People in the pc lobbies with cross play call these people console shitters 🤣 because it takes them so long to load into the match 🤣 it may not always be a console person but in my experience it is a BOATLOAD OF THE TIME 😂

Quickscoping in BO6 is a real pain, the sniper rifles are seriously wrecked and even the pro snipers say that this is the worst CoD for sniping. Yet these same pros pop off in their TH-cam videos like people aren't even shooting back. I was a talented quickscoper in previous CoD's and went on those goodlookin' streaks and stuff, but I struggle like crazy to quickscope people effectively in BO6. The full-auto spray competition is just too fierce. It's not like anyone's waiting 480 ms for ME to finish my ADS, yet the enemies in the pro sniper videos always seem to patiently wait for the guy to take off half the team before anyone starts shooting back. They can't string together 5 bullets between themselves to save their lives. I should get gud against worse players, I guess.

The beauty of no SBMM isn’t these lobbies. It was about VARIETY! You get 1 or 2 enemy pros, 2 bots and 2 mid players with the balance changing from time to time
Exactly, it was always a mix of players of all different skills. It was great. Even if you were sub par, you'd always have a chance because of the random mix on both teams.
add on the fact that lobbies also stayed together and it was perfect. if somebody didn't like the lobby then they could jump around until finding one they did like
This game is basically unplayable as a solo player, going up against full stacks and my team is loaded with fingerless timmies who don’t know their arse from their elbow.
facts they need to bring back the mercenary playlist for solo players ..the sbmm is a pain for sure but running in to full parties pretty much makes obj game modes unplayable for solos and that's so limiting.
My biggest problem with SBMM is not being able to play with my friends with varying skill levels. The better players might get just slightly easier lobbies, but friends maybe trying out the game are getting destroyed every game and just end up leaving. Old CoDs were fun for everyone
@ I do, but my friends at least got a handle on the game to where they’re not just getting dumpstered every game, you need to encourage your friends with the strats you know to help them compete at your level.
Either use a lower level acc or just encourage them say at least you getting better quicker than if you played by yourself . Getting cooked is a great teacher
Your lucky to get 15-0 , I get 5 kills most then die then a kill or two followed by 4 deaths then repeat always barely going positive or even or fight to go barely negative

Bro I have around a 1.4 KD in BO6 and I literally get 100 ms ping and CHINESE players in my NA East lobbies with a fiber connection. Had to stop playing after the first week. I refuse to play a game that is systematically rigged against me.
I also have a 1.4 and this is the opposite of what I am experiencing. I genuinely cannot tell the difference between SBMM and just regular matchmaking.

My win loss is now 9-32 lmao. Like ???? What the hell is going on ? Kd is 1.25. Not kidding 6-10 games half my team backs out and I’m 1 of 3 players who play til the end. SBMM is a nightmare
sbmm has ruined yet another cod for me. I work a full time 9-5 like many other people here but I manage to still be decent at the game (I used to no life cod as a kid) currently holding a 2.0 k/d and my lobbies are literally unbearable. I'm getting matched with only people who play non stop and have everything unlocked while I'm using guns with almost no attachments trying to compete lol I literally got merged with #3 in the world (nukesquad) when all I want to do is chill and enjoy the game without being a tryhard every match. I cant even play with irl friends because of how bad its gotten... i'm forced to play zombies because that's the only way we can all play cod together.

I’m so glad I got to experience world at war mw2 mw3 blops1 and 2 multiplayer when it was good. The whole franchise dropped off when advanced warfare came out.
i started playing cod at my brothers house it was cod 4 and it was so cool back then I had a lot of fun playing at the weekends. Then i got a xbox of my own and world at war came out and i loved that game so much atmosphere then mw2 came out and that was prob my fav it was next level. Enjoyed blackops 1,mw3,blackops2 then i felt the cods went a bit shit i didnt play the new cods much untill BO4 blackout came out and blackout had my totally hooked again , its a shame warzone never had a skill gap and no SBMM like blackout
@bailenloop97 agreed but it kinda died when ghost came out for me. I saw the maps were going down hill after bo2 and just waited for the next treyarch game. I barely played bo3 and 4 (when my friend owned it) then returned in mw19 because of the name. MW3 has been the best multiplayer of the mw19 era. Without good maps and the addition of sbmm I just play cod when I feel like sweating.
I disagree on where you said it started with advance warfare. It honestly started with black ops 3 with the gambling system. Ghost was just simply a bad entry. Extinction was a great idea but they wont bring it back for some reason.
SBMM is broken because how is it that 7/10 times I get an enemy team full of sweats, yet my teammates aren’t sweats. It’d be a different scenario if both teams were relatively equals

I miss lobbies where my opponents were mostly location based. I used to see usernames with my local city and local sports team aliases in their usernames every game. Now there's people in different timezones and countries playing me regularly. No wonder the hit registration is so messed up.

What I hate about the argument for having SBMM in is the “oh you only want to stomp noobs”, why do all of the people who defend SBMM think that you are just gonna play potato’s all the time? No SBMM brings variety and randomness that the current matchmaking doesn’t have
And here in Xdefiant I noticed to play the same dude 2 days in a row (today and yesterday). Connection based games feels good and natural :) sometimes even 60% of people stays in one lobby for few games. This game kinda feels like BO4
I get this a lot in cod being in Australia and in the top bracket of EOMM find matches with with the same people daily and the top players each game stay in the lobbies and don’t get forced to leave, made some good rivalries and friends feels like OG cod
I actually feel like I’ve gotten worse at cod since mw2019 the sbmm just felt night and day between BO4 and the launch of 2019 I instantly felt bad at cod when that game came out and haven’t had much drive to play these series since!
I don’t even know what people were on about with SBMM in bo4. Black ops 4 multiplayer was great and it was never noticeable. I didn’t bother with any of the cod games after ghosts until then so can’t comment strongly on those ones but it seemed fine in bo4 Mw2019 was an absolute mess and has irreversibly ruined the series for me. Warzone was fun for about a month during the pandemic but isn’t as good as blackout. Even Cold War ended up feeling more along the same lines. Mw2 was easily the biggest waste of £50 in my life and though I’ve not bothered with mw3 it looks like more of the same. I’d say every dog has his day but the cod series is doing better than ever so clearly people enjoy it. The people who like to whinge about the game every year like this guy are a very, very small minority.
@ I know! I was constantly dropping high streaks on that game, think I ended the game with a 2.32 kd. I never once felt manipulated by matchmaking on bo4 but these days that feeling is constantly looming

Even mw2019 was good compared to current bullshit. I didn't even know there was sbmm in Mw2019 before this year. They just have made it stronger every year. Now it has peaked so it looks like it doesn't even take your location in to account... Desync, packet burst/loss and lag
The worst part of SBMM/EOMM is trying to play with buddies who are bad. In older cods we could hop on and have a balanced lobby and they could go like 15-21 or whatever. Now if I play with them they get into my lobbies and drop a 0.3 E/D. SBMM has ruined casual cod
I am going to assume you didn't play MWIII then. Because they already tried that and THE DATA showed that people were quitting out of non-SBMM lobbies more than the regular lobbies. COD is chalked, we should all just give up. I already have

I ginded out head shot cammo to diamond in 2 days with all assult rifles . I dont use vpn I just didn't care whether I won or lost a match. You can easily get 5 to 10 head shots per game camping
SBMM is the reason I didn’t get the COD this year. My friends who suck however did get it and they’re apparently having fun. We’re outnumbered guys, it’s time to move onto another game.
If they have SBBM and divide players into brackets I wonder whether they're using this data for training different skill based bots with AI/machine learning so that in the future you might not be playing against people at all.
I also think an issue for an older gamer like myself (been playing since cod 3) is that these kids are so much better at games i feel. Just in my extended family these kids are playing so well and they dont even act like its anything impressive. When i play a couple matches i feel exhausted with how fast and chaotic everything is.
Honestly I don't blame bot lobby players for calling you a hacker, cause yeah it makes sense you'd probably look like that. They can barely use both of their sticks at the same time, probably only hipfire cause aiming makes it harder to see, you prone on the ground in front of them and suddenly it's like you disappeared in thin air.
The server desync is crazy. Not seeing even remotely the same thing as other people in the lobby. Watching kill cams only to see yourself shooting Caspar
Good video. You nailed it on us missing the MIX of players it would match us with. Even if you got shredded in a match, the hope you'd have that'd you'd be the one doing the shredding the next match was always there because there was always a different mix of players game after game. That's what kept it fun and addicting. Both of which are eliminated because of sbmm
When you peel everything away, at its core a game should be fun. I don't find it fun that every match is a literal pro team try out. Others might find that fun and that's ok, but it really isn't for me. That's really why I haven't bought this year's COD offering.
I’m an above average COD player and have only managed to get a killstreak above a UAV ONCE. The thick SBMM where most lives consist of 1 kill and then quickly getting traded almost eliminates killstreaks from the game. The only way I could see myself getting a decent killstreak is in a care package or if I rigged the matchmaking myself which wouldn’t be fun either
I love having one teammate in spawn with me and 3 enemies in our spawn while the rest are on the other side of the nuketown map like what is that spawn broooo
Every single game of mine is so sweaty. I HAVE to slide, dive, horizontally move, jump, 180, etc. I haven't touched CoD since 2019 MW either. Only reason I'm playing Bo6 is because they made it free for me. Just wondering what bracket I'm in. Who predetermined getting this spawn and a grenade is on my spot before I can come back? Why do I have 3 guys jumping, sliding, and diving after me? I legit can't chill and play.

This is the first cod since 2011 that I’m genuinely having trouble playing after hitting prestige 3. I just genuinely have no desire to play it, I deadass was so exhausted after playing for like 2 hours last night I felt like I worked an 8 hour shift at my job.
Skill based matchmaking, skill based damage, skill based packet burst... It's disgusting how in my sweaty SBMM bracket the game is barely playable due to packet burst, but when I 2box surprise surprise little to no packet burst... Insane.
SBMM only belongs in a ranked ladder queue and my mind will never be changed on that fact. The real root of this entire problem is engagement optimized gameplay experiences designed to control your emotions in a way that will subtly shift you towards buying things in the shop. It should be illegal for shop interactions to effect in game matchmaking but it has become the norm across the industry.
not the right time unfortunately, with microsoft essentially giving it for free through their play pass, this year's cod simply won't be able to see bad numbers...although at least they got to see bad numbers in mw2 and specially mw3
The crazy part about this is that once you start 2 boxing, you realise just how many other players are doing it, too. You basically end up in lobbies with 3 active players on each team and 3 bot accounts that get kicked for inactivity. Those accounts are then replaced with players who are of a higher skill level, so you just end up playing in lobbies you were trying to avoid in the first place
Game is completely unenjoyable and unplayable due to the lobbies more so than any call of duty ever released. Mw19-mw2- and mw3 were nothing, not even close to how horrible these lobbies are.
I play hardcore, skill based damage is definitely a thing. First week I was hitting everything with one maybe two bullets if they were far and I was using a smg. 5 days later I prestige my first time and now my xm4 is taking 2-3 bullets at any range😂 I have no idea why they did what they did, the game just tryna keep us at .5 win ration and 1.0 k/d
All week I was loving the semi auto shotgun, then Friday hits and now the gun barley even hits them standing right in front you, like how does it go from hitting and killing them all week to now doing nothing..... Edit: If you're not holding the trigger/sight button you won't get hit markers, you have to hold the trigger for hit markers to hit, hopes this helps.
@sk1nney Glad I'm not the only one experiencing this, because that's exactly what's happening with me, unload a whole clip and not one hit marker, and this all started Friday.

Long gone are the days of just matchmaking with whoever was online, it really has sucked all of the organic fun out of it, especially for battle royales!
My biggest issue with SBMM is knowing I’m going to finish a game 20-20 or 30-30 before it even starts. In what way is that engaging or fun in any way? And that’s with what I believe to be meta loadouts and forget trying to get headshots all the time with no lives flying through the air and dropping to the ground each time they see somebody
It's crazy how much the newer CODs manipulate you into thinking your bad at the game. When XDefiant came out I was topping the leader board in a majority of games with a good KD. Last experience of that in COD was BO4.
The sbmm in this game makes me feel so happy. Nothing better than trying to get 100 headshots with 3 different snipers on people Superman flying through windows, slide cancelling doing a 360, and throwing 35 flashbangs at you in a 10 sec window. It’s so good.
And now try to imagine how it must be like for m&k players. On top of sbmm and eomm, they have to deal with controller players and their AA, wich is ridiculously overtuned in cod. Ye, picture that 😂
I think I’ve gotten worse (and definitely play SIGNIFICANTLY less multiplayer) since SBMM became a thing. I just don’t feel motivated to do well or play for long any more.

I played football for the first time freshman year of HS at a 6A Texas school. My coach put me on A team… I didn’t get it. I sucked. He later told me “it’s because you put the work in to get better, not because you’re good” by the end of the season I was starting off and def because I got good…hard work is rewarding when there is an AWARD.
You, me or Nero buying the game changes absolutely nothing because the biggest player base are the people not affected negatively by SBMM. The people who are the casuals, who don't go on streaks or drop nukes are the main buyers of cod. The people who jump on with their buddies, play a couple of hours and buy some bundles. That's all it is.
What you just said is BS, nobody is progressing because there's no skill variety in lobbies. I was mediocre at Cod but always wanted to improve learning from better players. If this isn't happening then people will eventually move on, whatever the data says. We are humans not robots
Sbmm was created for the steamers so that they could get into tailored lobbies for easy on stomping. That's why cross platform was even invented. So Activision could pay/bribe streamers to advertise cod by playing on PC and using a "decoy" account on Xbox or PS to get them into lower level lobbies. I'm not even kidding. It was all the talk back in 2018 about how to get more eyes on the game. Then they canme up with that method.
pc players fought for cross platform bc the whole reason for cross platform was so you could play with your friends who were on diff consoles i literally remember the console community begging to have cross platform so they could play with their friends that are on ps or pc

Thank you so much Nero for not giving up on making these SBMM videos. It is the single most important topic about call of duty no matter how many other things there are to discuss. Regardless of what Activision says about their data, true cod fans who have been playing the game since the beginning know how terrible the matchmaking algorithm is and it’s completely RUINING the game for us. I have been playing cod multiplayer since cod 4 and this game franchise has transformed into nothing but a massive tease in the gaming community. Imagine having a game with amazing graphics, amazing gun play, and all the bells and whistles that come with a AAA development team yet the online experience is completely tarnished due to every game being rigged by their matchmaking system.. It’s genuinely sad to see my all-time favorite online multiplayer experience is never going to be the same again.
It is absolutely ridiculous that you can pay 15$ a month to basically "remove your SBMM". Putting it like that sounds insane, but that is the reality now.
Not as good as the classics, but still the best we’ve gotten since bo4. I have two kids under 1 so I have barely any time to play anymore. Kind of just accepted I’m no longer in my prime and the game became a lot more enjoyable

i have 2-3 friends that play that refuse to play with me because of my lobbies. Leaving my only option to solo queue. My experience is dreadful.
Solo play is highly discouraged by a bunch of things this game/the dev has done.

Bro I have around a 1.4 KD in BO6 and I literally get 100 ms ping and CHINESE players in my NA East lobbies with a fiber connection. Had to stop playing after the first week. I refuse to play a game that is systematically rigged against me.

sbmm has ruined yet another cod for me. I work a full time 9-5 like many other people here but I manage to still be decent at the game (I used to no life cod as a kid) currently holding a 2.0 k/d and my lobbies are literally unbearable. I'm getting matched with only people who play non stop and have everything unlocked while I'm using guns with almost no attachments trying to compete lol I literally got merged with #3 in the world (nukesquad) when all I want to do is chill and enjoy the game without being a tryhard every match. I cant even play with irl friends because of how bad its gotten... i'm forced to play zombies because that's the only way we can all play cod together.

i started playing cod at my brothers house it was cod 4 and it was so cool back then I had a lot of fun playing at the weekends. Then i got a xbox of my own and world at war came out and i loved that game so much atmosphere then mw2 came out and that was prob my fav it was next level. Enjoyed blackops 1,mw3,blackops2 then i felt the cods went a bit shit i didnt play the new cods much untill BO4 blackout came out and blackout had my totally hooked again , its a shame warzone never had a skill gap and no SBMM like blackout

I barely played bo3 and 4 (when my friend owned it) then returned in mw19 because of the name. MW3 has been the best multiplayer of the mw19 era. Without good maps and the addition of sbmm I just play cod when I feel like sweating.
I disagree on where you said it started with advance warfare. It honestly started with black ops 3 with the gambling system. Ghost was just simply a bad entry. Extinction was a great idea but they wont bring it back for some reason.
SBMM is broken because how is it that 7/10 times I get an enemy team full of sweats, yet my teammates aren’t sweats. It’d be a different scenario if both teams were relatively equals

I miss lobbies where my opponents were mostly location based. I used to see usernames with my local city and local sports team aliases in their usernames every game.
Now there's people in different timezones and countries playing me regularly. No wonder the hit registration is so messed up.

What I hate about the argument for having SBMM in is the “oh you only want to stomp noobs”, why do all of the people who defend SBMM think that you are just gonna play potato’s all the time? No SBMM brings variety and randomness that the current matchmaking doesn’t have
And here in Xdefiant I noticed to play the same dude 2 days in a row (today and yesterday). Connection based games feels good and natural :) sometimes even 60% of people stays in one lobby for few games. This game kinda feels like BO4
I get this a lot in cod being in Australia and in the top bracket of EOMM find matches with with the same people daily and the top players each game stay in the lobbies and don’t get forced to leave, made some good rivalries and friends feels like OG cod
Xdefiant is so fun. some games i play average and bad players, and some games im getting absolutely destroyed. in BO6, its a ranked game every game
I actually feel like I’ve gotten worse at cod since mw2019 the sbmm just felt night and day between BO4 and the launch of 2019 I instantly felt bad at cod when that game came out and haven’t had much drive to play these series since!

Black ops 4 multiplayer was great and it was never noticeable.

Mw2019 was an absolute mess and has irreversibly ruined the series for me.
Warzone was fun for about a month during the pandemic but isn’t as good as blackout.
Even Cold War ended up feeling more along the same lines.
Mw2 was easily the biggest waste of £50 in my life and though I’ve not bothered with mw3 it looks like more of the same.
I’d say every dog has his day but the cod series is doing better than ever so clearly people enjoy it. The people who like to whinge about the game every year like this guy are a very, very small minority.

The worst part of SBMM/EOMM is trying to play with buddies who are bad. In older cods we could hop on and have a balanced lobby and they could go like 15-21 or whatever. Now if I play with them they get into my lobbies and drop a 0.3 E/D. SBMM has ruined casual cod

I ginded out head shot cammo to diamond in 2 days with all assult rifles . I dont use vpn I just didn't care whether I won or lost a match. You can easily get 5 to 10 head shots per game camping
SBMM is the reason I didn’t get the COD this year. My friends who suck however did get it and they’re apparently having fun. We’re outnumbered guys, it’s time to move onto another game.
If they have SBBM and divide players into brackets I wonder whether they're using this data for training different skill based bots with AI/machine learning so that in the future you might not be playing against people at all.
I also think an issue for an older gamer like myself (been playing since cod 3) is that these kids are so much better at games i feel. Just in my extended family these kids are playing so well and they dont even act like its anything impressive. When i play a couple matches i feel exhausted with how fast and chaotic everything is.
Honestly I don't blame bot lobby players for calling you a hacker, cause yeah it makes sense you'd probably look like that. They can barely use both of their sticks at the same time, probably only hipfire cause aiming makes it harder to see, you prone on the ground in front of them and suddenly it's like you disappeared in thin air.

Good video. You nailed it on us missing the MIX of players it would match us with. Even if you got shredded in a match, the hope you'd have that'd you'd be the one doing the shredding the next match was always there because there was always a different mix of players game after game. That's what kept it fun and addicting. Both of which are eliminated because of sbmm
When you peel everything away, at its core a game should be fun. I don't find it fun that every match is a literal pro team try out. Others might find that fun and that's ok, but it really isn't for me. That's really why I haven't bought this year's COD offering.

My buddy and I have been playing modern warfare remastered and it’s a breath of fresh air.
I’m an above average COD player and have only managed to get a killstreak above a UAV ONCE. The thick SBMM where most lives consist of 1 kill and then quickly getting traded almost eliminates killstreaks from the game. The only way I could see myself getting a decent killstreak is in a care package or if I rigged the matchmaking myself which wouldn’t be fun either
I love having one teammate in spawn with me and 3 enemies in our spawn while the rest are on the other side of the nuketown map like what is that spawn broooo

Every single game of mine is so sweaty. I HAVE to slide, dive, horizontally move, jump, 180, etc. I haven't touched CoD since 2019 MW either. Why do I have 3 guys jumping, sliding, and diving after me? I legit can't chill and play.

Random packet bursts are part of EOMM, just like Skill-Based Damaged and Aim Resist.

SBMM only belongs in a ranked ladder queue and my mind will never be changed on that fact. The real root of this entire problem is engagement optimized gameplay experiences designed to control your emotions in a way that will subtly shift you towards buying things in the shop. It should be illegal for shop interactions to effect in game matchmaking but it has become the norm across the industry.
Simple solution - stop playing CoD and expecting it to get better. Until people start to leave it in massive numbers nothing will change.

The crazy part about this is that once you start 2 boxing, you realise just how many other players are doing it, too. You basically end up in lobbies with 3 active players on each team and 3 bot accounts that get kicked for inactivity. Those accounts are then replaced with players who are of a higher skill level, so you just end up playing in lobbies you were trying to avoid in the first place

Game is completely unenjoyable and unplayable due to the lobbies more so than any call of duty ever released. Mw19-mw2- and mw3 were nothing, not even close to how horrible these lobbies are.
I play hardcore, skill based damage is definitely a thing. First week I was hitting everything with one maybe two bullets if they were far and I was using a smg. 5 days later I prestige my first time and now my xm4 is taking 2-3 bullets at any range😂 I have no idea why they did what they did, the game just tryna keep us at .5 win ration and 1.0 k/d

Edit: If you're not holding the trigger/sight button you won't get hit markers, you have to hold the trigger for hit markers to hit, hopes this helps.
Experienced the same thing this morning. Unloaded a full clip at point blank and no hit marker.

My biggest issue with SBMM is knowing I’m going to finish a game 20-20 or 30-30 before it even starts. In what way is that engaging or fun in any way? And that’s with what I believe to be meta loadouts and forget trying to get headshots all the time with no lives flying through the air and dropping to the ground each time they see somebody

The sbmm in this game makes me feel so happy. Nothing better than trying to get 100 headshots with 3 different snipers on people Superman flying through windows, slide cancelling doing a 360, and throwing 35 flashbangs at you in a 10 sec window. It’s so good.
And now try to imagine how it must be like for m&k players. On top of sbmm and eomm, they have to deal with controller players and their AA, wich is ridiculously overtuned in cod. Ye, picture that 😂
I think I’ve gotten worse (and definitely play SIGNIFICANTLY less multiplayer) since SBMM became a thing. I just don’t feel motivated to do well or play for long any more.

I played football for the first time freshman year of HS at a 6A Texas school. My coach put me on A team… I didn’t get it. I sucked. He later told me “it’s because you put the work in to get better, not because you’re good” by the end of the season I was starting off and def because I got good…hard work is rewarding when there is an AWARD.

The people who are the casuals, who don't go on streaks or drop nukes are the main buyers of cod. The people who jump on with their buddies, play a couple of hours and buy some bundles. Sbmm was created for the steamers so that they could get into tailored lobbies for easy on stomping. That's why cross platform was even invented. So Activision could pay/bribe streamers to advertise cod by playing on PC and using a "decoy" account on Xbox or PS to get them into lower level lobbies. I'm not even kidding. It was all the talk back in 2018 about how to get more eyes on the game. Then they canme up with that method.
pc players fought for cross platform bc the whole reason for cross platform was so you could play with your friends who were on diff consoles i literally remember the console community begging to have cross platform so they could play with their friends that are on ps or pc

Regardless of what Activision says about their data, true cod fans who have been playing the game since the beginning know how terrible the matchmaking algorithm is and it’s completely RUINING the game for us.
I have been playing cod multiplayer since cod 4 and this game franchise has transformed into nothing but a massive tease in the gaming community. Imagine having a game with amazing graphics, amazing gun play, and all the bells and whistles that come with a AAA development team yet the online experience is completely tarnished due to every game being rigged by their matchmaking system..
It’s genuinely sad to see my all-time favorite online multiplayer experience is never going to be the same again.

Not as good as the classics, but still the best we’ve gotten since bo4. I have two kids under 1 so I have barely any time to play anymore. Kind of just accepted I’m no longer in my prime and the game became a lot more enjoyable
