That LNW 55 and MVPX 4601 are in the shop right now at motive power where I work, kinda cool to see when they were getting them delivered to MVPX

This area use to be much more busy when we had the Erie Lackawanna and Chesapeake and Ohio Railroads running through here. Also be there was the Penn Central Line to Joliet that ran through here until April 1st 1976. Erie Lackawanna also was terminated on the date mentioned here. Chesapeake & Ohio trains got rerouted to the former B&O Railroad up through Hammond IN after May 1976.

That first train had an interesting rhythm over the tracks.

I love how your shot pans just enough until 0:37 where the EJ&E logo is visible. That kind of thing really informs potential future filming trips

Another great video, but why don't the CN drivers sound their horns when approaching a road crossing like the BNSF drivers normally do?

It's a quiet zone though they can use their horn if they need to especially since drivers in Griffith frequently go around the gates

Ian Sutton: The CN Engineers definitely need to sound their horns repeatedly especially at crossings like this one in addition to their swinging bell. Often times there could be more than one train approaching the crossing.

@@topgearrocks88 : It shouldn't be a quiet zone considering the layout and dangers of this crossing. At least the engineers should sound their bells as the go across the street.
