most
0:19 that sounded like the actual Daylight!
Looks like the MoW gang needs to get out and accomplish some track work. Got some nice equipment, sure wouldn't want to see any of it off the rails.
When and where is this meet place. 😢
This is a private club outside Chicagoland
How did he make that and where did he get the plans for it
Where is this? A public place?
No, this is a private club outside of Chicago.
4454 smaller boiler would expire or explode at high speeds
A Shey!!!😅
That little kid was enjoying his life at his greatest, and even more in my opinion! Just so lovely!🙏
Too bad we didn’t get to see the 4-4-0
Wow, some of these little locomotives look to young to be away from their parents, but they sure are cute, lol. 🚂👶🚂👦🚂
