- At the first episode of my kite trip in Ceará, Brazil. Alex Neto and I will show you how is kiteboarding in Cumbuco and Lagoa do Cauípe, one of the most popular places for kiting in the world.

CUMBUCO:
One of the most known places for kiteboard in the world. The whole city revolves around the kiteboarding scene. With all the kind of options of hotels, you can kite right in front from where you are staying. The city also have one of the best gastronomy of the whole state of Ceará.
LAGOA DO CAUÍPE:
The best place on earth to improve your kiteboard freestyle level. This place is where all the best professional kiters go to train.
With flat and fresh water this lagoon is perfect if you wanna learn a new trick, everything seems easier there.
It can get very crowded, so the best time to kite without many people around is in the morning or during sunset, which is my favorite time to kite.
DOWNWINDER CUMBUCO - LAGOA DO CAUÍPE:
This downwinder is very famous. Since the most of the people stay in Cumbuco and Lagoa do Cauípe is just few miles downwind of it, you can go easily kiting from Cumbuco to Cauípe.
A lot of the people also enjoy this downwinder to have some fun on the waves kitesurfing.

CUMBUCO:
Um dos locais mais conhecidos para o kitesurf do mundo. A cidade inteira gira em torno da cena do kitesurf. Com todos os tipos de opções de hotéis, você pode velejar bem na frente de onde está hospedado. A cidade também possui uma das melhores gastronomias de todo o estado do Ceará.
LAGOA DO CAUÍPE:
O melhor lugar do mundo para evoluir o seu nível de freestyle. Este lugar é onde todos os melhores kitesurfistas profissionais vão treinar.
Com água lisa e doce essa lagoa é perfeita se você quer aprender uma manobra nova, tudo parece mais fácil nesse lugar.
A lagoa pode ficar muito cheio, então a melhor hora para velejar sem gente é pela manhã ou durante o pôr do sol, que é minha hora favorita para o kite.
DOWNWIND CUMBUCO - LAGOA DO CAUÍPE:
Este downwind é muito famoso. Como a maioria das pessoas ficam em Cumbuco e a Lagoa do Cauípe fica a apenas alguns quilômetros a downwind, você pode ir de Cumbuco para o Cauípe com facilidade.
Muitas pessoas também aproveitam este downwind para se divertir nas ondas de kitewave.

Cumbuco is about 27 km from Fortaleza and is paradisiacally beautiful. You can get there directly from Fortaleza Airport with a shuttle. Cumbuco has a beautiful beach and even various freshwater lakes (lagos) that are also used for swimming and kiting, as well as beautiful dunes. Years ago, Cumbuco developed into the center of kite surfing. For Germans, Austrians, Swiss / German-speaking, Europeans and English speakers, the accommodation Kitedream Cumbuco is recommended, which is run by Germans, who can then help you if you have any questions.

I think this is not normal, usually it ends in january. Buuut, lets just hope the wind keeps coming and kite as much as we can!!!

Yes this is year is crazy! I know it’s still wind everyday, but this is not what happens normally. Normally in December you already can have many no wind days and January already raining! So enjoy your extra wind days! ;)

I really don’t suggest you going to the northeast of Brazil during this time. The rain season is starting and you can have many days straight with no wind at all!

Hahaha ótima pergunta! Eu não tenho nenhuma preferida, mas geralmente boto zinco no rosto, porque fica por muito tempo. E no corpo coloco fator 50 kids hahaha eles demoram mais a sair na água!

Nice vid Reno! I’ve got a small question. How much do you recommend boots for freestyle? Im currently riding the 2021 Jaime and was wondering if I need to buy boots to progress my freestyle. I have the basics down (raley to blind, front/backroll and S-bend). Do you recommend getting boots and putting them on the Jaime?
Hello!
No, with boots it only helps you to improve in a really high level I would say.
For sure you can try, but it’s not the boots or straps that will make land your tricks, it’s more how you do your tricks and techniques!
Crashes on boots are heavy! So in my opinion no worth it if not in a high level!

Hi Reno! I am planning to go to Cumbuco this September/October 2022. Is it possible to foil/learn to foil in these two months? I plan to bring my 2021 Dice 9 m. I know it will be good for twintip but i am not quite sure if it will be for foiling. Thanks.

Só tem um probleminha com os kites surfistas,eles não respeitam os pescadores de beira de Praia, nós pescadores ficamos na tensão de ter acidente com osnl anzóis,os kites vem bem perto das linhas ..muitos estão bem longe mas quando eles vêem os pescadores fazem questão de se aproximar.. não sei pq .. principalmente no Cumbuco..um dia o anzol vai entrar em uma aveia mortal e vai causar uma morte...vcs do Cumbuco tenham cuidado quando as pessoas estiverem pescando, muitos jogam o anzol 100 m da Beira da praia por mar... não se aproximem ,pode causar um acidente,já aconteceu com vários amigos meus..
