The original street until about the 1930's had much wider sidewalks. Car parking in NYC wasn't really a thing until about the 1930's, when most of the streets were turned into 1-way streets and the streets were widened in order to park cars. NYC sidewalks used to be shockingly wide, at least to our modern eyes.

Buy a valve core tool, and remove the valve cores from all 4 tires. It's a $5 fix, but most assholes can't figure it out. Also, put the stem caps back on to make it funnier.
@ColdHrtsMotoVlogs valve core is the little piece in the center of where you add air to tires. Removal only takes about 3 seconds per tire (with the tool) and the tire is flat In under a minute. Core costs less than a dollar to replace, so kinder than slashing tire.
