    I did this in work on the night shift since our work seems to allow people back into the job when having 1-2 weeks off without any reason so I was sick of having to carry the work loads and was fucked over by late finishes in work, the forklift was set to 7.5mph so I took the limit off which allowed 12mph and from then on I had no more late finishes, I told the night manager I had changed the speed and he wasn’t bothered but just told me to reset it every time I finish so the day shift people don’t jump on it and aren’t aware of the speed increase. I’ve kept it silent to the other 5 truck drivers who use the same trucks cause if an accidents happens THEY WILL BLAME YOU!

      It’s a totally different system. It’s a cheap POS option with a junk interference timing belt engine built to a price point to compete with the Toyota 8 Series price. Yale/Hyster screwed their dealerships with the MX/XT line.

    And if password is different
    Do it the old fashioned way by rapidly going back and forth between neutral and drive while letting on and off the gas
    It will gain you an extra mph faster or two

  • @Statimtek

    Word of warning folks, your employer better be OK with you messing around with the settings, especially increasing the speed of the lift. Making changes in the programing can trigger error codes.Those error codes will cause the Forklift to malfunction. If a technician comes out and finds out that the forklift has been tampered with, he will probably report it to management. It could cost you your job. Is it worth it?

    • @kingofthepod5169
      @kingofthepod5169 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I always wondered why manufacturers include settings that are not supposed to be used ever. I understand locking menus behind passwords to keep idiots out, but not including settings that can trigger errors.

    • @Statimtek
      @Statimtek 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kingofthepod5169 You answered your own question. The settings are to be used by trained forklift technicians only. Passwords are used to keep, idiots from changing settings that could cause an accident and/or damage the forklift. Error codes are triggered by people who go in there, don’t know what they are doing, and make changes that the computer does not recognize. The same thing might happen to you if you went into your cars computer without proper knowledge of how to navigate the system and try to change the programming. As a fail safe system the forklift can completely shut down and no longer operate until a technician comes in, checks it, and resets the computer. It is not the settings that triggers errors, it is the idiots who go in there and don’t know how to navigate the system.This can be a serious problem, especially if they increase the speed of the forklift, beyond the speed limit set up by the company, which may cause an accident. Also triggering an error code can cause damage to the lifts control unit, which results in having to replace it. Parts and labor are very expensive and if the company keeps having to pay for the tech to come out to repair or reset, which is happening in my company, management is going to start looking for who is doing this.

      Then the service tech deleted it and put his own service password in. Which is what they're suppose to do. This isn't knowledge that anybody that just anybody should have. Anyway if there is no service mechanic then the only way to figure it out or get in the dash is plugging into the truck with hyster software.
