would be nice to see you guys try a class xerion on this channel, i know its not normally your style but due to the cab being able to spin around that makes it perfect for this and normal tractor work
You can’t make good silage just stoving the whole trailer load up at once! The tractor looks like it’s doing a grand job! The boy driving it just needs a few more years under his belt 👍🏻😀
I reckon you should put a trailer on the L90/434 and see how that works. They are one trick ponies, whereas the Fastrac has a multitude of uses. If it's not flash on a buckrake i could live with that,as it is so good at everything else. I love mine and would only swap it for a Fendt to be honest,if fendt could do 70k in NZ.
You don't need aheavier front linkage set the buckrake up properly tines pointing downwards tip trailers across pit face you can then push 18ton trailer loads up the pit in 3 runs quicker than any loader !
We harvest maize for a digester plant in Cambridge and all they use is 8000 series fastracs with blades on for the clamps also some xerions too, they harvest 20,000 acres of maize, with 4 teams with draws over 50miles from inside the m25 bk to Cambridge, also drawn with fastracs and some wagons!!!
I drove a 8410 with buck rake on the rear with only hand throttle, we had the linkage piped into the 1st hyd bank, way faster. Had 21ft truck every 3 minutes I think was the fastest, I was keeping up with rolling no worries too. Guys on stack have easy with JCB loaders. Why don't you put a buck rake on loaders? Lower centre of gravity. Would love to do it again one day. Love the green grass every where, you having a gd season? Love vids guys. Kiwi Craig.
I’m told a Valtra XM reverse drive is awesome on pit work. Those models pivot in the middle like a loading shovel. Any chance of putting a reverse drive Valtra on a pit?
Great demonstration off the Fastracs ability on the pit .But any contractor that will have one , is going to put her carting. It's the wrong kinda JCB for the pit !!😁
@GRASSMEN have you tried any other loading from front of fastrac since this test? would a quicke front loader on the front instead of default linkage work better?
I wouldn't worry too much Gary the Volvo wasn't exactly setting the world alight either, dumping grass in great lumps instead of spreading it in layers.
always found the balance on the 5000 didn't lend itself as well to the pit work as a 188, back in those days, a 188 with weighted dual wheels was a beast...the torque and balance left it hard to beat
@@DiscoReaper we used to have the star type dualls on the 5000 duncan 1 sliding door cab it was a bitsa tractor the engine went porus so a cross block 6610 engine was fitted out of an x reg 6610 at a tractor breakers the cab on it was one of the most rotten ive ever seen a ford q cab . God knows where it has bn but it was knackered cosmetically . The engine however was a gd pulling unit it had obviously bn breathed on as it would outpull the farms 7610 no problem and we thought it to be a great pulling thing we did eventually fit a duncan super cab on to the 5000 and ran it about ten more years until it went away to export at cheffins it was relaced by a renault ares 100 hp 4 wheel drive it was a used tractor imported from holland with a low profile cab instead of the usual ares cab it had a small tunnel in the middle considering the low profile . I was a great tractor . With the john deere engine in it . Changed days now with no cattle around the area hardly is all arable nowadays its sad to think that back in the day near enough every fsrm in the area had cattle and usually sheep too . Gd stock men being hard to find plus low returns lots of reasons i suppose that farms stopped keeping livestock . . Hope u and family are all well a safe pls take care . Ps ur 188 on the pit woulda bn a great machine for tramping the pit as we all know the wuality of the silage is made on the pit . All the best to you and ur family .
Which do u prefer Garry the buck rake on the front or the back because we asked u at lamma what ur favourite job was and u said buckraking was one of them.but that might be a different story in the fastrac, but a very capable tractor at everything u have done with it 👌🏼
As far said if it had 5 ton front linkage and a hydraulic top link would be better. Would be ok for a smaller clamp and loads not coming in so quick but let's face it she's not designed with clamp work in mind although I think it would work better with maize clamping just because of the way maize doesn't clump together like grass. Great tractor for everything else. Are you in contact with the new owner for the future? Good luck to you all
Is that what you use yours for. I run triple mowers, kuhn big baler and general hauling with mine. My main job is mowing and last year cut about 4000 ha in a 100k radius from home.
Fair play your keeping us all going in these strange times .keep up the great work 🙂🙂🙂
40 years ago used to buckrake with a MF135, at the end of the day clutch leg was dead. :)

Never seen a fasttrack buck rake before! Awesome vid
Maybe there was a reason why...

Right, needs weight on rear linkage,200 plus hp,can’t see any issues except need to keep rads clear
@@MrDonalmac 👍🏻
Now at least the jcb can work in field and on the pit
I'd like to see the volvo carting

I'm impressed with how it faired with the buckrake for the road haulage king of tractors
I can't see the Volvo shovel being much cop on fieldwork either.
Could take a few bales for a spin on a trailer
Amazing work
Been waiting all day for this video😂

Get the clamp king in the background to work! JCB tm all the way! Fast trac done well!!
Quite impressive, be good to put it up against a JD 6215R on the clamp. Good video to see as it's a 1st for me!!

I think with Duels then a Valtra would keep up with some loading shovels!
I think that the JCB is a grate tractor. Im sad to see her go.
What's the benefit of clamp silage over bale wrapping?
Cheaper and faster and easier
Real quistion is whats going on in the 3rd pit??😂
Moisty looking silage
That’s what you get using a shite shovel to clamp grass 😂👍🏻😁
keep it going g lads
Donkeys way too exited 00:00
The front mudgards 🙈🙈🙈
Proven once and for all a loader is the best on the pit
Great demonstration off the Fastracs ability on the pit .But any contractor that will have one , is going to put her carting. It's the wrong kinda JCB for the pit !!😁
Get a 457 agri spec jcb against that Volvo.....forget the fastrac......that would be something to see......
Still doesn’t get him off the fastrac though does it 😂😂

Finnally the big yellow on the pit . Beats buckraking we a fordy 5000 we a dodgy clutch and nee brakes lol . Hahaha .

I recon a front end loader on it with a set of all-round duels would do it better than a pushoff buckrake
Great Vid but Fastrak don't belong on the pit. No offence I just love the pulling power.
I guess that you just have to experiment with these tractors 🚜/loading shovels to find out which one is more suited for this kind of work ?????.

Well atleast the grass comes in...
It works well on front you need a years practice lol 😆
Thats a weird way to make a silage hump 😂
Equipment tour
So the next test, JCB Fastrac vs Volvo L90 loading shovel on the slurry. My money is on the Fastrac!
Poor gary😂😂
Great video but in the future some time can you get a fendt do some reviews on it like a 724.
Too busy see first clipping with this for rest
Hello
Put gary in old 135 buckraging he won't be comaning about the fastrack then
I would love to work foru
No she do not like that job at all. Lol. From the looks of it it looks like it's all around good tractor except for one thing pushing silage..

Don't think anyone going to buy a fast track for buckrake anyway.
The JCB fastrac is really only good for hauling trailers, tankers etc.
Is that what you use yours for.

About fourth ish lol no one cares
