Great guide thank you so much for breaking it down! I struggle with sustain, would i do more dps with breton over dark elf or khajiit because of my sustain would be better to cast abilities faster and more often?
Good question. If you're struggling with Magicka sustain, first try using the Ghastly Eye Bowl food along with tri-stat potions. That *should* fix things. Breton would be lovely for sustain but you'd lose a noticeable amount of damage and I don't think it owuld be worth it. Up to you though!
Can you please add the trash rotation to the written guide on website or just comment here? I’m new to DK and this guide is great, but not sure what order to push the AOE trash skills in. Ty
Yeah that's a fair question, but the reason I don't offer a short written version is that it's SO highly dependent on length of trash pull, size of stack, how many enemies are still alive etc. There are just too many variables - it would take an entire new video! Maybe next time I'll try to include it. Thanks for the feedback!
Cool thanks for the build I do got some questions 1: Can I swap the maelstrom Greatsword for a Maul 2: Can I change the armor pieces and have them in different places than you did, I am trying to use gear I already have for the build and im unsure of how it will affect the build if I change things.
Yes and yes! Only thing I’d be aware of is the age of this video - it’s a few patches ago, and although not much has changed it won’t be as strong as it was. New DK videos are coming soon, but meanwhile check www.ninja-pulls.com (it says Gold Road, but this setup is still current). Happy hunting!
I think it’s mostly Annihilarch’s Chosen heavy pieces, which drops from completing Oblivion portals in Deadlands. Or you can buy it from Guild Traders.
Jumping back in the game after 6 years of not playing. Great build and explanation. I feel like a noob again but gonna try this build. When you say magicka, does that mean all attribute points go into magicka?
Yes, that’s pretty much all it means these days. Keep in mind that this is a few patches ago, so stay tuned for new, up-to-date rotations (they’re coming).
Good question! For 'soft' heals I'd remorph Degeneration to Structured Entropy, and/or remorph Venomous Claw to Burning Embers (provided you can sustain it). Both of these DOTs heal you while they're active. For a more bursty heal, I'd probably slot Coagulating Blood (or Resolving Vigor if you prefer a Stamina heal) instead of Inner Light or Carve. Carve is amazing in long fights, but if fights are short or you're switching targets often, its much less valuable. Hope that's helpful.
Now that we're approach U43, how does this build fare now? I only have relequin and nirn so far and wanting to use flame whip as my spammable for its animation so its closer to what I want right now.
This setup still works, but Runecarver has been bugged in the meantime. It’s much stronger with that set, which works in most situations and which drops in Scrivener’s Hall - one of the coolest recent dungeons I think. Many of the basics in the setup are the same. Hope that helps. Latest video here: th-cam.com/video/CDpGhDhbSjo/w-d-xo.html
Thanks! I'm actually going down the list alphabetically this time (Stamina Dragonknight in a couple of days) and hoping I'll get through all of them soon.
Are you casting it every 32 seconds? Many players make the mistake of casting it every 12 seconds or so, which is wrong. Also, are you using a Charged front bar?
Everything into Magicka. If you need more Health in group content then I would suggest using food to get it. For solo arenas you'll need to make some tweaks.
Every second, RIGHT before you press each ability if you can. You will miss them now and then, but this is a big part of maximising damage in ESO. Also, there is a much NEWER version of this video updated for the new patch here: th-cam.com/video/CDpGhDhbSjo/w-d-xo.html
Doesn't matter all that much. High Elf, Dark Elf and Khajiit are the top 3 for Magicka DPS. High Elf also has a nice passive to help us sustain all those Stamina abilities we're using, but any of those races will work great. If you want a Stamina character you could also look at Orc.
I'm not sure if I'm dumb, stupid or blind, but I can't seem to find anywhere that says how to balance my attributes between magic and stam... Please help
You are none of those things! Put it all into Magicka - that's the default for any Magicka DPS setup. It's very rare that you'll need to use Attribute points to boost your Health. And no, you didn't miss anything - I don't even mention it in the video because it's primarily about the rotation. Hope that helps!
Any other damage Mythic. Ur-Mage, Death Dealer’s, Sea Serpent’s Coil, Mora’s Whispers. It very much depends on the fight. But I use the Kilt whenever I can.
I tried this with tri pots and hero pots stam sustain was alot better with tri pots i don’t understand how to sustain with hero and hit 130k anything im missing? Maybe change a glyph or two to stam recovery
Yo! You shouldn't need heroism potions on the dummy. Are you beating 120k without them? Sadly, unless I can see a CMX it's hard to say what you're missing. Try the jewelry glyphs, try different Armor weights. Being an Altmer helps as well. Good luck!
Yes both Zaan pieces are Light in the setup shown here. You can see all the details at 10:15. Pillar of Nirn has been the way it is for a long time, so I don't see why they would nerf it, but there's no way to be sure.
This is a damage setup, for dungeons and trials especially. Honestly, most stuff in overland dies in 2 seconds so yeah this will work great! But if you’re soloing world bosses then I’d definitely grab Major Resolve and a self heal and maybe use Witchmother’s Potent Brew as your food. That should be enough.
Yes, you'll lose a bit of damage but more importantly the rotation will become harder to sustain. At least against the dummy. In content it might be different - especially if fights are short AND your group has Encratis, then an Inferno back bar is stronger!
@@dylantorres1402 Sul-Xan is amazing in trash if you can keep the buff rolling between pulls. 2H is just as strong in content. There are many reasons why staves are popular - here are the main ones: 1. If you have Encratis in the group you get a little extra Flame damage (we don't get that buff on the dummy, and the average group won't have it either) 2. Sustain is easier with good supports, so we don't need as many Stamina DOTs to make the setup viable. Staff on the dummy is TOUGH on your Magicka. 3. After all, this build will be mostly useless in 4 people content ... or am I not understanding something ?. I really like the mage dk, but I personally have an aversion to the kilt😅
Hmm. It almost sounds like we're playing different games. I never need self-heals unless I'm doing a portal mechanic or something unusual. Just bring a semi-competent healer and you're done. If you're doing 3DD dungeons, then everything changes (pen, buffs, sustain etc.). As for the kilt, I don't tend to use it in trash fights, and there are definitely some boss fights where it doesn't work. Maybe watch the whole thing again. I thought it was clear which parts of the rotation are static, but I guess I could have made it clearer. The part you're talking about is just where I describe the prebuff and opening - the 20s sequence you want to follow (until execute) is laid out in the written guide in the description. It is pretty static all in all, and quite easy to do. Hope that helps.
i would love to see people in the eso builds community stop with the fucking annoying ass meta builds clearly not built for part of the supposed genre eso is techincially SUPPOSED to be with that being fucking role play but are recreations of everything else with slight tweaks... if you guys who everyone watches could just start to make videos like area of effect where you base everything on a theme and than meta build around a theme it becomes fun as the theme restricts you to being very choosey about your picks and makes you really think about every set you use and every ability you slot and at the end often can be PLENTY viable still and of course even more enjoyable now that its not a min maxers wet dream...
I don’t think you or anyone else wants me to TELL them how to roleplay. That’s antithetical to the whole exercise. Also, if you’re roleplaying in ESO you won’t need a build because overland content presents zero challenge. Everything dies as soon as you look at it, which kills immersion before it even begins. That’s why I disagree with you fundamentally about what type of game this is. It is very poorly suited to roleplaying and is designed primarily for storytelling, PvP and group content.
