Although this would have a giant advantage over Most Wanted 2005 because it's newer and has better physics and graphics, there's a certain vibe or style that MW05 had and I really doubt they've replicated that. MW05 had car customization too, so yeah... It could've been a great Most Wanted Reboot and a brilliant NFS game, but to go as far as saying it would've been much better than MW05...yeah, no.

So sad Criterion didn't have enough time to make a complete MW2 project. But I hate EA and fans who blamed Criterion for the Burnout MW2012 we got in the end. EA rush order caused both this project and Burnout are gone.But at least Criterion still show enough talent in the final product.
i think its a fault that can't exactly be pinned on anybody. criterion knew the time constraints (there is a myth that the game was going to release in 2013 which is created from the fact the game is named nfs2013 but all nfs games had the year after they released in their name) and ea couldn't really let them take forever to make a game.

So Criterion was blamed hard for the fake MW game and the rush also caused Criterion fell apart with core devs left studio for indie games. It's a shame that this was cancelled, I feel this is a similar situation to nfs carbon. Maybe if they remaster or remake carbon with the complete story it'll be a longer and more enjoyable experience. But we can only dream.

This have could the plot could have been "The year is 2012, Paul(I'll call him that for now) has been on the run since 2006 during an incident in Palmont city where he was forced to feel the city once again and later telling Nikki that he's a wanted fugitive. It's hard for him to keep up this up trying to avoid contact with the police since every police department(Tri-City Bay, Fairhaven, etc.) has been alerted. But as time goes on, he starts to "blend in" with the other traffic. He arrives at fairhaven which an unknown person (could be Clarence Callahan) telling him see of he still got the guts in him to fight against the cops. (Could explain some of the missions) and then he revs the engine of his M3 E92 and begins the chase..." And we made never know what happen to Paul since the story was scrapped sadly.
I cool thing I noticed is that in normal coloured builds of this cancelled game, the most wanted is a Mitsubishi lancer evo… and in the mobile version of most wanted 2012, the first racer in the most wanted list (japan4 I think) also has a Mitsubishi Lancer evo. Coincidence?
I remember tested the currently "MW" from 2012 in console once time (i think was a PS or Xbox... idk) it was some 8 or 9 years ago. But after exploring and researching a bit the previous stages from this, i think i prefer this.
If you wanna see most wanted 2 just play need for speed carbon, it's the direct sequel, just because it doesn't have written "most wanted" in the title it doesn't mean it's not a sequel.
When you said the FPS will improve slightly i noticed that 3:28 is running alittle smoother or in the pace of a standard laptop that barely runs the game but still smooth in some areas of the map

I don't think I'd enjoy it (In it's alpha / beta state). It may have been much more ambitious / intriguing, but at the end of the day this is unfinished, buggy, not necessarily optimized, and probably only has a bit more content than a short demo, at most. It's really cool watching and learning about it, but this isn't a full game (Like many other development builds of other games).
Being a huge mega fan of the franchise i was really hoping for there to be more busted cutscenes and things like this but at least still thankful for what we got don’t get me wrong it still runs a little short but we need more need for speed games including ones with cutscenes when you get busted. Imagine playing a need for speed game and getting to choose the driver you want for the career mode.

2000s style. For some reason people start getting interested at this style in year 2012 and 2014. Now 80s and early 90s is popular. But one day 2000s style will be back again in different look.

yes in this specific builds there are 6 head levels. in the build in the previous videos there are 5 heat levels.

if you check the card you can actually see the finished result of the storyboard. although there are some minor changes in how it plays out

Funny thing, the beta isn’t gone. In the boot up for console sometimes black cvpis can be seen chasing an m3, the only cvpis in game are blue.
