I call the dumping station a "spectator sport.' You said it best when you say we have all made mistakes. Number one rule for me is go slow, don't rush, and don't bother others that are dumping as you may cause them to make a mistake with the distraction. Speed kills....😁

Yes. Seen that too many times. Who said camping isn't fun lol! 😊

    Thanks for making this video.
It’s very informative and helpful. 🙂
The 💩pyramid….hmmmm….I bet a lot of people don’t realize about that. Thanks for reminding people about it.
It is also helpful to buy the attachments to add to the hose, especially see-through ones like you have.
It’s funny…the hose that usually comes with new and used trailers just don’t seem to be as good of a quality as they should be.
We ended up buying a better quality one and I’m so glad we did.

I do not even own a trailer, but watched the entire video. You guys make it all look so easy. Great technique removing your contaminated gloves ( operating room nurse here). Cheers

The glove removal is where I stumbled because it's second nature but I forgot how to show how to do it. I was a police officer for 30 years and Cheryl is a nurse. We've both worn a lot of gloves.

@@CampingwiththeColes Ah, that explains your attention to detail and Cheryl's organizational skills, and makes me like you both even more. You have definitely found your niche in making you tube videos. Looking forward to more awesome DIY and camping tip videos.

We pick up our new trailer next month... can hardly wait. This video was very timely and I'm sure we'll refer to it often before we head out on our first trip. Especially anxious for the warmer weather to arrive after shoveling out from yesterday's storm!

It was nice chatting with you two at the Kitchener RV Show. Eugene was telling me about your new trailer and plans. I've been thinking about it some more and have some concerns. Would you be able to email me at campingwiththecoles@gmail.com and let me know the dry weight of your trailer and the towing capacity of your tow vehicle. Thanks, Ben

Nice meeting you today at the rv show. We were quite flustered to meet you! You both have inspired us to hit the road and explore all of our beautiful Provincial Parks. Getting in shape now so we can hike and paddle board like you two. Maybe see you out there sometime! Maureen and Mark 👍🪵🏕️

It was great meeting you too. You certainly don't have to get in great shape to do what we do. We take it pretty easy. If you see us out there "in the wild" don't hesitate to stop and say hi again. Happy camping!

One tip I saw on another channel was to open the grey water valve first for a few seconds to make sure everything is connected properly, then close it and open the black tank valve. If the hose isn’t on right it’s better to have it pop off with grey water than black. Also, when dumping black water it’s good practice to keep your mouth closed. Don’t ask me how I know.

great video, if i can make a suggestion, with you bumper cap,. measure and mark the depth of cap. then drill a hole through the bumper and cap. then install a cotter pin or nail. this will help prevent loosening the cap..

It's amazing what you see at the dump station. More than once we've seen people fill up their fresh water tank with the hose from the dump spot. Yuck!

The one thing I do different is the clear piece you added with your hose I have one slightly shorter and I leave it attached to my trailer all the time with the cap on it. This way I can see if anything has leaked behind the cap before I take it off. Also if you are cleaning out your tank I hear Dawn detergent soap is suppose to be really good. The two worst things I seen at a dump station are 1. Oastler Lake, the guy was flushing his hose at the end and it came out of the ground and he flushed it onto his feet, he never stopped when it happened. 2. Awenda, he stuck the non-threaded flush hose into the trailer pipe and did a trailer flush onto the ground. It's March and camping is getting closer, we have Oastler Lake, Pog Lake, McGregor Point, Sauble Falls and Finlayson Point booked so far and excited might only be a few weeks before we take the cover off the trailer. What did you think of the prices on the Tear Drops at the RV Show, two of my neighbours also went and they all went on about the overpriced Tear Drops.

    • @CampingwiththeColes
      @CampingwiththeColes  ปีที่แล้ว

Putting the clear piece on then the cap is a great idea. Then you know for sure that the coast is clear to open the cap. I'll look into that when I get the trailer out of storage. At the RV Show the trailer prices were insane. A trailer like ours is $10000 to $15000 more than they were a couple of years ago. I suspect that the prices will drop as the demand slows down post pandemic. I hope so anyway.

@Camping with the Coles ours is a 2017 and the 2023 pretty much looks the same but double what we paid for ours in 2019.

What length of sewer hose would you recommend ?
