  • NEW DELHI: The recent flurry of interactions between Pakistan and Washington does not mean Islamabad will become a frontline ally of the US again, says Sushant Sareen, Senior Fellow at the Observer Research Foundation, as he parses the situation in the troubled nation which shows no signs of having learnt from its earlier mistakes.

    India should put MINES as we are not part of the mine treaty. I agree with Sushant that we need to game it. In fact game it to see how that crisis can be used to capture the Akhanda Bharat territory. Train Punjabis in urdu and covertly send them to Pakistan during this crisis. But for that preparation needs to start way ahead so thousands of Indians are trained to execute this.

    I think that Mr. SArin has deliberately omitted the point that the flag expenditure by Pakistan is a sign of how low has Pak fallen. They need basic symbols like their flag to keep their public together and their country united. Things have moved beyond just economics to survival of the Pak state.

    US ‘Re-Engages’ Afghan Taliban.
    USA & Taliban talked in Doha last week regarding humanitarian support for Afghanistan, security issues, women’s rights, economic stabilization, and efforts to counter narcotics production and trafficking. However they had a hidden agenda too. USA wanted Taliban support to fight Daesh and same time wanted to limit China's expansion into Afghanistan.
    Pakistan was curious if it can squeeze in support to USA (offcourse in exchange for billions of dollars) but US officials rejected it.

      I also got info from Pak Journalists that TTP & ISIS are teaming together to expand in KPK khyber pakhtunkhwa. So Pakistanis are a worried lot. The recent bomb blast in KPK was done by ISIS.

    US$3 bn from the IMF is an incredibly small amount to take care of Pakistan's needs. That sum, can't even overcome a fraction of its accumulated liabilities.
    Meanwhile, the ruling class expects some rich country will pay off their bills while they siphon the exchequer!

    Because Pakistan implodes, there could be emergency rule in Bharat. That could be a direct reason. It's not too difficult to predict or infer as to how it would happen. But it better not be spelt out.

    Why does Sushant Sareen believe that India's policy makers are in denial about a potential refugee influx from Pakistan? Because any policy aimed at addressing a potential refugee influx is not in public domain? Or because the policy makers have not indicated anything to him in private conversations? On the latter, is it possible that Sushant Sareen does not enjoy the confidence of India's policy makers?
    In any case, before a refugee influx from Pakistan commences, one should expect anarchy within Pakistan to reach such a crescendo; as to force every nation (incl China and US) to virtually cease diplomatic presence. Something, that has not come to pass yet. If and when it does; without the admonishing presence of Western powers in India's neighbourhood; I imagine, the government of the day will have far greater latitude with the severity that can be applied at dealing with the issue. So far, only those capable of mustering resources inside Pakistan have sought to migrate as refugees; and that is exclusively in the direction of Europe.
    The one threat India does face; is that of surreptitious migration through Nepal or Bangladesh. But such migration, by nature, cannot take the form of a wave.

      I think if things go wrong in Pak Before India Pakistan's Punjab will see Refuge crisis from its Western provinces and Pak Punjabis will probably push them back or divert to sindh .KPK and Balochistan have always been buffers for Punjabistan aka Pakistan.

    • @vchitnis
      @vchitnis 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@mk-cb7vc Very good point! The power and riches are concentrated in Pakistan Punjab and therefore, should present itself as a lucrative target for Pakistan's impoverished. As long as Pakistan Punjab has an Army; anyone trying to move into India must be dealt with, as a terrorist.
      I'm very skeptical about these ORF guys. It is a US-led West promoted think tank in India; designed to promote Western interests, masquerading as indigenous thought. And the West wants India to solve a problem they originally helped create.
