  • In this vlog I try to answer the age-old question "Are ape hangers good" or "Are ape hangers comfortable". Thanks again to Sunshine Coast Harley-Davidson for supplying a bike to me. This fully sick custom Harley Davidson street bob was a lot of fun. In this vlog I also go out to the town of Eudlo and give it a little review. (Eudlo general store).
    Thanks so much for watching! if you enjoyed the video please like, subscribe and leave a comment. It would mean the world to me. cheers

    16” Burleigh bars on my fatbob, absolutely love them ….

    I’ve had sportsbikes for over 20 years and now have two Harley’s both with apes. I got too sore on the CBR because of a crook shoulder and neck. It’s definitely a personal preference thing but what I’ve learnt for myself is there’s a lot to be said about counter steering when you have your bars set up for your body. Done right, a set of apes in front of your shoulders and slightly relaxed arms promotes steering input and that input comes directly from your shoulders in a relative direct line. That’s why the steering at low speed feels lighter.
    Once used to it I don’t think I could ever go back to low bars. And I’m definitely not a cruising around kind of guy. Corners are my thing. And now I can do that all day and not feel like I’ve been in a fight with Tyson when I get off it

  • @Jim.Thunda
    @Jim.Thunda 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Yes.
    Ape's are good.
    You sit more upright and its less stress on the back.
    In a impact situation your arms will give you better support at a higher level and so improve your survival potential.
    Hand position should be at sholder height.
    Vibrations through motorcycle handle bars and jack hammer operations cause Raynards syndrome later in life.

    I'm 5'10", and have drag bars on my 01 Softail Deuce. I'm switching to 14" apes. After about 2 hrs with drag bars, my shoulders and neck start to get tight, and the ride begins to get uncomfortable. I love the look of my drag bars, but, from a comfort standpoint, apes and new Corbin seat are gonna be the way to go, for me. I'm not a fan of the super thick bars, though. But that's the beauty of Harley's, every bike can be customized for every rider! All our opinions will differ, and that's OK! And someone else's opinion, there can be some useful insight, especially when deciding what you want to do or change. Ultimately, in the end. Do what you want, and who gives a s*#t what someone else thinks! Love the video, and the sandwich (we call that a Reuben, here in the States, is my fave sandwich). Stay safe, and looking forward to your next video!

This is my first Harley Davidson though, so I guess if I got one with the ape bars on it... that might be ok. However, like you all my other motorbikes have been sport bikes. I presently have my Breakout, a 2011 ZX14 Ninja, and a 1986 FJ1200. I really like the Ducati V4's, but got the Breakout instead. I very much enjoy all your videos... no matter what you're reviewing! "eww"delo bro 🤭 (grew up in Mooloolah) Put 14" apes on my yamahardly made it way more fun to ride, was a bit of a spin out at first how fun they were. It had beach bar type bars on it originally, defiantly wasn't a fan of those. I like how you can just rest your arms on the apes on long runs. It did take a couple of twisties rides to use the nads full potential. dry road good tyres you can still get a decent lean going. haven't riden a cruiser with drag bars but i recon id like them. Do you know if Brandenburg Rd is Bitumen these days? looking to head up the coast for a ride soon used to take the cars up Brandenburg than down to landsborough and back over Tunnel Ridge back thru town. good times✌

    I dont like the look of apes at all (and yet I own 3 bikes with them..LOLZ)...especially on non-bagger bikes....on my baggers I like the look of apes as long as they arent obnoxiously tall...I run 12's on both baggers of mine. On my Breakout I have 14's, I would love to go back to straight bars. IN the corners, they allow for WAY BETTER counter steering so they handle WAY BETTER. But the looks, the wind noise, they are crap on a non bagger (on baggers you have a windshield so wind noise is eliminated)...but how the bike rides with them they are WAY better than stock....so its a choice LOOKS or PERFORMANCE....drag bars look 100 times better on my Breakout to me, but once you have apes you will question going back to straight just because they feel and perform way better...for a bar hopper straight bars are the way to go. If you get a bagger, you will ABSOLUTELY get apes...guaranteed...either apes or T-bars on the baggers is 100% better than the stock bars that feel like they are in your lap and you are pushing a wheel barrel
