This was just... An astounding compilation of such vibrant animation. Mad respect to all those who worked on each and every frame. And thank you for posting this compilation.
The most Impressive part of Spikes fight was that the guy he was fighting was high on red eye and it made his reflexes so fast that a bullet was less than 6 inches from his face and he was still able to dodge it. Yet Spike could Punch him in the face 10 out of 10 times still. Just shows how Superhuman Spike really is. Most Anime protagonists are insane though and make that look silly. Bebop will always be one of my favorites though.
I love how in many of these they take natural movements, instead of doing things perfectly like robots they have a bounce and rhythm to them, taking unnecessary movements like waving their hands around. It makes the scenes feel so much more real and it shows off the quality of the animation.
no bright, flashy contrasting effects against dimmed colors, no magical energy blasts. Just the beauty of two or more beautifully choreographed people beating the crap out of each other with their own tools, as it should be.
If I could like this video 1000 times it wouldn't be enough. Your videos were the first to make me really appreciate the animation process, absolutely beautiful editing and clip selection. Thank you for uploading this.
this is what i love about anime so much, you cannot replicate that fast paced combat and those moves in real life (or filmed movies to be exact) and cartoons either don't focus on fighting as much as the story or they are trying to appeal to a younger audience. the closest thing to anime i've seen in regular cartoons is ATLA which is an amazing cartoon btw. anime is that middle ground between cartoon and action movies (as well as mature content *ahem*) that merges that smooth movement of animation and the fast paced action scenes in filmed movies and amplifying it using the power of animation
I just love smooth and great animations like these, Mad respects to the animation team that spent all their time just to create such amazing scenes. Especially everyone from Ufotable and kyo animations, Hopefully most of the viewers would soon, or maybe one day, appreciate such godly works.
As much as I bloody love this compilation, it really drives the feeling that there's two types of fight animation. There's the stuff that is driven by the characters, where their styles are put front and center and the action is built on very specific choreography, and then the sakuga stuff that's driven by the action itself and uses a weirdly similar set of attacks and action beats. Feels like shows like Naruto, FMA and a few of the ones I'm not familiar with all bleed together and doesn't really tell me anything about how the characters fight, whereas stuff like Bebop, Blade Runner and Boy and the Beast tells you exactly who these people are by their choreography.
it looks so cool and i am really impressed by the dedication and handwork that these artists made to create these scenes. But all of them are completely unrealistic but that is what entertainment is for a power fantasy.
Oh gosh oh gosh thanks for the tip about the subtitles! I'd been pissed about the default style for ages and had no idea it could be customised. This is one of the most detailed uploads I've seen!
While I'll be the first to say I love most of the recent cuts Nakamura has done lately. I do miss the old highly choreographed cuts he used to do with Cowboy bebop and the original adaptation of Full metal. I haven't seen many animators recently that like to have large amounts of choreography In their fight scenes. Anybody have any reccomendations?
Mantra Pro Thanks for the recommendations friend. I've seen all of Naruto so I'm aware of matsumotos cuts, and I LOVE Kameda. I'm gonna give all those animators a try plus Tsukikage Ran. In terms of what I like, when it comes to fight scenes I like a lot of choreography, but my favorites are sporadic action scenes with over exaggerated movements like Kameda, and Yoh Yoshinari. Thanks for the help again!
Elijah Paulk No problem dude but i have listed animators who are linked to Naruto mostly so maybe i need to give you new names lol since you have seen it. Now first i am going to give you some popular names and you can try them for fun. Norio Matsumoto (already mentioned), Shinya Ohira, Shinji hashimoto, Hiroyuki Okiura, Mitsuo Iso, Osamu tanabe, Takeshi Honda, Hidetsugu Ito, Masashi Ando (not to be confused with Masahiro Ando), Toshiyuki Inuoe, Akihiko Yamashita, Hideaki Anno, Shingo Yamashita (although young compared to above mentioned legends but still talents nonetheless) etc. Moreover check Animator expo. Shows like Tetsuwan Birdy Decide, Canaan, Yozakura quartet Ova and tv series, maybe Noein should be good for action i suppose.
I love the fact that often with sakuga involving people, rather than finding some stiff posing, you notice a lot of poses, yet the characters flow into those poses, rather than it feeling like they were put in that pose on purpose. I guess that goes for most animation, but for some reason, I really feel it with sakuga.
Hey Hobbes? Thanks for this vid, seriously. I didn't know that there were still tons of people who appreciates these kinds of h2h combat scenes I'm real grateful that these weren't just those over the top, flashy blur that a lot of anime have today. So, so thanks a lot Also all these mature discussions on animators and their great works, that's a huge plus😌
Omg I typed something else in my search bar and decided to give this a chance thinking I would watch the first 2 mins or skemthing but I was amazed at these clips and my jaw was on the floor the entire time!
Why is absolutely nobody talking about that last fight scene? Not only was it beautifully animated, but the form between the fighters is actually extremely accurate, and so is the dodging. Definitely the best hand-to-hand fight scene I've ever watched when it comes to anime, purely due to how accurate it is.
Best animated h2h scene come from Street Fighter 2 the animated movie. Dropped in 96, yet to this day there has never been anything so realistic and fluid, truly beautiful.

A round of applause for all the hardworking animators out there
I love how in many of these they take natural movements, instead of doing things perfectly like robots they have a bounce and rhythm to them, taking unnecessary movements like waving their hands around. It makes the scenes feel so much more real and it shows off the quality of the animation.
"Step up and GET SOME!"
Love watching a good scrap. Anyone can pull a trigger, but a badass knows how to knuckle.
女の子が戦うシーンも好きだけど、やっぱおっさん同士の渋い戦いの方が好きだな

no bright, flashy contrasting effects against dimmed colors, no magical energy blasts. Just the beauty of two or more beautifully choreographed people beating the crap out of each other with their own tools, as it should be.
Why not have both used in variety
If I could like this video 1000 times it wouldn't be enough. Your videos were the first to make me really appreciate the animation process, absolutely beautiful editing and clip selection. Thank you for uploading this.
This type of fights give me some kind of satisfaction
スパイク、やっぱりすごいかっけえ...
ああ…✨
this is what i love about anime so much, you cannot replicate that fast paced combat and those moves in real life (or filmed movies to be exact) and cartoons either don't focus on fighting as much as the story or they are trying to appeal to a younger audience. the closest thing to anime i've seen in regular cartoons is ATLA which is an amazing cartoon btw.
anime is that middle ground between cartoon and action movies (as well as mature content *ahem*) that merges that smooth movement of animation and the fast paced action scenes in filmed movies and amplifying it using the power of animation
Okay so you don't do research, got it
i know this comment is old but one cartoon that has absolutely goated fights is Rise of the TMNT, you can find clips of the best fights on YT
I love this video. It’s one of the reasons why I love anime so much. All these fights were beautiful. Long live anime🤟🏿🤟🏿
After all those years, still my favorite. Master piece.
Nothing but hands being throooown with some dope jazz music to back it up - you love to see it
I just love smooth and great animations like these, Mad respects to the animation team that spent all their time just to create such amazing scenes. Especially everyone from Ufotable and kyo animations, Hopefully most of the viewers would soon, or maybe one day, appreciate such godly works.
Facts
It's hilarious how well cowboy bebop jazz works with Naruto and Full metal Alchemist 😂👌. Spot on vid by the way ❤
@@weeb2606 Chill boy
@@luigimiguel9999 well, the other guy was being a troll 🤷🏾♀️
Lol the troll ain’t wrong tho. They took the train fight scene from cowboy bebop and used it in naruto vs neji
@@atmeifyougay when u fail to realize that it was animated by the same person -_-
@@jamessavage5275 yes i know that. still doesnt change the fact that they used the same animation.
動きや構図の一つ一つが練られていてメリハリがあるから、作画自体が多少雑でも見ていて気持ち良い
今のアニメが失いつつある技術だ
そうですね
The music, the animation, the choreography, the perspectives, the martial arts. It’s all so *tasteful*
One of the best videos I have ever watched
ワンパンマンは他のと比べてもカメラワークだったり演出が異次元だな
人物と背景同時に動かしてるの天才すぎる
それは思った
1:01 was sweet as hell it went so well with the music at that part
What anime is that ?
Blade runner short
Not full anime
Some pretty high quality stick fights right there.
This is my favorite youtube video of all time
I heavily respect the time an effort it took to makes this
I NEEDED THIS im doing animations and i needed more hand to hand combat moves and techniques i learned alot from these
Wow you went through a LOT of anime and definitely pick out some great ones!! KUDOS
いつも最高な動画をありがとうございます☺️
I am watching it 50th time, it's just so entertaining
Wow its like STUPIDLY entertaining to watch people fight hand to hand combat with various kinds of jazz playing
Feels like shows like Naruto, FMA and a few of the ones I'm not familiar with all bleed together and doesn't really tell me anything about how the characters fight, whereas stuff like Bebop, Blade Runner and Boy and the Beast tells you exactly who these people are by their choreography.
man oh man, i never get tired of cowboy bebop's fight scenes
it looks so cool and i am really impressed by the dedication and handwork that these artists made to create these scenes. But all of them are completely unrealistic but that is what entertainment is for a power fantasy.
BEST HAND TO HAND COMPILATION SO FAR!!! Cuz it was really all hand to hand. BTW nice music, gives that fuzzy vibe
In terms of fight choreography, I think Sword of the Stranger is very satisfying.
Yea he is more about effects now he puts extra work into shorter scenes to make the quality that much higher
Naruto always gives some great hand to hand combat
This is an elegantly made video. Great music choices. The songs gave a different feel and made following the fights easier for some reason
I didn't know that there were still tons of people who appreciates these kinds of h2h combat scenes
I'm real grateful that these weren't just those over the top, flashy blur that a lot of anime have today.
So, so thanks a lot
Also all these mature discussions on animators and their great works, that's a huge plus😌
Omg I typed something else in my search bar and decided to give this a chance thinking I would watch the first 2 mins or skemthing but I was amazed at these clips and my jaw was on the floor the entire time!
Wah I like hand to hand combat more than just a nuke magic fight 😍
Dang that transition between Bahi and Xeno at 7:40 that's super nice.
you can clearly see that there is some similarity in their styles now.
what's this show? the 7:40 one
omgwtfrofltomato space dandy
That wasn't bahi it is takashi mukouda.

idk what I should thank you more for, this kick ass compilation video or the list of great anime I'll watch after midterms are over :D
Love that Sakura fight 4:22
*trashcan fight**
3:58 - 4:14 if someone made a 24 hour loop of that, I'd probably watch the whole thing.
I'm not gonna lie, when I heard 1st Samurai come on, I was overjoyed. Good choices man!
Another splendid compilation, always perfect all the way
Well, this was certainly satisfying.
カウボーイビバップめっちゃ好き
Ah yes the intense jazz music, the transitions and people beating the shit out of each, this is exactly what I like with my coffee.
Best animated h2h scene come from Street Fighter 2 the animated movie. Dropped in 96, yet to this day there has never been anything so realistic and fluid, truly beautiful.
Damn those animations be lookin kinda *THICC*
