In this video, I finished my CNC plasma table build with the wiring, setting up the floating head (I don't have the torch height control - aka THC) and torch relay (make the plasma cutter CNC compatible without modifying the torch or the plasma cutter itself). I also added a spring setup to create a pressure for the floating head without adding too much more weight to the Z axis and redesign the torch holder.
The wiring was easy, the configurations with Mach3 and SheetCam were a breeze. All the functions worked correctly.
Since I don't have any experience with this type of equipment yet, the first cuts were kinda ugly. I will need to spend more time to figure out all the parameters needed for some clean cutting in the future.

(FR) J'ai fait pas mal de recherches avant de commencer ce projet avec le plasma cutter. J'ai vu aussi bcp de machine qui utilise la tete droite et ca aussi facilite le design. Une fois finir les ajustements, c'est vraiment utile d'avoir une table plasma CNC. Je pourrais construire d'autres machines avec des pieces metalliques.
Sur un autre sujet, j'espere que tout va bien chez toi avec le Covid-19. Chez nous, on doit rester a la maison toute la journee. On sort seulement quand c'est vraiment necessaire. Mes enfants ne vont pas a l'ecole pour aumoins les deux prochaine semaines.

(FR) Oui, s'agissant du covid19, on est dans la partie la plus touchée de france. Comme nous tenons à notre vie et que chacun reste vivant et en bonne santé que possible, on se plie aux recommandations du gouvernement. Ça fait 5 jours qu'on est confinés à la maison. Mais ;) personnellement je n'ai pas le temps de m'ennuyer entre fusion360 et mes projets 3Dprinting et autres, j'ai de quoi m'occuper comme toujours ;) J'ai pitié des gens qui s'ennuient. Merci pour tes voeux de santé et je te les retourne aussi pour tes bien-aimés. Quelques jours bloqués chez soi, ce n'est pas la fin du monde mon ami.
Pour revenir à cette machine à plasma, j'imagine que tu nous feras bientôt une démo sur de l'acier... l'énérgie visible sur l'alu peut faire espérer une efficacité pour l'acier. Et quand ça marchera, tu n'auras plus à attendre la livraison de Chine pour certaines pièces usinables chez toi. Pretty cool. 1-Anh Minh muốn cắt đẹp thì nên thiết lập trong sheetcam có phần điểm mồi đánh lửa, nó sẽ đánh lửa đột lỗ ở ngoài sau đó mới lượn vòng vào phần mình cắt. Em thấy phần thiết lập của anh chưa có "điểm đột lỗ mồi" 2- Em cảm giác anh để khí hơi bé nên khí không thổi bay hết ra ngoài, dẫn đến đường cắt bị ba vớ. Khi cắt plasma anh để khí tầm 5kg là ổn.
Cảm ơn bạn, đây là lần thử đầu tiên nên mình cũng chưa có kính nghiệm. Mình cũng có để cắt lỗ ở ngoài và đi vòng vào nhưng khoảng vòng ngắn, nhìn không rõ. Sau lần thử đấy máy nén khí đang bị hỏng nên và đang chờ thiết bị thay nên cũng chưa thử lại được. Về phần plasma thì mình mới bắt đầu nên còn phải tìm hiểu và thử nhiều lần.

Dear dont try to use THC on these card, usb cards dont suport thc, and chinese cards dont suport thc and real time operations, thc is realtime operation, exelent video!! you have a new sub!!

lovely work! i am also following your steps, and also purchased this plasma torch to upgrade the one i had. My previous torch cable didn't have a power cable, i suspect that its wired to the air pipe since it must have had a way to pass the power somehow. Do you think that makes any sense? as such i should wire the power cable of the new torch head to the coper connecting the air. if you have any insights would gladly apriciate them thanks in advance
hello friend, I have had problems generating the g code, this error is driving me crazy, when exporting only a few lines of code come out and when simulating from SheetCam the following error appears "attention: warning: feed rate is zero post processed completed with 1 alerts ". I'd appreciate your help.

In sheetcam, when you setup the torch in sheetcam, there's option for torch height.

Hello friend, the problem was the material to be cut, that is galvanized, put some sheet metal in there and you will be fine. any mild steel will be fine.

@@minhsmancave9448 if you are able to buy a THC later on, I bought the Vietnamese robot3t THC3T-02 haven't installed yet, but already arrived, let's see how it works.
Got that THC, installed and made a video about it. It seemed to work fine with kinda thick sheet metal around 1.5mm or up. I wasn't very successful with the thin sheet metal like 0.5mm or 0.8mm. So I made my own mechanical THC. It is just a shield that I can adjust the torch height. The shield just glide on the sheet metal and keep the torch at a constant distance from the sheet.

Yes, I do. It's hard to deal with interference. I don't have a real solution to deal with it completely till now. The best way is not to use HF pilot arc plasma cutter. You can use Blowback pilot arc plasma cutter or even a non pilot arc plasma cutter. If you really want to keep your HF pilot arc plasma cutter, you can use an Ethernet Mach3 Controller to avoid interference. But make sure that you avoid all the Chinese controllers, they don't work well for plasma cutting table.
@@minhsmancave9448 I have same issue with interference, I have grounded all the stepper motors and every wire is shielded yet when I start to use it in the first 2 minutes everything looks fine but from three minutes upwards the motors start missing its steps and my computer motor starts to blink when the torch it on
Hello, is the sheecam program that determines whether the plasma works and stops through the g code or the mach3 program?
Mach3 will receive a signal arc OK from the THC if you have one to know that the plasma works. SheetCam only generate the path

Hi Minh Do you have any schematic diagram to connect the cut50P switch to mach3 5 axis bob?Thanks
I don't have a diagram for a specific bob. You just chose any output, and set spindle relay on that output. The trigger on the cut50p has 2 wires, connect that to wires to the relay NO pin and common pin. The output of the bob will control the relay to open and close the trigger.
Please do you use touch probe because you don't want to use thc .
You should use both if you can. I didn't have a THC then, only floating Z axis (touch probe). Ideally, touch probe + THC

Yes, better go with other cards if you have choices
What stavolt on PC and BOB Powersupply and grounding can help that problem ?

It's also work in inch if your machine is set to inch. Just enter the number in inch instead of mm.
You can set up sheetcam for inch or mm and you set up mach3 for inch or mm each separately
How to check if relay is working are not ,, I need to check relay so I need help ,how to connect light and check if relay working are not
If you want to check the relay with a LED light or any type of light:
- Make sure the light work by wiring it to a power source (LED light to 3.3V)
- Once the light is working correctly, cut one wire and put it one end to a COM pin, the other to NO pin (normally open)
- Make sure the relay is powered properly (10V DC)
- Now, if you turn on the relay by putting a input signal (5V) to the control pin, the light should turn on, and 0V, the light should turn off.

Hi. Min, I have followed your instruction, but I get a problem. Microswitch sends trigger to controller but Z wont stop to go down.....
Try to change the motor dir and step to active low in Mach3, configs, ports and pins, motor outputs.
@@minhsmancave9448 Sorry Minh, TrialAndError is my another account. Finally I have found the answer, ha ha ha ....That is ....Microswitch and Emergency Button have the same port number. System works normally after I fixed the problem. Thanks Minh

Minh, I have new problem. My THC3T-02 has jerking behavior. I have tried to config Z Motor tuning, Voltage (120v), Sensitivity (50-800), Delay (1-10)and steadeystate Voltage (3v). But still can not solve the problem. Can you help me?
@@tohx11 this mostly due to the Z axis speed and the sensitivity. If it's jerking, that means the sensitivity is too high for the actually speed. Or you reduce the Z axis speed (mostly acceleration because it is a small movement) or you decrease the sensitivity. Try to tune these 2 parameters until you get a smooth movement of the Z axis when cutting. When you cut at slower feed rate and less warped sheet, you might need to reduce the sensitivity even more.
hello this little relay I can use it on a 70a cutter
The relay is only used to close a 12V circuit. It doesn't matter what amperage of your plasma cutter can cut.

Can you make the Plasma_CNC.xml file available with the Mach3 settings? has how to create gcode with these settings in artcam 2008? the configuration of the mach3 plasma with ... is it already in the SheetCam?
I surely can share the plasma profile file if you have the same board. I've never used ArtCam before so I'm not sure. But sheetcam is very straight forward to use with this machine. Just let me know if you have the same RnRmotion control board because each board is configured differently.

Did you check if the limit switch is working? Enable probe in Mach3 at the pin you connected it to. Go to diagnostic window and see if the digitize LED lights up when you make the limit switch click. If it doesn't you have to check your limit switch setup again. If it does light up, the probe command should work.
