@Chief Sy -Anime and Gaming- sakuga boy does those kinds of transitions and times clips nicely with the music although they are pretty short compared to this and somewhat uncommon. Besides that yea, the length of the videos is what makes him great with the amount of editing it would take as you can see from each upload date. Definitely holds the title of one of the best sakuga channels
man those transition scenes are beautifully executed!!!! not a single flaw. keeps interest and attention the entire time. low key feels like watching a great movie. that kind of movie you just can't take your eyes off the screen. not even for a second.
@@epistarter1136 He's on a goat level to me the only person that can come on his level Hip-hop Sakuga his videos are crazy and transitions also he has both long and short videos a mixture check him out if you don't know him👌🏼👏
The whole point of MADs (at least as I see it) -instead of AMVs- is to show the scene with the credit to its key animator And yeah, although the Sakugabooru site definitely helps with the credits, it's still a lot of work to credit every scene when there are so many of them in 25 minutes of footage
I came back to comment this. I've never seen anyone reference material so beautifully and meticulously. I thought it was a link to a text file or something.
I'm a fan of you hobbes but I don't believe you have done that after the liquid sakuga vid in just 5 months, you would have to edit every single day for what 6 hours??? For me it's not possible to do something that take this much TIME and WORK when you aren't even guaranteed to get anything back at all (money) other than self satisfaction and practice as a hobby and honestly there are way easier hobbies to have but like you have to eat, go to your real job, rest a bit and sleep, live your life, practice your hobbies that aren't WORKING etc and if I'm correct there is no way a human can stand more maybe you have max 3 hours for editing. So either you have been preparing that edit 2 year until you have done that video or you are insanely insane but either way I have a mad respect for you.
@@-shizu2776 Thanks my man. It's pretty common for industry editors to edit in 10+ hour sessions. Editors I know very often work into the early hours of the morning. Video editing can just take a really long time. I worked on this video around 4-5 hours after work on weekdays, 10+ hours a day on almost all weekends/days off during those months (it was a bit over 2 months, I think like 2 months and 10 days?). This video was a big deal for me so I put way more time into it than i did my previous vids (my older vids would've taken around 100 hrs max to make I think, some videos took just a couple of days before this one). I was also in lockdown when I made this so not much else I could do at the time. Plus I wasn't working on the Liquid MAD during that whole 5 months. I worked on it probably 3-4 weeks total during that time period.
@@HobbesSakuga Thank you for your answer Hobbes you just then confirmed how insanely passionated hard worker person you are so I would like to ask you what is the motivation behind this madness??? "Just how could people do this much with only passion" is something im trying to find in my life since I am a very demotivated person and continue becoming more and more when seeing the mediocrity or even the failure of my own work so I would really like to know please. Maybe you have always been a , but in the other case were you found one day "The light" of your life I would like to know how really it happened
This is, without hyperbole, the greatest Sakuga MAD I have ever watched. I had no idea it was 25 minutes when I started watching it with some friends and it is the gift that keeps on giving. Every transition and every song is better than the last. This is why you are the best Sakuga channel on TH-cam. Astounding work!
Thank you so much! If you want to find ways to watch the shows/movies I used in the vid btw I made a book to go with the MAD, links to watch every show/movie in there: hobbessakuga.files.wordpress.com/2020/10/action-sakuga-mad-companion-book-1-1.pdf
Not being hyperbolic when I say this: this video is probably the closest example of animated perfection that I've ever seen. The editing is so *absurdly* smooth, and the music so *absurdly* well-integrated into each scene, that I felt like I should be paying for this after having watched it. Hard work like this can't be overstated. This video isn't just a montage, it's art in its rawest form. Absolutely incredible.
Thanks for saying this so perfectly because I've felt this way for a long time. Two years later and it's still easily my favorite anime compilation (maybe favorite video on general?) of all time and it truly is a piece of art. I have it downloaded to my phone so I can watch everywhere I go😁
This entire channel is a treasure. The amount of effort that goes into these videos all the way down to the comments with the music and details. And shit like 1:55 are the cherry on top. I'm glad I stumbled upon this channel last year. It's beautiful.
I agree so much, I love this channel, it keeps reminding me how anime can be such a great narrative media and helps me see all the great works that have been done! This is pure gold!!
I know I’m a little late but hobbes sakuga, if you see this, I just wanna say thank you so much for making such beautiful videos without expecting much in return. What you’ve done has played a major role in allowing sakuga animation to be available on such a mainstream platform, and on top of that making them very appealing so not only can Animators or sakuga lovers appreciate the videos, but also regular people who can’t deny that these videos are extremely well made. You’ve probably inspired and motivated many people to even become animators, including me, and again on behalf of all of your viewers *thank you* .
Haha dude hell yeah. At first I was trying to recognize them as they played but eventually I gave up, turned on subs, and started downloading the ones I couldn't pin down.
It was such a pleasant surprise! I low key started freaking out when I saw it included haha, it's great to see the excellent animators from Rise of the TMNT getting the attention they deserve
Damn that's a sakuga mad that doesnot only spotlight sakuga, but also photography, cinematography and background works. Theses could definitly deserve their own "MAD" category.
Videos like this always remind me how much I love every anime. I love new anime, I love old anime, I love popular and obscure anime. In the end, no matter how many "critics" there are putting a show down or how popular it is to dislike a particular series, videos like these shows in the end that the work and love put into ANY one of these shows will always override the words of people viewing it. That's why I love every one of them. Man, I really love animation.
Couldn't have said it better. Honestly, I'm not a fan of the whole "anime fandom" thing and avoid "anime reviewers", online forums ect. I just watch what seems interesting in my free time and lose myself in the beautiful animations! :^]
The anime of today takes inspiration and uses the building blocks of the past, so elitists that bash old or current anime are dumb. This cycle will continue as current anime will mold the future of the medium as well. I definitely implore people of today to watch both older and newer shows because it's interesting seeing how anime began and where it's gotten to.
Perfect example of how music is universal. Love the cowboy bebop theme remix! And the use of both old and new anime. Wonderful selection on both sides!
This may have dethroned the “effects” video as my favorite Sakuga MAD mix. I love everything about it, from the action scenes that you selected, to the music choices, and even the transitional sequences. It’s soooo well done. Speaking of the Effects video, I noticed that the first song in THIS video actually called back to the first song in that one. It was a really nice touch
I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the time stamps, anime names, names of the animators, and of course *your taste in music* because hot damn It’s obvious you appreciate animation as an art form. This whole channel is proof of it. Keep doing what you’re doing man! I’ve found some great anime and animators because of you :)
ikr? I was so excited because it was just so aesthetically pleasing and the animation looked great and then it turns out its the most badass bike ad to exist
Wow. I'm....speechless. The sheer amount of work the animators put into this is just purely Mad. And the amount it most of taken you to put this together must have been a challenge as well. Raise a glass to both Hobbes Sakuga and Japanese animators!!!( including the American and Korean animators to.)
When I feel doubtful about my dream of becoming an animator, this video always reminds me why I want to be one. With older/newer talent giving us these incredible cuts it’s almost inspiring.
Compiling these in sync with the music, transitioning from one scene to another without "harming" the original material is an art form in and of itself.
man, it's like every half year that I come back to see this, and every time, I just get more respect fo everything in these videos. this is absolutely why I fell in love with animation. Impossibility of these shots makes these animations and movements even more powerful than anything that could be achieved in othermediums. There's almost a sort of honour to these animations, a respect emparted from the animator to the page. each frame needed to be lovingly made, every pose planned for, every background painted, every line drawn. animation is expensive and time consuming, so to see so much effort put into such small clips is amazing. It feels like it actually changes how stories can be told. I'm incredibly thankful for the fact that of all the things for me to fall in love with, it was this.
As a long time viewer of this channel ive gotta say this gave me just as much hype as a finale to a beloved long running series, the music choices were great with each song pertaining to a different kind of action. The future funk Plastic Love remix being effects much like the dedicated effects video and the Bebop Tank remix for hand to hand, again, much like the dedicated hand to hand video. unfortunately i cant go back and check the swordplay video but there is no better swordplay music than a Samurai Champloo Shiki No Uta remix, the gunplay segment also felt like it had a nice through line with the sort of prep compilation at the start and then going IN with the pure action. Your videos keep on getting better and better and somehow you keep making them longer which is FFFFUCKING FFFANTASTIC! Also the interludes somehow made the whole video seem candid (didint know an amv could do that) and i really like it. Basically you and your channel are amazing, congratulations on your magnum opus. Edit: just saw the companion book and... wow. You put in so much effort for something that didnt need to be done but did it anyway. Your channel is definitely the most extended love letter to animation ever and that companion book proves it. THE BEST 100K SUBS CELEBRATION EVER.
I just want to thank you for putting so much effort into finding these clips and especially crediting the animators behind them. As an animator student, your sakugas help me so much as references and definitely eases the burden of finding good ones. Your whole channel's a gem for animators and animation enthusiasts alike, just subscribed! :)
This is amazing, the interludes make it almost seamless transitioning to different parts. Your editing is already amazing and this just took it to the next level. I was glued to the screen for all 25 min. Your a real inspiration and I hope to be even half as good at editing in the future. Thank you for the hard work and inspiring content.
ARE WE NOT GONNA TALK ABOUT THE FACT THAT THIS IS *HIS* REMIX OF PLASTIC LOVE!?! EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS VIDEO FROM CLIPS, TRANSITIONS ,TO MUSIC IS A MASTERPIECE!
This video was 25 minutes long but somehow I felt like I was going through a magical journey of my life. The editing, the pacing, the music, they are perfection. The fighting sequences you chose are high-qualitied and so impactful! This is YOUR BEST VIDEO SO FAR! As an aspiring artist, this video just fueled my imagination and motivation to create my own art!
I was wondering when we'd get something new. This was unbelievable. Worth the 5 month wait. I went to watch this video while I ate my dinner, but I just sat there with a burger in my hand and my mouth wide open for 25 minutes. Burger got cold.
You know which video to give instant like when you see it. Edit: Jesus Christ, how many Anime's are in this video? The hours it took to edit them.....RESPECT!
I’m glad this person also appreciates animation from other places. Don’t get me wrong, anime animation is really good but it’s nice seeing styles from other places too.
I'm so happy this channel exists. I really enjoy watching the masterly pieces of animation you pick and the soothing yet joyful music you add to your compositions, which just creates such a comfortable, relaxing experience
HEY HEY MAN JUST HEAR ME OUT OK. YOU ARE....... BY FAR. MY FAVORITE AMV CHANNEL OF ALL TIME AND YOU WILL BE. YOU HAVE GIVEN ME SUCH INSPIRATION TOO. KEEP UP THE OUTSTANDING WORK
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. These works of animation are the product of great vision and mastery of craft. They are phenomenal. But it is another form of art entirely to compile said works with such grace, such synergy as Hobbes has done yet again. Brilliant work.
Your editing skill is so on point. Every cut is a perfect transition to the next movement. You really understood how momentum and flow work in action scenes well.
Watching this makes me recognize, enjoy, and appreciate how much time and effort and goes into these animations. Just the flow, style, and beauty in each of these. Animations are truly amazing works of art!
Absolutely euphoric to watch, especially the Itano Circus segment (absolutely nailed that bit!). First chapter completely hooked me in and the rest just made it even better!
The editing of the clips, how they’re put together, the music that lines up perfectly with the kicks and shots, the amount of time they put into researching the animators, giving us time stamps, and every other detail about this channel and its videos, just phenomenal. The production quality is unmatched on TH-cam, I’ve yet seen a better amv maker out there.

GUYS CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE TRANSITIONS BETWEEN THE SCENES WHAT EVEN MASSIVE AWEOME EDITING AND COMPILATION
This guy is the king of transitions
@Chief Sy -Anime and Gaming- sakuga boy does those kinds of transitions and times clips nicely with the music although they are pretty short compared to this and somewhat uncommon. Besides that yea, the length of the videos is what makes him great with the amount of editing it would take as you can see from each upload date. Definitely holds the title of one of the best sakuga channels
man those transition scenes are beautifully executed!!!! not a single flaw. keeps interest and attention the entire time. low key feels like watching a great movie. that kind of movie you just can't take your eyes off the screen. not even for a second.

Holy crap, so much effort is put into _everything!_
The whole point of MADs (at least as I see it) -instead of AMVs- is to show the scene with the credit to its key animator
And yeah, although the Sakugabooru site definitely helps with the credits, it's still a lot of work to credit every scene when there are so many of them in 25 minutes of footage
I came back to comment this. I've never seen anyone reference material so beautifully and meticulously. I thought it was a link to a text file or something.

thank you sm bro this was amazing, I still rewatch your videos over and over
IT WAS OVER 500?????????

@@HobbesSakuga We don’t deserve you man, your way of doing things is amazing!!!XD

Best sakuga I've seen. Incredible job! Thank you for your hard work.
Same
This comment was really good to read.
I definitely implore people of today to watch both older and newer shows because it's interesting seeing how anime began and where it's gotten to.
i really cant comprehend how this could get ANY BETTER it feels like we have reached our limitation but hopefully not
Perfect example of how music is universal.
Thanks for noticing! I wanted to make a connection with the effects video
Agreed, Effects has always been the pinnacle of this channel, but this video is the damn closest I've seen to him topping it.

@@shizu2345 lol you got me there.
These are some of the cleanest edits I've ever seen. Well done man
I swear the music is as gorgeous as the animation. The way each section is "themed", swordplay, guns, explosions. Beautiful, all of it.
man, it's like every half year that I come back to see this, and every time, I just get more respect fo everything in these videos. this is absolutely why I fell in love with animation.

This is amazing, the interludes make it almost seamless transitioning to different parts. Your editing is already amazing and this just took it to the next level.
